Yet again we watch an offensive gameplan built around slow-developing downfield passes burn to rubble like the Hindenburg. Sark proves time and time again he is unwilling to change his play calling style to fit his personnel.

It’s maddening in year five that we cannot consistently run the ball or protect the qb. Sark completely mismanaged the offseason roster priorities and we’re now seeing the effects. Why we didn’t acquire at least one or two new OL is beyond me.

Sark and Manning must be aware that the OL is a liability.  If so, the plays should be called - and executed - to mitigate that liability.  Not sure that is happening on either front.

There is no way Arch is a 2-star or 3-star QB who got boosted to 5-star simply because of his name. All the premier programs didn't want him just because of his name. Sometimes 5-stars don't make it. It happens. His story isn't done yet. And I'm a critic

Nah, let's be honest. It was his name and that he played against completely inferior opponents. He may get there some day but he's not the talent he was claimed to be. He self sacks almost as bad as Ewers. He makes terrible choices when pressed. He shows flashes but the majority is just mediocrity. He is probably a great QB when the competition is subpar like Sam Houston State. I guess we'll see how he does against OU but I suspect he'll crater under the pressure which OU will bring plenty of.

Just be glad Lagway was playing on one leg and no threat to run the ball. It would have been a lot worse.

FSU. aggy and BlowU were all complete dogshit teams in a death spiral last year in 1 year all are better than us and will butt fuck us all over the field. 1 year

  • How many sacks did Florida have coming in to this game? 3? They had 6 today
  • Florida had 33 points total in their last 3 games. They scored 29 today!

Maybe they saved their playbook for us

There are people who can learn multiple things at in a compressed time-frame (multi-processing is a mirage though), my feeling is that Arch might not be one of those. What I mean, is that behind a decent OL, he might have just had to focus on timing, going through his reads and so on. But now you add to that, getting a better sense of a broken pocket, sliding to avoid the rush, learning when to throw away and when to take a sack, and when the sack is lethal.. etc. It might be a bit much for him. Again my only hope is that this an immersive type learning year for him.

Probably covered but why did the clock keep running after that guy caught it and went oob on Floridas last possession? 40 seconds gone

No idea. FLA went out of bounds and it was 2nd and short, clock stopped. I thought it could’ve been a clever play to jump offsides intentionally to give them the first down and rob them of at least one play. After the penalty but before the snap on 1st and 10, they wound the clock. Seemed incorrect and cost us 35 seconds.

my hope is that CDC forces Sark to make changes. He doesn't want to lose. I don't care what anyone says, he loves the Director's Cup, and football is one of the main catalyst to getting it. Here's to hoping CDC tells Sark he needs to make some necessary decisions, and it might be a good idea to hire an OC.

My professional opinion (and I’ve spent many years not coaching or playing football) is that our O-line is very bottom tier and our D-line has been sniffing its undies and thinks they don’t stink. And that, in combination, is hard to overcome.

His uncles played at the same HS. Was the competition better then? I don't think you can just narrow it like that. Do I think his rating was warranted? No. But I don't think he is a 2-star/3-star as quoted above. Low 4-star is about accurate.

Our offensive line would barely qualify for flag football. We're that bad. These dudes have been in the program for a minimum of 3+ years (Baker is an outlier), and look at them. They're fucking dog shit. Worse than dog shit. It's like watching a dog lick its ass after taking a shit.

Whoa! That's not true. I'm pretty sure our OL is leading the nation in penalties!!

There was an old Thujone comic of an o-line man in bed with a lady that kept coming prematurely - I wish I could find that evergreen frame

I'm surprised, with Arch on deck, that we rolled the dice on this OL instead of hitting the portal for proven players and buying them out.

Not that it would matter, as Arch plays bad when OL is good and Caldwell threw the best pass of the season in his one chance tonight, but still, FLA just crushing us with 4 DL is not what you might expect.

Imma be real.... We aren't even a top 40 team. We are fucking terrible. Sluggish. We have WR's that are allergic to separation, an o-line that has no fucking idea what their job is, and get tossed around like an inflatable pussy. I can't even watch anything sports related without hearing about how shitty we look. We HAD one of he best DE's as a frosh, and he's being criminally under used for whatever fucking reason. We don't need him to drop into covering, that's what a nickel is there for.

We don't have a talent issue, we have a coaching issue. And Ryan WIngo needs to spend an hour plus working with a JUGS machine, because I swear to fucking God that dude is hit or miss. He could have hauled in that pass in the 4th and just bumbled it. Ryan Williams, Dallas Wilson, Jeremiah Smith ALL would have hauled that in, and I know for a fact that they both work with the JUGS machine daily. It's why they catch with their hands as well as having strong hands to pull the ball down with them. I've seen their commercials and you can see them on YouTube (Williams and Smith). They don't take time off, they put time in until a coach tells them it's enough for the day. They work because they want to make it to the league, and especially as a first round pick. Wingo CAN do that if he put in that kind of work.

Our lead RB isn't even 200 lbs. Think about that. He's 190 lbs and they want to run him up the middle with this o-line? What kind of stupid ass motherfucker thinks that's a good idea? He can't punish trams with bigger LBs. We have 3 other RBs just sitting there. If nothing else use them as a lead blocker, because Wisner can't block because he's too small. It's fucking unbelievable, man. Aside from Gibson fumbling, get Clark and especially Simon some real game experience instead of standing there like a dumb fuck fumbling around your stupid call sheet. Both have great hands, and Simon is electric. He doesn't need 20 carries, but God fucking damn, give him at least 10. Something.

Who knows. Maybe he just doesn't have it. Peyton couldn't beat Florida. Eli could. No one would sniff at taking Peyton. Maybe they're just made of sterner stuff than Arch. I don't only blame him. This OL is about as bad as we've seen and that's f'ing criminal. Same with the running game. He is getting no help out there. Flood needs to fuck off to somewhere else. How many penalties did his OL contribute today? How many drives did they help kill? We're basically asking Arch to be 2009 Colt McCoy in his first year as the starter. It's not surprising that it is overwhelming to him. It is a fundamental failure of the coaching staff.

There isn't a subtle "gimme" game left on our schedule.  We're in deep shit. Like, Mike Nirvrll deep shit.

I negged you, for a reason. I will lose my shit but this game was humbling to the point it should not have been. You seem to be lost in the herman and strong years and I vividly remember trampling teams 70-7. I want it back. And it should be expected. But we keep fucking it up. It makes me angry to the point i leave and dont watch the games anymore.

Man, I get it but life is much better when you don’t let this shit get you worked up.

Kyle Flood needs his ass whooped, his group got taken to the woodshed. The D-line has also not been what was advertised. Just genuinely disgusted

Need to change the overall offensive philosophy with this team if we want to have any success this season. We don’t have the speed nor the blocking to create long explosive plays. Turn this team into a power running team, turn Arch into fucking Sam Ehlinger and try to get 3 yards at a time with Clark & Gibson. Trying for chunk plays was fine with golden, bond, worthy, Mitchell, blue, helm, etc. this team has nobody of that caliber on the outside.

Just add a bit more misery to this thread, how much different does this game go if Taaffe could jump on the fumble on the first offensive play for Florida.  I'll go drink more now.

When you get ass-raped on both lines like we did today, it would have made no difference, so enjoy your drink without what-ifs

If the offense does not get it figured out, don't be surprised when we see guys portal from the D.

Are you portaling in 5 new o-lineman mid-season? Because the guys we have can’t punch their way out of a wet paper bag.

They ripped his helmet off...and that worked out for them.

Huh

Yeah I'm still trying to work that one out in my head to where it makes some sense. So if the offense has to take a 10 second runoff when the defender rips the QB's helmet off, then why don't defenders just pull offensive players' helmets off all the time in that situation?

I disagree that he self-sacks like Ewers.

He handles pressure much better.

But he's still slow as fuck getting the ball out, and that might lead to sacks.

Also, to take a break from trashing the online and Sark, our D gave up 457 yds.  Two weeks ago, Miami gave up 141 yds.

This OL has never been good.  There have been times that Arch wasn't pressured much, but they've never blocked a decent running game.

Who the fuck knows what might have come to pass if we could generate a running game.  And that's mostly on the OL.

Is there a link to Sark’s presser? Does he take any responsibility for how poorly prepared we were in all phases of the game?

Does anyone who covers this team ask hard questions?

Sark has to answer fashion questions when Lorreal is clearly the fashion "expert".  You don't think that's hard for him?
