September 5Sep 5 What's Eberflus thinking on third down there? Only way we've had success on defense tonight was when we sent extra men and forced Hurts's hand.
September 5Sep 5 I hate Dak Prescott and Dallas so much right now. I knew they’d blow it. Got the ball, almost 3 min left to go down and win the game. Decides to throw 2 long balls in traffic and both almost intercepted. He’s no Brady.

Dak hasn't looked this good against a legitimately good team in a long time. That first one was a straight drop by Lamb. The 2nd one wasn't a drop since he had to lay out and it would have been a very difficult catch, but when you make over $30 million a year to play a game you're paid to catch that.

September 5Sep 5 Dallas had a real chance. Lightning delay fucked the offenses for the rest of the game

September 5Sep 5 Everyone was calling this a sure Philly beat down; I thought the Cowboys held their own, and looked better than I expected.

But your post was the entire problem with the drive. They played like the goal was to give the ball back to Philly ASAP and then get the ball back as quickly as possible. They had 3 minutes and 3 time outs, and ran 7 straight passes in hurry up offense. Just stupid strategy.

Dude balled his fucking ass off tonight. Not sure how he's supposed to catch perfect balls for himself.
September 5Sep 5 CeeDee doesn't have champion blood. We all knew this when he had his pout-a-thon in the playoffs.

CeeDee fucked the game, he’s done it a lot, period. Of course he's expected to catch it. He makes $34 million a year. If it was Turpin he wouldn't be expected to catch that. It's a damn difficult catch to make, and therefore not an official drop. Every receiver in the league is expected to catch the first one he dropped on that drive. That's a flat official drop.

September 5Sep 5 For as bad as the defense started, this loss is all on the offense. Fumble inside the red zone and 3 straight drives to take a lead and nada. There will be very few games Dallas will have both sides of the ball making the most of their opportunities. 8-9 season upcoming, if that. No real playmakers on offense.

Four straight passes in a row when we've been running it well bothers me. But they didn't do it because they were preserving clock otherwise they would have snapped it before the 2 min warning. Schottenheimer mishandled that.

September 5Sep 5 That went a lot better than I expected, so maybe there's hope for a season that isn't completely embarrassing. Our defense sucked donkey balls, but they made adjustments and stepped up after the weather delay. Maybe, probably not, but maybe, they learned how to not suck. Offense in general was pretty good until the end, and you can't really fault Dak, even though I don't care for him. With a couple exceptions he played a pretty good game.

September 5Sep 5 CD got hit early in the third quarter on that play the Eagles safety got injured. He wasn't the same after that. I think he still heard footsteps.
September 5Sep 5 São Paulo ought to be good tomorrow, if nothing more the sidelines / cheerleaders should be next level.

Thats what I really miss. Staubach would find a way to get the win most times. Cowboys were never out of a game and known for exciting comebacks. Romo had a touch of that too but Dak rarely does whether its his fault or someone else's.
September 5Sep 5 I don’t like either of these teams. As a neutral observer I think my biggest takeaway was that Dak looks really good. Better than he has in a while. Ceedee is sooner trash. Cowboys defense is also suspect. I see the Cowboys going 9-8 and either missing the playoffs or losing on wild card weekend. Edited September 5Sep 5 by Mantis Toboggan, MD

Romo had a touch of that too but Dak rarely does whether its his fault or someone else's. I must have watched a different Romo era. We found an abundance of ways to lose with him as QB, just like with Dak. He might have had more "flash" but when it counted the most, he failed. Both the Romo and Dak eras are almost identical.
