$80k can buy this truck, but it clearly can’t buy a lick of sense. Seen at the Far West HEB - dumbass tried to completely cut over the curb. Didn’t see the giant-ass boulder, and high-centered on it

So I went to the store earlier today. I wound up parking in the space to the left of that small black car After I pulled into the parking space I noticed a piece of paper stuck in the door handle

This seems like the best place to make this point...

If you are one of those individuals who insists on backing into parking spaces in public parking lots, you are a douchebag and a dumbass.

That is all.

That is all.

Back-in parking (when done properly) is the safest method of parking there is.

This is settled case law, both on Shag 1.0, Shag 2.0 & in the general population.

Also let's you back your truck in further if there is a parking stop in the space.

Except for the fact that you didn’t make a point at all.

Can’t back up a vehicle huh?

Ex wife: “I checked my mirrors and backup camera BEFORE I started backing”.

no pic, but what's the surly opinion on trucks that back in and block pathways, especially with a trailer hitch?

personally, fuck that shit.

So, you do the reverse gear driving out of the clearer area (parking lot aisles) into a tighter space, surrounded closely by other vehicles, often needing one or more adjustments and making others wait for you to get out of the way rather than back out of the tight space into the clearer area where the typical driver can easily accomplish the task with a simple, standard, two-point turn?

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.  No wonder there are so many people out there continuing this stupidity.

Maybe you should leave a few minutes earlier so waiting 30 seconds for us to park isn't such a big deal

Overall (taking into account parking and leaving), it's faster, easier, and safer. Don't be angry you aren't as capable.

It is much easier and makes more sense for long wheelbase vehicles (i.e., trucks).  I bet you drive a Yugo.

Team back into spaces

Same.  Much safer when pulling out, and backup camera makes it a breeze.

This is ridiculous.  In a tight and crowded parking lot I will always back in if available.  It has been proven safer since you know your surroundings entering and less about your surroundings when exiting.

I don't car if you're pulling in, backing in, paralleling... if you're taking 30 seconds to park, something is wrong with you.  Probably estrogen.

Some douche at Home Depot.  Wanted to keep that dent from getting worse.

Absolutely zero need to do this when you're gapped by 1 space away from the nearest other vehicle & parked relatively in the weeds.

If he'd have backed in, he wouldn't have needed to leave all that room to open his door.

Do you also think the Earth is flat? Basic geometry skills tells you why backing in is superior and safer.

I don’t know if they were afraid of the tree or the scary yellow parking block:

I’m afraid of the scary yellow parking block.  I tripped over one and broke boafma arms about 5 years ago.  Falling down sober is no way to go through life.

He's parking back so he can check if it's his car leaking or if those stains are from another car before him.

It’s also much easier to wind up straight in a spot while backing up.

Think of it this way, do you parallel parking while moving forward? Fuck no. Front end pushing the rear >>>> front end pulling the rear.

That 5.3L doesn't leak oil, just consumes it

FULL parking lot... Yup, that's me to the left - backed in - hoping they had someone who had to get in the passenger side.

Shopped at that Safeway a ton. That parking lot sucks and traffic gets to a standstill. Can’t blame him for trying a unique exit.
