March 26, 20187 yr This seems like the best place to make this point... If you are one of those individuals who insists on backing into parking spaces in public parking lots, you are a douchebag and a dumbass. That is all.

If you are one of those individuals who insists on backing into parking spaces in public parking lots but don't know how to stay between the lines like a regular human being, you are a douchebag and a dumbass. That is all. Back-in parking (when done properly) is the safest method of parking there is. This is settled case law, both on Shag 1.0, Shag 2.0 & in the general population.
March 27, 20187 yr Also let's you back your truck in further if there is a parking stop in the space. Parking right in front of a fire hydrant: Edited March 27, 20187 yr by elfenix

March 27, 20187 yr no pic, but what's the surly opinion on trucks that back in and block pathways, especially with a trailer hitch? personally, fuck that shit.
March 27, 20187 yr So, you do the reverse gear driving out of the clearer area (parking lot aisles) into a tighter space, surrounded closely by other vehicles, often needing one or more adjustments and making others wait for you to get out of the way rather than back out of the tight space into the clearer area where the typical driver can easily accomplish the task with a simple, standard, two-point turn? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. No wonder there are so many people out there continuing this stupidity.
March 27, 20187 yr Maybe you should leave a few minutes earlier so waiting 30 seconds for us to park isn't such a big deal
March 27, 20187 yr Basic kinematics: when space is limited, backing in allows you to park better. Scroll down to the animation: https://www.quora.com/Why-do-people-back-up-into-parking-spaces Not to mention the safety benefit of having full visibility when pulling out of the spot.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. No wonder there are so many people out there continuing this stupidity. Overall (taking into account parking and leaving), it's faster, easier, and safer. Don't be angry you aren't as capable.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. No wonder there are so many people out there continuing this stupidity. It is much easier and makes more sense for long wheelbase vehicles (i.e., trucks). I bet you drive a Yugo.

In a tight and crowded parking lot I will always back in if available. It has been proven safer since you know your surroundings entering and less about your surroundings when exiting.

March 29, 20187 yr Absolutely zero need to do this when you're gapped by 1 space away from the nearest other vehicle & parked relatively in the weeds. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

April 2, 20187 yr Do you also think the Earth is flat? Basic geometry skills tells you why backing in is superior and safer. It’s also much easier to wind up straight in a spot while backing up. Think of it this way, do you parallel parking while moving forward? Fuck no. Front end pushing the rear >>>> front end pulling the rear.

April 3, 20187 yr FULL parking lot... Yup, that's me to the left - backed in - hoping they had someone who had to get in the passenger side.
April 3, 20187 yr “I bet my Camry could do that” That Land Rover seems like it high centers trying to get to the top. Minor amusement
