Tech’s schedule is out - Texas is NOT making a return trip to Lubbock after they came to Austin

No Canady until the NCAA tournament then

Pretty weak nonconference schedule for them. At aggy for one game at their round robin tournament and some decent teams at Mary nutter.

FSU and Nebraska at Clearwater, Team Japan at Nutter, a midweek at FSU before UCF (we did that our last year in the Big 12 too)

But yeah, not super challenging at all. I’m sure they didn’t even offer to host us for a return trip

Texas has the 4th ranked class coming in for 2026, with the 2nd ranked pitcher in the class

The top 3 pitchers are all headed to the SEC (Florida, Texas, LSU)

Sophia Bordi, who reclassified class and joined OU early in 2025, is transferring after seeing no action at all last season

Weird and random

Sad story really. Patty talks kid into skipping her senior year of high school because Patty didn't expect Landry to be so good. Kid makes huge sacrifice for the program and Patty buries her on the bench. Should be a cautionary tale for future recruits.

Does Mia follow Baxter to…..wherever?

Unlike her boyfriend, Mia plays professional sports now. She’s currently under contract with the Austin pro softball team (I forgot their name, The Volts I think?)

There's more to it than that.

Rumor is Sofia Bordi is transferring to Texas.   But, she will have to sit out a year.

Hopefully we schedule a weekday game against UTSA so we can present Mac with her ring pregame.

Would be nice to do it at home.   We open 6 Feb at the UTSA Invitational (UW, Nebraska).   Great tournament.  Their site does not yet have info on tickets or '26 sched.   GA season tickets are only $65 if you are thinking of driving down.   May be worth it if attending all games.  Singles may be limited due to stadium size.

Checking other schedules:

UH  Fri, 27 Feb (DH)   Their sched shows they are playing UIW @ McCombs Sat, 28 Feb,  seems like we may be hosting a tournament

@ Texas St,  Wed, Mar 25

Baylor, Fri, Mar 20  @Baylor Sat, Mar 21

LSU, Florida, and aggy have posted their complete '26 sched.   As the norm,  we screw around to the last minute.   I don't fall for "waiting on contracts to be signed".

Curious if Texas can appeal the one year sit out rule with the SEC office - she didn't play a single inning in 2025, regular season or fall ball, so why punish her and make her sit out 2026 too?  She'd start her athletic freshman year in 2026 fall ball / 2027 regular season and finish 4 years of eligibility after the 2030 season.  She'll be like 24/25 when she is a senior.

Someone on Reddit posted a rumor that she is eligible bc she was NOT enrolled at OU in the fall. The Elish exemption?

A Christmas miracle!!

Show me a loss!

We play @ UTSA before our first home opener in Austin, so it would be odd for us to present Mac with her ring before the rest of the team gets presented theirs. I wonder what they decide to do

It's a really bad home non-conf schedule for fans, except I guess the OKST midweek and Baylor.  Our best non-conf games (Nebraska, UW, Arizona, Stanford) are all away from home.  Though Nebraska and UW are just a short trip down 35.

Granted, our fans get to see aggy, OU, arky, which is good

And our trip to Lexington is good, solely so we have some experience in the ballpark for the SEC tournament being hosted by UK this year

I imagine next year will be our year to host a tournament with Arizona and Stanford since we went to AZ last year, and Stanford this year.

I wonder if some teams are iffy about coming to Austin after we had like back to back years of games cancelled due to funky February/March weather in Austin.
