September 23Sep 23 Memory Motel off No Security holds a special spot for just because of the life memories I have associated with that song
September 23Sep 23 Gimmie Shelter is my obvious #1 but my somewhat under the radar #1 would be "All Down the Line". that song when played at old school Stones 70's speed is flat out kick ass, IMO. Mick Taylor on the slide, too good. horns, etc.

September 24Sep 24 I really like the latest album a lot. Angry is a great song and sounds like vintage, early Stones.

September 24Sep 24 sorry for bit of a threadjack. found 2 more ADTL. one approx 1996 after that 72 performance and then Beacon theater 2006. basically 25 and 35 years later. interesting to see the differences. Mick still had decent chops in 1996 but the growl is gone. The Beacon vocals are meh but hey the dude is 60 there. You never ever feel like Mick is mailing it in. the Beacon tempo seems closer to 72. Ronnie is a very good slide player but he tends to over do it a bit. It is always hard to top the dude who did it on the record but Taylor's is so smooth. still even these guys at 50 and 60ish are kicking ass and it is a blistering song either way. beacon
September 24Sep 24 Charlie is absolutely on for the Beacon. I had seen that not too long ago actually
September 25Sep 25 not one vote for moonlight mile? i'll also throw out slave and sway, since i havent seen them mentioned.
September 25Sep 25 not one vote for moonlight mile? i'll also throw out slave and sway, since i havent seen them mentioned. It's absolutely their best song ever depending upon the moment you hear it. One of my go to songs when sitting around my Solo Stove late at night with a good glass of Irish whiskey.

September 26Sep 26 It's an impossible exercise. I'm sure I'd cite "Bitch" as my favorite now and then. Those horns . . .

September 26Sep 26 First time I saw them was in the Superdome in 1980 with Van Halen as the opening act and the Doobie Brothers in the middle
September 27Sep 27 It’s an impossible task Gimme Shelter obviously Shine A Light Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) Monkey Man Loving Cup
September 27Sep 27 I don't know about favorite, a few great ones stand out. But the one I go to most is Waiting On A Friend.
September 27Sep 27 I'm changing my vote to "Sweet Virginia". And then I'll change it to "Jumping Jack Flash". Then "Start Me Up" followed by oh hell I don't know, all of them.
October 1Oct 1 Rocks Off Jumping Jack Flash Cant You Hear Me Knocking Get Off of My Cloud (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction These songs were meant to be played at maximum volume in a car driven at a high rate of speed.
October 1Oct 1 It’s Gimme Shelter for me. For a long ass time my answer would have been Jumpin Jack Flash.
October 1Oct 1 Sympathy for the Devil was my #1 until I saw them live and Sasha Allen and Mick did Gimme Shelter....badass
October 1Oct 1 I've always been fascinated with their peak and the lifestyle at the time. Keith’ autobiography is a must read. From that time period I've watched Gimme Shelter multiple times. The scene where they're listening to a cut of Wild Horses in a studio in Muscle Shoals AL is just awesome. So cool to see the artists as they're creating classics. I like Charlie’s smirk. Seems to realize oh shit that's good. Another good one. This one is cut off, but Mick Taylor sounds great here. Dead Flowers. One of the best country songs ever. Edited October 1Oct 1 by Chopped
October 1Oct 1 And as I'm sitting in a local pub right now that was quiet & still, You Can't Always Get What You Want began playing. That's the perfect song for today
October 5Oct 5 The beginning alone makes Gimme Shelter my favorite song by the Stones. My favorite song written by Jagger and Richards is Dead Flowers. But I listen to the the Townes Van Zandt version.

Seems to realize oh shit that's good. Thanks for that. I think "Wild Horses" is Mick's greatest vocal performance of all time. What a song. (Personally, I think Charlie is probably evaluating his drumming.)

She got called to the studio late at night to do the vocals - all dressed up in her pajamas and hair rollers and four months pregnant at the time. As much as I like the song I like the film just as much.
October 8Oct 8 Lots of great ones above. An under appreciated one for me is Hang Fire Edited October 8Oct 8 by HiggyBaby
October 12Oct 12 Tumbling Dice Hand of Fate 19th Nervous Breakdown All Down the Line Time Waits for No One Out of Time
October 20Oct 20 She's a Rainbow Mother's Little Helper Hang Fire - childhood favorite, soft spot - 2 minutes and 21 seconds of fun.

The gods of music don't allow that to happen very often.
November 6Nov 6 Street fighting man paint it black I am waiting moonlight mile songs I enjoy working to, but love most of their catalog.
