Agreed it'd be hilarious, but I can't imagine why either would want him after that shit-show on Saturday.

They were the biggest fraud of the season.

I'm not persuaded that Elko is going to be more then "meh" as a head coach.  But who are the better and more realistic candidates for ND and Michigan right now?  Do they go the NFL route and hire a former pro head coach or current coordinator?

The old AD, Savvy Jack Swarbrick, would do an exhaustive search of coaches already working at Notre Dame.  The new guy has never had to hire anyone.  What's Will Muschamp up to, wait never mind.

Is that an opinion or a Christmas wish?

Yes

Elko's main issue is he has no rolodex or connections to get coordinators or position coaches.  He'd take those meh coordinators he just promoted with him to his next stop, probably.

I think his biggest issue is a deep-seated contempt for offense that lots of good defensive coordinators have.

Yeah, I posted in another thread, but in Looch's post-game show on Saturday he actually tossed aside the typical wait-till-next-season sunshine for a moment and seemed to express some measure of concern that Elko promoted within for OC and DC.  I can imagine a "who would your coordinator hires be" discussion not going over well in an interview.

But he won an Ivy League Championship with the University of Pennsylvannia Quakers.
