October 10Oct 10 That was fun stuff. I couldn't stay awake for the Cubs game, I see there will be another in that series. One question for guys who watch this more closely than I. That pitcher for the Phillies was mowing them down, until the two singles in the final inning. Was it the right move to replace him, with two outs, and not trust him to finish?

October 10Oct 10 I will confess that every time I see Andy Pages, I think back to last season when Bruin drunkenly pronounced that Pages was the leader in the NL Rookie of the Year race, and I had to google because I had no idea who the fuck Andy Pages was.

Part of it/all of it has to do with how the frames are captured when a high-speed object is filmed. It’s called Rolling Shutter. Rolling shutter is a process of image capture in which a still picture (in a still camera) or each frame of a video (in a video camera) is captured not by taking a snapshot of the entire scene at a single instant in time but rather by scanning across the scene rapidly, vertically, horizontally or rotationally. Thus, not all parts of the image of the scene are recorded at the same instant – however, during playback, the entire image of the scene is displayed at once, as if it represents a single instant in time. This produces predictable distortions of fast-moving objects or rapid flashes of light, referred to as rolling shutter effect. It’s why you see things like this
