69 years old and hard of hearing.  An old deaf guy driving a grease truck.

Sanchez' old lady is an actress and she just finished that Chad Powers movie with Glen Powell.  I wonder if he was in his feelings about his wife getting stretched out on set.

Also, regarding Sanchez, that's bizarre as hell.  He's either got a pretty serious drinking problem or there were some drugs (including prescription) involved in that.

Horrible.  Poor old man was fighting for his life against an animal.  Also, all the 'gay' jokes are not funny.

Every once in a while I will watch Colin Cowherd. Dude has zero football knowledge and seems to actually manage to have even less with each passing year if that’s possible. At any rate, a few weeks ago he had Mark on his show. My first thought (and yeah it’s amplified by current events) was Mark looked off. Flat. Monotone. Unkempt looking. It was an odd appearance imo. Not sure what is going on with him from a mental health standpoint or personal one but his brief appearance on that show (and he has popped in as guest on multiple occasions) was just odd. Just throwing it out there but something did not seem right with him. He looked and acted way different from his previous appearances on that show.

what happened is disturbing. A 38 year old 6’2” 220 lb former NFL QB drunk out of his mind vs a 69 year old 170 or so pound guy who was just doing his job. As an advocate for victims, and the 69 year old is a victim, I don’t care for any insinuation he brought this on himself. Or that he was doing something nefarious. The video footage collected from the nearby Marriott hotel absolutely verifies this man’s version of events. Otherwise the cops would not be charging Sanchez. Cameras do not lie.

as to what is going on with Mark…maybe it’s just an isolated incident (nothing in his recent background has anything remotely like this not even rumors)  with Mark getting that loaded but something tells me something ain’t right with him. Could it be CTE? No idea but his last appearance with Cowherd a few weeks ago was just odd. And yeah it’s easy for me to say right now bc of what just happened but I notated it at the time bc it was unsettling to me.

TLDR: the 69 year old victim did not bring this on himself. He is a victim pure and simple. There isn’t anything shady to his being in the alleyway and the camera footage collected by police back up the victim’s account as well.

Below is one of the best articles I could find on the incident which includes all the new information from this morning’s charges:

Yep, fuck that. That needs to be felony charges and jail/prison time. But he has money and a name, so we know how that goes.

He will come out and make a public apology, tell us he is doing rehab, etc. But Sanchez could have easily killed this man. This isn't doing something goofy or spouting off drunk on social media.

He sounds like a piece of shit who has an alcohol/substance abuse problem and needs to serve time.

Is it clear to anyone how the old fella got the gash in his face?

I agree that he was clearly the victim, but his pulling the knife does kind of give me pause.

#135
Man how shitfaced do you have to be to get pepper sprayed and keep coming?

Maybe he was just used to it? Didn’t he get in some trouble out of high school?
#136

Ruining your career by beating up an old man while drunk because you were annoyed where he parked is definitely a choice…. This dude is either going to spiral much worse or change, I’d bet on the later with his new free time.

The narrative states that he had already pulled the knife and stabbed Sanchez when he was violently thrown against a dumpster and tumbled onto some pallets. My initial guess would be that he was holding the knife when he fell and his cheek was cut as he hit the dumpster, pallets, or ground.

He used pepper spray first. Then switched to knife when that didn’t stop the attack.  He is probably sure to have some self defense measures for a job that has him alone in city alleys overnight.

Don't get me wrong, I don't question that it was self-defense or that he feared for his life.

It's just a knife is a pretty intimate way to defend yourself.

He pepper sprayed Sanchez prior to stabbing him and in the words of the victim (which is supported by cameras) Sanchez kept coming at him the knife wasn’t the victim’s first or even second option. He tried initially to de-escalate whatever was going on with Mark by saying he (the victim) would call his (the victim’s) manager. Then it just went to shit from there. The victim did all he could not to be in any kind of altercation with Sanchez. All supported by cameras footage.

This is, without a doubt, the worst thing any former USC football star has done.

The guy was working. Pretty much every place of business says firearms are not allowed on the premises. Pepper spray seems like a good first option, and if that isn’t effective, a knife is the second option.

He may very well have encountered situations  in his working career that deemed a knife necessary. Hell, he may have carried a box knife for work purposes. I haven’t seen any details on the type of knife.

Unless I missed it, we don't know what kind of knife he used.  Lots of blue collar types keep pocketknives or exacto-type razor blades on them for work.  If the pepper spray didn't work it'd be real easy to go to that as a last ditch while it not being specifically kept on your person for self-defense.

I can only imagine the panic this old man was feeling.  He's just doing his job, can't hear a damn thing because he doesn't have his hearing aids in, it's dark, and then a big as fuck athlete type starts going all aggro on him.  Can't talk him down, starts getting punched, pepper spray does jack shit, gets pummeled worse.  I'd be scrambling for anything on me to try and dissuade this guy from continuing to kick the shit out of me and I'm half that guy's age.

Yeah something not right there clearly. I only mentioned seeing his recent appearance on Cowherd’s show because it was in major contrast to his many prior animated jovial appearances. I wish I had a video of some of it. I just remember noticing it enough it bothered me. Then googling his name to see if he was going through anything (like personal shit) that might have been mentioned in the news and there was nada until this incident.

Are you saying that @Bevo&Pevois Kathy Lee? Just kidding but my mom’s generation was so “scandalized” by Frank’s affair with big tit blonde lady it tilted their world on its axis. I did think Kathy’s appearance on David Letterman where she took off her bra was hilarious though after the scandal.

Why on Earth would Sanchez give a single fuck about where a work truck is parked at midnight? Nothing I've read indicates that he was driving and the truck was blocking him, for example.
