September 21Sep 21 It was one thing when their traditional run game was bad, but Matter could get yards. Now they have no running game at all.

Unless something changes the Sooners are going to get their brains blown out (again) on Oct 11th. Mateer is a fraud Heisman candidate. OU is about to be a fraud top 10 team. Texas is better at every spot on the field and our coach is way less of a dipshit. Any OU fan that looks you in the eye and tells you that Texas is in trouble is probably high on meth and/or fucking their sister. Their DL vs our OL will be a nightmare I’m afraid especially in pass pro but maybe I’ll be wrong.

Yeah not seeing it, they are not even close to tOSU and they did just fine in pass protection against them. The real question is if this OL can grow up by Oct 11 and stop giving away 100 penalty yards per game.
September 21Sep 21 Wasn’t auburn playing a 17yo guy on OL? I thought I heard them say he was the youngest player in d1. But yes I too have concerns about our OL vs their DL. I watched the ohio state game. I also watched the utep game. Edited September 21Sep 21 by tbone_
September 21Sep 21 I think he was a backup that had to come in for a bit. I remember them mentioning it. The first play he was in that I recall, there wasn’t any pressure.

Don’t let the Jackson Arnold experience fool you. He was sacked 34 times in 10 games last year, including eight times twice. He took 4 v Ball St this year. OU DL is good; they’re not going to replicate that performance against any good teams.

September 21Sep 21 We are going to see some really bad offensive football the next two games we play. The team that breaks 20 in either of those games will probably win.

There were several sacks that happened after four or five seconds of him standing in the pocket. He has no internal clock, apparently. He also had multiple sacks where he decided to run up the middle thinking there was a lane that did not exist resulting in a -1/2 yard loss that counted as a sack. Of the 10 sacks at least half were 100% on Arnold making bad decisions. Edited September 21Sep 21 by Newy25

September 21Sep 21 Wonder if the SEC came out against this in 2023: https://www.outkick.com/ncaaf/ole-miss-head-coach-lane-kiffin-calls-the-ultimate-trick-play-talks-smack-towards-jimbo-fisher-after-pulling-it-off Quote There's no love loss between Lane Kiffin and Jimbo Fisher, and this has been evident over the past few years. During Saturday's game between Ole Miss and Texas A&M, Kiffin pulled off the ultimate trick play, then had a little fun afterwards. It went down during the first half between the Rebels and Aggies, as Ole Miss was looking to add to its lead. After giving up a touchdown on a blocked field goal on the previous possession, Kiffin went deep into the playbook for a trick play. Quote While Texas A&M thought they had everyone on the Rebels offense covered, wide receiver Jordan Watkins slowly made his way to the Ole Miss sidelines. But, he didn't quite make it off the field, leaving him wide open on the sidelines. Unfortunately for Aggies defensive coordinator DJ Durkin, they didn't notice the wide open wideout, just waiting on the pass from Jaxson Dart. Not only did the Rebels pull-off the play, but Kiffin sprinted down the sidelines with his wide receiver for the touchdown. While celebrating the play, Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin made the 'sleeping' signal towards the Aggies sidelines, having some fun against Jimbo Fisher. Edited September 21Sep 21 by Francisco 2.0

That was the least of their fuck ups, blame the damn Auburn corner on that side of the field for not identifying the OU receiver still in bounds. They didn't mention any of the late hits from the OU defense and goodness knows they don't call holding in the SEC so keep telling yourself the officiating is that much better as from what I can tell it sucks throughout college football.

All the replays I have seen cut off the sideline so you don’t get a clear view of the final setup of the WR. But there’s an OU player walking slowly backward toward the LoS jawing at the corner ostensibly trying to distract him. And the body language of the WR certainly looked like someone walking off the field, at least until he was out of the screen view. They have an obvious illegal pick play they ran several times, why wouldn’t a team known for cheating not have other illegal plays in their playbook? Plus their 20 year old OC probably doesn’t know the rules and thinks he came up with a unique “trick play”, and the HC looks like one of the final pictures of one of those meth transformation time lapses.

September 21Sep 21 I don’t understand the Arnold vitriol from the OU crowd. When he came back from injury last year he forfeited a redshirt year that he desperately needs to have a future in football. He didn’t have to do that. He did it for his team. Yes he sucked, but he put his team before himself which is exceedingly rare in modern college football. I know they’re meth smoking losers, but I would hope most fanbases would acknowledge this and not boo the guy.
September 21Sep 21 I was watching at the tailgate without sound. How did they reconcile the 2 catch no-catch calls? I thought they should have both probably been a catch but I don't see how both of those were reversed from the call on the field when they look pretty much like the same play. "Sooner Magic" indeed.

In person it was tough to tell, and the in-stadium replays weren't handled well. The first one (potential fumble and return for TD) appeared that the ball was being held against the receiver by the DB, not the WR. There's an angle that shows the glove colors pretty well and the receiver's hand and arm is fully above and outside the DB's hand. Second one was a pretty clear catch, two steps, punched out a step or two out of bounds.

OU needed an illegal play and bullshit officiating to beat an unranked Auburn team at home. The Michigan offense is atrocious and hung with the Sooners for 3 qtrs in Norman. I think they’re good but being overrated on both sides of the ball. A solid defense and decent offense (from us or any other team) beats this sooner team. I’m all for going into the cotton bowl as an underdog to the sooner trash, will make the win that much sweeter
