September 28Sep 28 Boch gone for good? Offense gone for good? DeGrom, Nate and Leiter is a nice start. High hopes for Leiter to take another step next year. Early 2026 Rangers slogan candidates: - Meritocracy, this time for realz. - The offense (probably) can't be worse. - Don't leave! We're going to move the outfield walls in 10 feet!
September 29Sep 29 FWIW, I heard Nadel on Friday on 105.3 and he said (with the usual disclaimer that he hasn't asked him directly) that he would be very surprised if Bochy wasn't back based on their conversations.
September 29Sep 29 What's realistic at catcher? Higashioka is under contract for $6.75 million next season, I'm fine with him as a backup/extra bat. Anyone think that Hiem shouldn't be non-tendered or traded?
September 29Sep 29 Author If I never see Heim mope and pout walking away from the plate after flailing and missing, it will be too soon.
September 29Sep 29 Heim is disappointing. He had some real stuff in him a couple of years ago, but seems like he got too soft after the WS experience. He lost his edge and is just content with life, just my theory.
September 29Sep 29 Pretty sure every bullpen arm outside of Garcia is a free agent. Edited September 29Sep 29 by Elmer_Fudd
September 29Sep 29 The first of the three poorly timed Rangers children were born yesterday, with Josh Smith up first with a baby girl. Seager and Semien on deck.

CY has a brutal offseason ahead of him. Hope he makes the right moves.
September 30Sep 30 If we're pointing fingers about what happened this season, my first one is at that fat fuck Joc Pederson, and whoever brought him here. He came in completely out of shape with a clown attitude, just poisoning the clubhouse. Those stupid glow-in-the-dark batting gloves. Never intended on being a leader, didn't want to work. A shit show from the second he set foot here. The few sparks toward the end mean nothing. If there were a way to eat all the money we owe him and cut ties, do it. Get him as far away from this team and especially these young guys as possible. Though I know that's not going to happen.

Yeah, they would have cut bait with him after the God awful start except for the contract. So he will be back.
October 2Oct 2 Author If you didn't catch it yesterday, here's a great roster summary: https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/rangers/2025/09/30/texas-rangers-players-contract-status-mlb-offseason-preview/
October 3Oct 3 Author I don't subscribe and it shows up for me. I tried pasting but the tables got all messed up.
October 4Oct 4 He's young and leans into analytics. Hopefully he has learned some shit since his first stint as a manager that featured all kind of WTF. Edited October 4Oct 4 by ztejas
October 4Oct 4 Author Fine. Just keep Maddux. Then go sign Julio Franco as player/hitting coach. He's probably still swinging a bat somewhere in Mexico with an OPS 200 points higher than 90% of our guys now.
October 4Oct 4 I just wanted a little whelm That wasn’t the question. Who else would you rather have? And you can’t say Bobby Valentine

October 4Oct 4 Sgt Hulk’s whole shtick is to whine and bitch. Oh I’m well aware he’s a whiny, sniveling cunt. I just wanted to see one last time if he has any functioning brain cells or if I really should have put him on ignore a long time ago.
October 7Oct 7 Author Projected arbitration numbers from https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/10/projected-arbitration-salaries-for-2026.html I'm guessing top three, at least, aren't staying. Webb, Haggerty. Sure. Definitely Smith. That's a family sized Costco Kirkland organic bag of whatever bargain. Burger. Eh. I guess. Duran. Bye Felicia. Jung. Yeah, who doesn't want to see more guaranteed 0-2 strikeouts on a high fastball? Jonah Heim (5.097): $6MM Adolis Garcia (5.095): $12.1MM Josh Sborz (5.055): $1.1MM Jacob Webb (5.046): $2MM Sam Haggerty (5.007): $1.4MM Josh Smith (3.129): $3MM Jake Burger (3.127): $3.5MM Ezequiel Duran (3.050): $1.4MM Josh Jung (3.023): $2.9MM
October 7Oct 7 Question for those that follow it more than me - Does Evan Carter still have a (bright) future with the Rangers?

The question is more will Evan Carter be looking like the Aluminum Monster in a couple years... If he isn't in traction for his back every year, he could be very solid. That's a gargantuan IF.
