September 7Sep 7 So got dragged to her show over the weekend. 1.5 hrs of “oh thank yeeeews” and dropping her eye and making innuendos and mentioning her butthole. People find her funny? I was more pissed I dropped my beer after last call. Crowd was like 80% women, most of them in line for wine and laughing uproariously at anything that lady said on stage. Opening act guy was funnier. I’m easily not her target audience.
September 7Sep 7 She has a Netflix sitcom. Not many female comics can say that right now. Her act is pretty clean and she’s from Tennessee, so you guessed it, she’s a part of Nateland Productions. Nate is building an empire in Nashville. The sitcom is passable. They put a really good cast around her including Ryan Stiles and Kristen Johnson. Her Netflix special was pretty good. A lot of funny and frankly true observations about aging and being married to the same person for a very long time. Edited September 7Sep 7 by billfromlaketravis

September 7Sep 7 never heard of her, so I googled. I made it about 80 seconds (how's that for innuendo).

September 7Sep 7 My wife suggested we check out her Netflix sitcom. We made it less than two minutes before we bailed on it. Awful laugh track and schlocky humor.

September 7Sep 7 Heard her on Sirius Comedy Channel about 10 years ago. She was a "Church crowd" comedian. Guess she's trying to go mainstream. Moderately funny.

September 8Sep 8 Wife had her special on a month of so ago. It was awful. Every other anecjoke was a humblebrag about her daughter and her great job or some shit. Edited September 8Sep 8 by CurlyDumps

September 8Sep 8 I listened to her on Amy Poehler's podcast a few weeks ago. They were pretty funny together, but I cannot listen to her voice for long stretches of time. She swears it's really how she talks, and I realize the irony of being from southeast TX and shitting on someone else's accent, but her voice is about 10 levels up from anything you hear in the Golden Triangle.
September 9Sep 9 Jesus Christ comedy is flat out dead. Is Bill Burr the last funny comedian? This lady sucks, all the Rogan morons are hideous, and even the recent British dudes have all sucked. Is Rogan the American anti-Christ? Everything that fucker touches turns to garbage

It was at a downtown venue that had very little dedicated surface parking so people were parking where they could. Being that it was 80% women in attendance it was 75% female drivers. It was….it was…was…a horrible mess.

It’s pretty true to East Tennessee, having spent a fair bit of time there over the years. I saw her NetFlix standup special and it was moderately funny. She’s a mostly PG-rated comic who does observational humor about Southerners, largely laughing with, not at, them, and focusing more on relationships. Sort of a mashup of Jeff Foxworthy and Rita Rudner. There’s a niche for that, she’ll probably be able to get gigs in Pigeon Forge and Branson until she’s 80 if she wants to. Her joke about her Dad wanting to make sure he had the Roku channel so he could watch The Rockford Files hit a little too close to home, however.
September 10Sep 10 What's her catch phrase? I bet its something like, "And thats how you know THIS girl is country! Know what I mean yall?"
September 10Sep 10 She has no catch phrase, but starts most of her bits with "What in the world..." That's about as funny as she gets.

The Reba McEntire effect/affect. I’ve been down every backroad in Oklahoma and nobody sounds like that over the top cornpone.
