  • Went to first game of season last night. Good times. Reed Sheppard seems kinda dumb. Holiday needs more minutes still. KD "off" night and still drilled 2 of the biggest shots As we all know..

Reed is my favorite draft pick of any Houston team the past 5 years.

Yeah, Ima go with Amen.

Sengun at #16 was pretty, pretty, pretty good.

The Athletic’s NBA Daily podcast recently redrafted the 2021 draft, and they had Alpie 4th. Madness.

I get Cade at 1. Mobley at 2 is debatable. Alpie is hands down better than Scottie Barnes. These guys are prisoners to All NBA Teams. 1 each for Cade and Mobley. Barnes was injury replacement in 2024. Alpie outright made an All Star team last season and is cruising for All NBA this season.

Scottie Barnes is a stud and his 2025 looks a lot like Amen with a 3 point shot.

That was a really good draft, in hindsight.

I guess we’ll disagree on Barnes being better than Alpie and agree on the depth and quality of the 2021 Draft.

No, I agree with you, but Hakeem forever made me partial to assisted points from the paint as the ideal aesthetic version of basketball.

That said, I doubt Toronto is feeling like they got a raw deal with Barnes or Cleveland with Mobley.

There’s like 10 great players in that draft and then there’s basketball energy vampire Jalen Green.

Yeah I didn’t want to mention Jalen in my original post. Thinking about Mobley or Barnes on the current team is painful and pointless.

I love the current roster. I’d sign Eason to a 1 year deal next summer and then let him walk. It seems to be the path for most RFA. Need to draft a replacement in the 2027 draft. Hopefully the Nets pick is top 5.

He’s been steadily gaining power but damn with Eason and Durant out as well as cave man. Dude proved me wrong. I’ll eat crow.

I'm not sure why you listen to Athletic podcasts. Seems like they're in line with the rest of the garbage that that site puts out.

The only debate to be had if you redrafted that would be Cade vs. Sengun. Sengun is the best player on the 3rd best team in the league (actually 2nd by both net rating stats but I'll give DEN the h2h for now). Barnes and Mobley are better/more versatile defenders but they are worse rebounders, passers and scorers. Sengun is a legit alpha for a contending team and he's a fucking dog. Crunch time in a playoff game your team needs a bucket - who are you trusting - Sengun, Mobley or Barnes? Please.

He's also a full year younger than those two guys. (Looking up how old guys are may be too much analytical work for The Athletic, though)

The bigger problem is we wasted that pick on fucking Jalen Green when he could of had Barnes and Sengun.

*could have

So….add Chris Paul after his release to play 10 playoff minutes a game?  Could be a good fit in high pressure situations where Ime just needs them to settle down.

Ring chase would be big motivation for him as well.

I like where your head is at. I think the buyout market is going to be pretty robust in February. I’d prefer McCollum.

how's minutes is he playing ?

Most likely Brooks when the situation calls for it.

Not sure I trust his health to play 10 min a game, #2018neverforget

I’m solidly Team Stay Put. Reed’s emergence and Holiday playing well have it a much easier decision, but they never really had the picks ammo to make a big move. I think they should retain and draft at least 1 first round pick every season. It’s the best way to manage roster churn.

Don't get me wrong...Amen is a beast and I love him but man he makes dumb decisions a lot of times

Adams might have the worst finishing skills I’ve ever seen from a high line big man. It seems like he catches the board, gathers, takes the ball low, and either gets fouled or the ball knocked away. He’s a grey offensive rebounder but he never finishes the put back. He needs to pop back up and dunk it. I respect the free throw stroke today though.

Adams dominating. Block at one end, gorilla dunk at the other

Best player on the court for 3-4 minutes

Went from 15 point lead to 34 in 5 minutes. Incredible offense

He’d be worth a bucket of picks at the deadline.

He has major health issues already.

Paging Jeff Green

Get these starters out man

I kind of wonder if teams are reluctant to do business with Danny Ainge because they’re terrified of him fleecing them? Simmons has said as much.

Lauri has no business being on a team that is ranking every year. Same with Kessler. Acquiring Nurkic was bizarre. He make $20 million a season. If they wanted to jettison Sexton to play younger guards, they should have gotten picks back.

Bailey was a great pick. Well done, but there’s not many other positives for the future.

Tate sighting. That was a quick trip to the RGV.

Can we stop trying to make Pocket Rockets a thing

Ideal blowout victory before tomorrow night's game. Kept Reed in the starting lineup with KD back. Guess we can still figure out rotations that way.

Keep stacking wins!

I think Ime is testing him to see how many positions he can play.

A nice quiet ass kicking on a Sunday afternoon. I’ll take it. Reed only scored 9 and Amen played his shakiest game yet this year. Good minutes off the bench for Holliday. Okogie got cute a few times on offense. Just stand in the corner and jack threes dude. You’re not going to take a NBA defender all the way to the basket for a layup or a dunk. His finishes on fast breaks are also extremely limited. Basically if you can defend the layup in any fashion he will miss.

Jazz are in a spot. It’s Lauri, Kessler (out for the season) Ace, and 6 guys that would struggle to find meaningful minutes on a good team. Maybe Nurkic is a 15-20 minutes guy on a playoff team in the East. The plan has to be to tank, trade Lauri at the deadline and Kessler before the draft, and hopefully get the BYU kid to pair with Ace. They’d be years away, but it’d  a nucleus.

this was a nice run by George lmao
