Lance Parrish on the black & orange Rawlings catcher's mitt. Probably Murphy/Sandberg/one or two others on regular gloves before stepping into the GG series in HS.

I had a Mike Schmidt h-web with closed back and Holdster. It got stolen out of my locker and was replaced with a Nocona AMG500 true outfield glove, which got stolen with my car from West Campus while I was studying for the bar.

I now have a heart of the hide JD7.  No name on it, but JD stands for JD Drew.

Regular glove- JR Richard.

Catcher's mitt- Jim Sundberg

My dad had that Dale Murphy I used it to play slowpitch softball a few times. He was right handed though

Looks like a lot of us had the same glove

Damaso Garcia. A2000.

Signed by Tony Pena, Pedro Guerrero and Juan Marichal.

I did have one of Pena's catcher's mitts. A Mizuno. Loved that glove.

Working to get Jonny Gomes to sign my new one. A Nokona.

I had the Dale Murphy then got a Nolan Ryan RBG36 when I was 13 that I still have. I've tried a lot of gloves over the years and went through a lot with my son but have never found a better one than that.

So question - my son is 6 and plays, but obviously we're not to the point of getting one of these gloves yet. Are these basic Rawlings gloves still a thing? I really hope so.

I hadn't clicked on this thread because I couldn't remember.  Then it just popped in my head.  Nice haha moment to see the first post was Dale Murphy.

Johnny Bench on my catcher's mitt, I don't remember on my fielding glove.  I sucked so bad at baseball, but I really wanted to catch.  Instead I was usually sent to right field.

Don't remember a name in the palm ( maybe Don Kessinger?), but this is the glove my dad bought me in the early 70's at Gibson's Sporting in SA while I was in Little League. Around $12 bucks if I remember correctly. Used it all the way through Pony, high school, and freshman year in college. Cheap, but a great glove.

Like @Scheiss Meister above, we also had a Johnny Bench catcher's glove that was used by my brother and I while catching batting practice.

Bobby Richardson, 2B for the Yankees.

I've never been a Yankees fan.

Chris Sabo… pretty sure my dad got it on sale at Mervyns or the such

Jim Catfish Hunter

Was always kinda pissed to have a Yankee glove, but dad grew up in Oklahoma, so Mickey Mantle/Yankees was his thing.

Geno Patralli autographed my catcher's mitt but I don't remember who's name was on it.

Look into the Mizzuno power close line of gloves. Reasonably priced and pretty good for kids baseball. They do help in getting the kids to squeeze the glove closed faster/better imo.

I had Fernando Valenzuela on my Rawlings glove.

Mike Schmidt because, just like at the blackjack table I play third base….

Hell if I can remember, but it was exactly like these, it had the red Rawlings medallion. Probably a 60s dude. It will come to me someday. I probably still have it in the shed.

Probably purchased at Gibson's Discount Center.

Oh, baseball glove? Lenny Dykstra.

Same here….on the Kelly LeBrock.

Jim “Catfish” Hunter on the other one.

Supposedly this can be photomatched to a Griffey Jr video game commercial. Gifted to me by an ad man/relative.

I used mostly hand me downs from my brothers but my primary until I was about 11 was a Mizuno (big M) with a pump that didn’t work. I have tried to find a pic and a model number but no luck. Loved that glove. Incredible pocket. When I got to Bronco and joined a “AAA”/Travel team I got a Rawlings HoH that I used until it got ruined by a leaky cooler on a beach trip about 5 years ago.

He was my dad's favorite player, and he had a line of gloves with Sears, so it was a no-brainer that my first real glove was a Ted Willliams model.

Mine is Bobby Bonilla. Very similar looking to the basket weave Rawlings gloves already posted several times in this thread.

Edit: I've got my late dad's glove around here somewhere but can't find it at the moment. 99% sure it's Ken Boyer.

Yeah, they had Ted Williams signature on everything, shotguns, rebranded Diawa fishing reels, probably even outdoor toilet paper.

I'm pretty sure I played hand-me-downs until 1962 or so. I don't remember any of the names or if they even had any. I started catching in 1967 and was given a Yogi Berra catchers mitt. I'm wondering if I could have even purchased a Clemente or Mays glove in Wichita in 1962. I do remember that Mantle, ugh, was about all you could find at the time.
