The Cal board is buzzing about hiring Desean Jackson, who has turned around  Delaware State in his first year. He’s too green, but that would be a splashy hire.

Wilcox is a really not good head coach in virtually every area except being a nice guy.  DC is his level.  No idea if Lupoi will be a good HC or not but dunno how anyone can say he’d be a step down

This man gets it

He's not even on the list of candidates being considered.

It's the Cal board post, deflated almost immediately like your response, which felt like Desean fumbling at the goal line.

That's what Sark did.  Accepted the Texas job and then kept his OC duties at Alabama for the championship game.

Response from the starving zombies on This is who Sark is: What kind of an idiot does that? That's why we suck so bad!

For SpittleVision; Dip your fingers in smelly water and flick the drops at your monitor to simulate the spittle.

I worked with a trial lawyer in Dallas in my early career who grew up in Tulia.  Huge asshole.

There's some bullshit rumor about Lincoln Riley to Florida. That would be pretty fucking hilarious.

There is plenty of blame to go around as to why we have sucked over the years (he didn't hire himself), but he was a cocksucker of the highest order and couldn't coach for shit.  Ran off so many players that we played under the 85 scholarship limit until Spavital's 2nd year.

The home field advantage for ENMU has to strike fear in the opponent.

Lets compare this to his job at 3A Mt Vernon, TX:

It looks just like hundreds of other D2 or D3 CFB stadiums

ENMU has a great stadium, especially compared with what they used to have, halfway between Portales and Clovis.  It's freaking weird seeing it like a ghost town on the side of the highway.  BTW, this property is for sale.😁

Is the Schlitterbahn guy still around? He could probably do something fun and possibly deadly with that.

If he can use tumbleweeds and rattlesnakes as opposed to water, yeah...maybe.

Athlon Sports huh.... That means they read a post on a message board or X likely and ran with it.

Come on now people, don't be dissing a fine place like Portales. That Thai City place across the street gets 4.2 stars on Yelp and the motel next to it has 2.6 stars on TripAdvisor.

If you can’t trust someone named Liam Blutman, who can you trust? Nevertheless, apparently an Arky insider is also saying Morris to OKST and Womack to Arky.

image.thumb.png.9c1b3aefde217f59f598e88b7d32f7c0.png

Curious, if the Morris to Ok St rumor is true, which of his three young triplets (QB,RB,WR) goes with him to Sillwater? He could make OkSt competitive in a hurry and make the Oregon@OKST much more of a trap game than would be expected.

For those off-season bettors, that might be a good one to take OKST and the points in the offseason lines early...

Someone with a connection should call progressive Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's attention to the fact that a state university just hired a rape enabler too toxic for the CFL, any P4 school, and a conservative Texas high school.

Pushed to my phone as an ESPN alert. Can't imagine it would be backtracked now. I am gruntled. The QB has three years of eligibility left, right?

I don't wanna pull for Okie Lite, but I will if they hire the Shallowater boy.

As a UNT alum, this leaves me the opposite of gruntled, but not in the least bit surprised.  Please pick the right up and comer to take his place....

If he succeeds we'll likely be in the same position in a few years. If your guy is moving up it's a good thing. Take some  buyout money and find the next guy up. Just want to avoid losing a successful coach to a lateral program. Word this week was that we had a strong NIL package to offer and I think this likely confirms that because he would have other options.

Good hire! And having the NT connection will be really valuable.  OSU has to start getting some of the DFW athletes they used to lure.

What do you think?

I have mixed feelings. Obviously he's a Red Raider and he was a fun player to watch, but I have a deep, personal dislike for him for a number of reasons. He can be an extremely unpleasant, downright nasty person behind the scenes, I've seen it with my own eyes, but that's not all that uncommon in the CFB coaching scene. It was also years ago so I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt on personal growth. I do think he's a smart, excellent coach that will do good things for you guys.

All in all, I think this is a very good hire. I'm curious to see how he will shape the staff and handle the NIL scene but he's young, adaptable, and smart so I suspect he will do pretty well in that respect.

Metaphorically or literally, not that there is anything wrong with that.

No shit. Who could we get that wouldn't be?

I've met quite a few football HCs from corporate speaking engagements at national corporate events and other similar shit. Honestly, most of them had a strong air of true asshole. There was one who hung around WAY after his "allotted time" chatting with various groups of people for hours. It was Lou Holtz as much as I don't want to admit it. So.. being a dick seems like a prerequisite for the gig. He and Dick Butkus were the nicest NFL folks I personally ever met.

I am ashamed I didn't include Earl Campbell in the group of nicest people I've met from NFL/coaches group of people. He's right up there with with Dick and Lou. Plenty of other kind humans but those 3 stick out as really kind people persons. Ricky was super nice just didn't love chatting with strangers, but there's a good reason for it.
