September 1Sep 1 Texas goes in to Columbus, strgulles to do much offensively until the 4th quarter, and drops the season opener by a final score of 14-7. Next up, the home opener against San Jose State. Saturday at 11:00am on ABC (Sorry, couldn't find a lot of quality SJSU cheerleading pics this morning).

September 1Sep 1 opening statement: 50 played 7 true freshman only 11% explosives have to be over 20% 24 game streak no turnovers ended and that was a difference 170 ground yards a positive not just flags but timing of the flags - recounts all the bad flags have to be better at playing complementary ball 1/5 on 4th have to do better positives: baxter, muhammad, bouwmeister, 4 new 0-line starters, 2nd-half-arch
September 1Sep 1 Popular Post I understand why we didn’t kick the field goals. I do not understand the play calling. If you can’t come up with something the defense isn’t expecting, take the points and trust the defense.

September 1Sep 1 When in doubt always search for the dance team instead of cheerleaders (marginally better in this case).
September 1Sep 1 Popular Post Did he address the fact that the whole fucking team knew exactly what he was calling based on tape last year? How fucking pathetic getting paid millions of dollars to retread the same shit that lost you game last year. Durrr maybe it will work this time

Durrr maybe it will work this time Archdozer plays were a new wrinkle that didn’t work. we didn’t have to witness the double spin around screen thing that never worked last year Other than that, yeah I expected to see some actual decent new stuff. Teams are running barely legal screens now where the WR runs a drag behind the LOS and the other crosser blocks the guy. Shit seems to work right now for them. Not that I think we need that cheap shit. Need to have Moore or whoever else learn to run the zig or run more of the Worthy motion flag routes n sheeit.
September 1Sep 1 How some good old fashion quick slants and let the wr get to work early. whatever the plan was Saturday throw it away.
September 1Sep 1 q: sark's 1st game in '96 against air force, sark sucked, how does he use that experience to help arch, sark: blah blah q: bouwmeister; sark: pin them deep q: calling qb runs; sark: yes q: arch mechanics: sark: get his feet shoulders aligned will help accuracy, he was turning his shoulders to find crossers q: playcalling receivers open arch didn't see them; sark: arch will grow in to seeing route structures unfold, don't judge passing game and arch on chapter 1 q: pleased w/ the start against team like that? comment on run game?; sark: ? last year we were too cute against those teams (which teams?), wanted to have a physical mentality, run straight at them, we did that, challenged offense to block better extend runs, commitment to run the ball, need other elements of the team to show up q: next 3 weeks about us or them; sark: both q: stupid question, twice pinned them inside their 5, what's the balance of going for 2 and leaving DBs on an islarnd: sark: hard count, pocket contain, punt from the endzone is the goal q: no takeaways what did you see on film; sark: they didn't give us opportunities to get picks, cautious pass game, didn't beat themselves, on tackles 2nd guy must attack ball will be emphasizing strips through minute 29 on the stream q: endries; sark:
September 1Sep 1 No questions on why he did not the points. Also, someone needs to ask him if he knows his 4th down success percentage in the redzone in the past 4 years against top 25 competition. Edited September 1Sep 1 by DanTheHorn

I think it’s a great way to get a rhythm going and get the uptempo pace established. Slants, bubble screens are like 3-5 yard runs and probably better than his first pass into the dirt

After watching Film guy video, I think reason our WR got no separation was due to the fact they have fully figured out Sark scheme. OSU got Sark figured out. The times we did have someone open, Arch didn't see. OSU confused the fuck out of Arch and Sark with their pre snap/post snap stuff. Edited September 1Sep 1 by westexhorn

Arch threw it into the fucking ground 10 yards short like a fucking retard.
September 1Sep 1 If Arch hits on the easy throws, we’re talking about how we beat them at their place solidly, with a great defense and a vanilla as shit game plan. Grades on OL and especially WR would be much higher.

Which was wide open against Georgia in the SEC title game on 3rd down…. But Quinn was sacked without time to throw that BS. Hoping he truly gave up that BS. Honestly with running Arch under center with single back I love that in the run game, the jet motion sweep is right there for that one too. I guess it take a bit of timing and practice to really get that action down, but Sark is king of pre snap action so I would think that’s a play.
September 1Sep 1 Did any of the journalists ask Arch why his mechanics were so different? I saw one Sark quote about footwork on crossers but that's it. Seemed like the issues went well beyond crossers to me..
September 1Sep 1 speaking of flags, on rewatch I saw at least 2 times where our DL were getting hands to the face/facemask grabbed with zero calls. DL was tackled/hugged 3 times, no calls. OSU DB's were also excellent on grabbing us on our cuts, good coaching. we should do this a lot this year. OSU DL(right side) was in the neutral zone on the QB sneak. We got away with one illegal motion from our right tackle and a blatant hold by guard in second half on the TD drive.

September 8Sep 8 Did anyone catch today's presser? Some idiot started asking a question about Arch throwing with pain and Sark shut him immediately with "Says who?" The guy started answering with something along the lines of "It looked like..." and Sark shot back with "I don’t have a camera on you guys to see what you look like when you're going to the bathroom, so..." Fucking classic. A must watch. Who was the idiot? I hope it was Chip Brown. Sounded like his kind of shit-stirring approach.
