October 17Oct 17 Nice to see our stay ready crew + Sheppard beating the Hawks's regular rotation. Edited October 17Oct 17 by HtownHorn
October 17Oct 17 Sheppard needs to start over the two big lineup. So much better spacing with Sheppard, Thompson, Durant, Smith, and Sengun.
October 17Oct 17 I always thought his injury would hurt more in the playoffs than the regular season, but i think a lot of people underestimate how much Jalen Green sucked on offense by trying to be the focal point over Sengun, Smith, and Thompson. Edited October 17Oct 17 by HtownHorn

October 19Oct 19 [Charania] BREAKING: Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant has agreed to a two-year, $90 million contract extension with the franchise, his business partner and Boardroom CEO Rich Kleiman tells ESPN. The new deal includes a player option in 2027-28

October 19Oct 19 Pretty obvious that his misadventures in Brooklyn and Phoenix showed him having a team with 2-3 stars and nothing else doesn't win in the NBA anymore.
October 20Oct 20 With the KD signing, the cap is looking tight next year, but the main guys are under contract. Keeping Tari for his QO next year may be the only way to stay under the first apron, because an extension will likely be around 20-25m a year + the other contracts to finish the roster. Otherwise they may have to trade someone to shed salary. Will be interesting to see, but that 45m number for KD is fairly important, because he was eligible for nearly 60m a year. If Sheppard shows anything this season, you are trading Van Vleet as soon as possible. No way you can carry nearly $40M between those two guys on the roster.

Eason is playing with fire; his injury track record makes it a dangerous self bet, and smart of the FO to not lock themselves into the first apron before playing a game this season. I love Eason, but he has done nothing to earn a contract in the neighborhood of Jabari's yet.

His QO next year will be like 8-9m for 1 year, which as I mentioned above, may be a necessity to keep him and avoid the 1st apron. An extension of 4 for $80m would be more than twice that for next year, and may not be feasible for the future of the team. He also needs to prove himself a bit more. Next year is the time for that extension, otherwise that QO will be his last year with the team, which isn't the worst thing in the world.

October 20Oct 20 The silver lining in no Eaton extension is that the team should get his best in what is essentially a prove-it season.

October 20Oct 20 Tari is awesome. Hope he stays healthy and has a big year. We'll figure out the rest later.

October 21Oct 21 I’d trade Tari for Derrick White. I have no idea how they’d have to structure that deal to match salaries.
