December 2Dec 2 Not ready to pen an open apology letter to Tate, but he’s played well and gave them a spark. Edited December 2Dec 2 by billfromlaketravis

December 2Dec 2 Starters were slow feet on D. First back to back of the year at altitude. Sleep tight.
December 2Dec 2 My admittedly reactionary thoughts after this game: - Reed needs to come off the bench. With him in the starting lineup with Alpi/Jabari/KD/Amen there is someone who's not getting the ball enough and it messes up the flow of our offense. Let him lead the 2nd unit at PG and if he's playing well, let him play in crunch time too. - Amen cannot be bringing the ball up late in a game when trailing. His instincts to find the open man are not great and he just kinda spazzes in those situations if he's not trying to score. - We definitely missed Steven Adams, Jazz have some size and his absence hurt. - Off night from KD. Bummer. - Utah played with their hair on fire. Hat tip, shit happens.
December 2Dec 2 They’re going to lose every game where they give up 130. Adams being out and the Jazz going full on Villanova- Georgetown didn’t help, but the team defense wasn’t there last night. I think they have to stick with Reed in the starting lineup during this might portion of their schedule. They don’t play another good team until December 20th.

He has a nice frame and potential but Flagg, Harper and Kon are in a totally different class. Queen looks fucking awesome. Edgecombe has cooled off but looks like he will be a 10-12 year starter or rotation guy. Fears has been great. Coward looks great but is a little older. I'd still take Tre over him because of the character and work-ethic and being an assassin from 3 but I could see that either way.

Probably recent bias given they just played the Rockets twice, but I think he has some Durant elements to his game. Really smooth and a nice shot.
December 3Dec 3 Starters haven’t been aboe to integrate Reed very well compared to him coming off the bench firing.

December 3Dec 3 Currently I agree, but I don’t think 6th man is his ceiling. He and Amen struggle together sometimes, they both have some glaring weaknesses (defense/shooting) that are harder to hide when combined.

Yeah, Ime doesn’t seem to want to play them together given his early rotations.
December 4Dec 4 So the Mokaram girl is AI right? Also Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds yelling into Space City’s mic is cracking me up.
December 4Dec 4 First Rockets game in 20 years tonight. Sat behind Kings bench. Schroeder is a funny dude. He looks 16 up close. Kings back row coaches were cool and were making fun of Raynaud because even though he has a career night on offense, Adams and Sengun just cooked him on the other end. They like that dude though. Russ seems like a good teammate all things considered - was helping Nique and Raynaud all night. Keegan Murray is a robot. No emotion. Doug McDermott and Saric are living the life. They knew they weren’t playing tonight and just had a good time dapping teammates and watching the baby races and other time out shows. I need that gig.

Russ is hilariously a bright spot for that dumpster fire of an org. 14 hours ago, ChickenSandwich said: Currently I agree, but I don’t think 6th man is his ceiling. Not sure what that means. Nothing wrong with being a 6th man on a really good team that closes games. I have to squint pretty hard still to see him as a starting 1 or 2 on a Finals team. Do the Rockets slide into CP's dms?

They can’t release him until 12/15 right? I was expecting a longer runway for Reed and Holliday extending into February. My short answer is, I’m not sure if the organization is ready to make a decision yet.
December 4Dec 4 There is no way you bring in Paul. He's an asshole that believes his way is the only way, and on top of it, he's not good anymore. I would be interested in Westbrook, because he can still play and loves to play basketball. The only problem I see with him and it's huge, would he be happy with the scraps left on usage to win a ring. He'd likely be the 4th option in the starting lineup behind Sengun, Durant, and Thompson, but damn adding his production and ball handling would be huge. Shit, he's making .371 BTA on 5.3 attempts this season. Tate's salary matches, throw in a couple of 2nds and make it happen. Then sign Tate back when the Kings cut him. More expensive than League Pass right? I’m happy for the Rockets diaspora.

December 4Dec 4 Locked on Rockets guy says Tari will be back this month, and DSF is targeting an early 2026 return. It feels like the Lakers didn’t have the depth to eat DSF missing 30 games and the Rockets were good with that? I’d sit Durant for a week when everybody is healthy, and not play him in another back to back.
December 4Dec 4 Well that won't happen because Ime is still playing starters with 3 mins left in the game up 20...or 8 mins left in the game up 30 etc. Paging Jeff Green is the damn call signal to get the starters out of the fucking game before someone tears something. Ime has to start reading the thread more closely.
December 4Dec 4 Take for its worth, but the Yahoo Sports hoops podcasters think Giannis is likely to be traded with the Rockets being the most likely destination. Their reasoning: - Giannis has likely played his last game as a Buck - Knicks don’t have the picks. - Spurs might pass because they’re such a young team. - Rockets have the young pieces and picks to get it done.
December 4Dec 4 The Rockets aren't blowing up this team for Giannis. The Bucks would want Thompson, Sengun, Sheppard, and picks for him. Fuck that. Edited December 4Dec 4 by HtownHorn
December 4Dec 4 Author I saw a trade proposal on espn that was Sengun, Van Vleet, and Phoenix's 2027 pick for Giannis. I'm doing that in a heartbeat if that is all it takes.
December 4Dec 4 I like our team and love the future PHX and DAL picks to reload as the roster ages/gets too expensive.
