And oh yeah, he’s 6’6’’ so he can guard any position. You can’t be serious. If we're basing this on physical aptitude then we might as well trade for Jalen Green. I'm not saying your position is ridiculous, just that it's inconsistent. Castle needs to clean up some things, so does Sheppard. I like that Sheppard is hitting 40% of his threes on a team that needs that more than it does Castle's usage rate.
November 6Nov 6 Reed's offense will get him minutes 5-7 (2-4 on 3) for 12 points in 17 mins - no turnovers
November 6Nov 6 Castle is not a Point Guard that can be a primary ball handler and run the offense. Maybe he will become that one day, but he is not that now and wouldn’t be on this team. Reed isn’t either for that matter, but he did shoot 52% from 3 during college and had an insane 67%eFG for a guy taking a lot of distant shots. The team needs him to grow up more and get more confident in his shooting. He needs to be a reliable 3pt machine to earn his minutes, but he’s only 21 and has plenty of time to do that. Holiday needs some run as PG for a few games to see if he can do it. He’s not a bad player, but he’s the best option to step into that role with FVV hurt. I still think they trade for a PG in a couple months, but the market still needs to shake out who will be available. Derrick White has been shitty this year, but would be an excellent fit on this team. Not sure if the Celtics would part ways with him, but the possibility of those Suns picks could entice them. Plenty of opportunities ahead, and I trust this front office to do it right.
November 6Nov 6 nothing of substance but yes please Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus recently proposed a three-team trade that would solve Boston’s tax problems while also landing them a promising young guard in Reed Sheppard. The catch? The Celtics would have to part with White to make it happen. Houston Rockets get: — Derrick White — Haywood Highsmith — $5 million trade exception (Reed Sheppard) Boston Celtics get: Reed Sheppard — Jalen Wilson — 2029 first-rounder (via Rockets) — $28.1 million trade exception (Derrick White) Brooklyn Nets get: — Fred VanVleet — 2027 first-rounder Spoiler “White is already 31,” Pincus reasoned. “The Celtics use this opportunity to get younger at guard. Sheppard was among the top-regarded prospects in the 2024 NBA.com GM Survey (H/T John Schuhmann). Boston can afford to let him learn on the job in ways the contending Rockets cannot.” Giving up White is a big ask, especially given the role he’s playing for the team this season. It’s hard to envision the Celtics biting on a trade offer like the one Pincus is proposing unless White specifically asks out and pinpoints Houston as his desired destination. Boston likely will make another trade during the season, but barring a drastic change in circumstances, the deal probably wouldn’t include White. Instead, expect Stevens to explore smaller moves involving rotation players and/or draft capital that can trim salary without disrupting a veteran core that will be needed once Jayson Tatum returns from injury.
November 6Nov 6 We have the best offense in the NBA while we are still trying to learn how to play with each other and everyone says we need a PG. We don't need a PG, because they would do very little other than stand in the corner and shoot 3's. What PG can the Rockets get that you want him handling the ball over Thompson, Durant, or Sengun?
November 6Nov 6 I can’t lie. I’m really excited about this team. Still figuring shit out and not totally depending on KD. He’ll actually be the 3rd option on many nights. I hope he’s ok with that. Rebounding is ridiculous. Edited November 6Nov 6 by TonyTexas

November 7Nov 7 Keep Sheppard. Let’s see if he gets more minutes and can do something with them. I don’t buy Okogie for an entire season. There’s a reason this is his fourth team in seven seasons

Derrick White is great at defense though. In the playoffs our lack of D at the 1 will really show if they don't find someone else. He can hit threes, share the ball and run an offense when needed. I think he would be the perfect fit if Boston is willing to listen. Plus the Celtics are taking the year off, so sitting on FVV this year won't hurt them. Toss in a Suns pick and a couple others and they might go for it.
November 8Nov 8 Just when I thought Spurs fans couldn’t get worse, and then they did this. Big Red is 100% the only white guy in the Jackals.

November 8Nov 8 @billfromlaketravis Sheppard is having a great shooting game but Castle is abusing him on D, I get your frustration.

Quote There are two mandatory TV timeouts in each NBA quarter, which occur automatically at the first dead ball after the 6:59 and 2:59 marks of the period. The length of these timeouts is 3:15 for national broadcasts and 2:45 for local broadcasts. These mandatory timeouts are in addition to the timeouts that teams can call themselves.
November 8Nov 8 Fuck, impossible to defend Wemby on a fadeaway. Rockets are playing great besides some confusion on defense, San Antonio is hitting everything though.
November 8Nov 8 Castle’s top knot is regarded. Durant is having a rough game. Just now, TonyTexas said: KD with 8 turnovers is not acceptable. Two lazy passes in the 4th
November 8Nov 8 Who had money on getting schooled by Harrison Barnes and Julian Champagnie as the difference in the game? Edited November 8Nov 8 by LCHorn
November 8Nov 8 Sengun is your best player. He needs to be your late-game bucket-getter at least half of the time. Durant needs to step back a little bit and realize that he isn't the best player on his team. If y'all can figure that out you're going to be an absolute nightmare.
November 8Nov 8 TOs were maddening. Cause a lot of them seemed unforced. They just hounded us all night. Picked us up full. KD had 6 TOs himself. I mean he was asked to dribble the ball up the court at times. He’s not used to getting the ball there. Tari was dribbling the ball off his own damn feet at times.
