October 2Oct 2 Author Out In the replay era you have to learn how to stick on the bag you slide into. Edited October 2Oct 2 by WBT
October 2Oct 2 I was legit saying... htf can the fielder completely block the top of the bag with his leg and thats kosher? I know his leg wasnt in front of the bag, but literally using rhe leg as a bar on the whole base doesnt seem fair either

October 3Oct 3 Keller reminding me of the longhorn bullpen last year... hitting batters left and right, and when you have an 0-2 count not throwing the ball remotely close to the strike zone allowing the batter to not have to make a last second decision

October 3Oct 3 its nuts that called 3rd strike would have meant that fly ball was a 2nd out sacrifice to tie the game.

The Cubs were up 2 at the time, so it wouldn't have tied the game. And Chicago got screwed out of a run on the call on the Hoerner slide at the plate. Cubs should have been leading 4-0 going into the 9th. EDIT: On 2nd thought, I guess you're saying that the dribbler to 3rd would have scored one run and then the fly to center would have scored the tying run, so never mind my first comment. But my second sentence still stands. Edited October 3Oct 3 by Carl Spackler

Yeah, like I said above, on second thought I understood what you were saying. I initially forgot about the dribbler to 3B, and I agree that if the bases had been loaded at the time a run would have scored on that play and the other runners would have advanced such that there would have been a runner on 3rd when Fermin hit his fly ball. But, like I also said above, the score should have been 4-0 heading into that inning, not 3-0. It all evened out in the end, IMO.
October 3Oct 3 Author Looked like Gonzalez could have gotten to that but stopped. I guess the OFers were calling him off.
