September 17Sep 17 headed to columbia this weekend for game against south carolina. it's a trip i take with a group each year for the last 20+ years to various college football destinations. having done a lot of the big dogs across the country over the last couple of decades, we are starting to get into the middle tier of destinations and this was what worked out for this year. none of us have ever been. anyone live there or spent time there that can recommend good spots in columbia and given any guidance on tailgating day of? night game so hoping for some juice.
September 17Sep 17 Booches is classic college town fare. My dad has a story about being a regular when he was a prof at Mizzou. I was too young to remember anything else.
September 17Sep 17 Wish I could help, but it's been a minute over 4 decades. The girls like to have fun, though.

My parents went to college there back when journalists needed to have gone to journalism school. No recommendations. Only visited once, back in the ‘80s. I think we ate at a PIZZA INN.
September 18Sep 18 My Dad was Mizzou Class of 1933. Mom took me and my two brothers there for 7 months to await his return from France in 1945. He passed away in 2002, so no help there…..and I don’t remember anything about the place. Sorry.
September 18Sep 18 Shakespeare’s pizzaFlat branch pub & BrewingHokkaido Ramen & SushiIf you’re looking for cheap women and food, Campus bar & Grill, informally known as Big 12. It’s on the corner of Elm & 9th across from the J school and diagonally across from Shakespeares downtown. The field house on Broadway for a high top sports bar, burger and beer vibe. There are a ton of places downtown.
September 18Sep 18 The Penguin piano bar is open under new management so YMMV; a few years ago for Kappa dad’s weekend it was hopping, the Mizzou band would come in at 11 or midnight and play with the dueling piano players.
September 18Sep 18 My daughter (no pics) looked hard at Mizzou for their Journalism School. We toured the school and had dinner with the Director of the J-School. That's all I remember. Had to fly into St Louis and drive over. I think we were in the parking garage leaving from our visit to the campus where she said "I want to go to UT".
September 18Sep 18 Campus Bar n Grill was the spot when I was driving through a couple years ago. Other than that, nothing too memorable- i think the main strip is on Broadway

My daughter’s reaction was “I wanna get the fuck out of Texas” and she really enjoyed the honors college and J school. And her network has been great since everyone ends up in Chicago.Sidis I just texted the event director for the city of CoMo to see if there are any newer shouldn’t miss places. Thanks for giving me the reason to reconnect with her.
