September 21Sep 21 Watching the replay of the Stars preseason game against the Blues that was on last night during our game and Adam Erne is playing on a PTO. That caused me to look to see if he could be added to the roster or if that would put the Stars over the cap (it would, but about $300k). Anyway, that caused me to look at where other teams sit with the cap and saw that both Vegas and Florida are projected to be several million over the cap. Anyone who understands these things better, what do those teams have to do and by when in order to be compliant? https://puckpedia.com/teams That said, super excited about the season and seeing who comes out on top. Who you got? I like my Stars' chances, but it's a long season and a million things can happen.

Florida will have Tkachuk on LTIR to start the season making them compliant until he returns. They will obviously have to make some changes to their roster upon his return to absorb his $9MM+ cap hit. I’m not as familiar with Vegas’ cap and roster situation but I can’t image it being too different from Florida. The big LTIR change really only affects teams roster construction heading into the playoffs as far as I understand.
September 26Sep 26 Sasha Barkov set to miss the entire regular season after injuring his knee in his first practice. Major blow to Florida’s campaign for a three-peat. Hell of a fucking player.

I don't see it happening. but who knows!?
October 6Oct 6 Author any predictions for the season? Vegas looks stacked, again. I have the Isles swapping with the Devils for the last eastern playoffs spot, otherwise my prelim predictions show the rest of the field will be the same as last season. similarly with the west, I look to minnesota to miss this year and the ducks, of all teams, to squeak in the last western spot. I think WSH, LA, STL are going to be better than most are predicting. I expect the Blackhawks and Sharks to fight it out for worst record. sadly the preds might be in that mix too. thoughts?
October 6Oct 6 Author McDavid get 2x$12.5M. Guessing he's hoping for a cup in the next two or will shop whomever can bring him one

October 8Oct 8 Wedgewood in goal for the Colorado shitheads. It's a little early in the season to be that angry.
October 8Oct 8 Author fun opening night. gonna be a good season with lots of new, young talent to learn about.
October 10Oct 10 Because the nhl has the most regarded schedule makers in all of sports? The back to back home and home games are always infuriating.
October 22Oct 22 Going to be a long, painful fucking season of Bruins hockey. We also can’t draft worth a shit so I’m expecting this team to be bad for many seasons until we fire Sweeney. Hopefully we can at least revert back to the Big Bad Bruins days and take out a couple of opponents along the way.
October 23Oct 23 I just realized Canada is a bunch of cunts. I was rabbit holing some youtube shit. Fuck these motherfuckers, break all they legs.

Canucks fans certainly fit the bill. I'm still mad about the Bertuzzi/Steve Moore incident. And they will defend Bertuzzi until they are blue in the face. He's just lucky he did that in Canada and not Denver or he would have served some time, I think.
October 24Oct 24 An absolute elite uniform match up in Denver tonight. Those Avs Nordique uniforms are so fucking sick.
October 31Oct 31 Having a game on Friday at 2pm is just dumb. I don't care if it is Nevada Day or not. I'm not in Nevada.
November 5Nov 5 Westhead places the trial squarely in the context of hockey as only Canada has made it. He gets multiple sources — often former junior players, going back decades — to go on the record. Former junior players speak openly — or with trepidation and even fear — about the warped world of sexual conquest, the ugly cultures of hazing and alcohol, and the simultaneous culture of entitlement and conformity, bolstered by secrecy that is enforced from a young age. https://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/rick-westhead-explored-the-darker-corners-of-hockey-in-his-new-book-what-he-found/article_415fbb1d-fd32-427b-8421-19256ea45708.html
November 6Nov 6 I saw something in a college game last weekend that I had never seen before, and it makes me think that no one anticipated it when they changed the PP rules awhile back... UA at DU. UA #8 is assessed a 5-min major for checking from behind. 3+ minutes later, #20 for UA gets assessed a high-sticking minor, so it's 5-on-3, with the major penalty on the front end. DU scores with 1 second left on the 5-on-3, so the penalty board reads: #8 :01 #20 :48 So normally when there's a goal scored on a 5-on-3, that first penalty would come off the boards and #8 would leave the box, and the PP would have 0:48 remaining. But #8 was serving a major penalty, and majors don't end because of a PP goal. What's the call here? What the refs actually did: Spoiler They ended the 2nd penalty, let #20 leave the box, and left DU with a 5-on-4 PP for :01. That doesn't make much sense to me.

November 11Nov 11 Bruins get to whip the fucking shit out of the leafs for the second of a home and home. Bet we see a fight off the opening draw to answer the Zadorov hit last game. Fuck Toronto.
November 12Nov 12 It’s cute watching the leafs try to play big boy hockey lol… That entire team, franchise, and city aren’t built for Big Bad Bruins hockey.
November 12Nov 12 Fuck off back north, leafs. Zadorov fucked their heads up with a couple of solid hits. Weak ass franchise.
November 19Nov 19 Mikko might get some unpaid time off for that hit. He hasn't historically been a dirty player but that was a really bad hit.
