Coach Sark Press Conference 10.6 - 11:30am (LHN app or ESPN app)

Featured Replies

Texas is physicially dominated on both lines of scrimmage by a 1-3 Florida team in the swamp and turns to the Cotton Bowl for one last chance to make this season mean anything.  Coach Sark will address the media at 11:30.

Looks like it will be a toasty 90 degrees on Saturday in Dallas. Remember when RRS games were played in Fall-like weather? Happens less often these days.

I’ve been to every game since 1985 and only a small handful have been “fall like”.  Most have been warm/pleasant and several legit hot.  A couple of monsoons. But OU game does not conjure up memories of Autumn

First words out of his mouth should be “ Flood is no longer with the Texas program…anything else is shit.

Yeah, it's rarely fall-like for the game. One extreme in the last couple decades give or take, pretty sure it was 2000 when it was miserable, high 40s and light rain.

And then the game happened. Brown and the first of his four Black Saturdays in Dallas. Treating the game like a picnic. 246 - 65 over those four.  Such fun.

At least this year we don't have to worry about Sark calling in Mack to give the ol' "Hey kids, losing this game won't ruin the season so the important thing is that you go out there and have fun" speech.....

What we’re seeing is so catastrophically bad, he just cannot roll out the usual coach speak.

Should we all take a shot every time he says "our/the standard"...and a double every time he says "the standard is the standard"?

Sark thinks we didn't play well on either side of the LOS.

I forgot who it was but someone from 1300 said if you go by how intense both sides looked during warm ups, ou was going to kill us

Solution:
gotta coach better. gotta play better.

Sark said the oline is more than capable to play better than they played Saturday. Hmm

Asked about personnel changes on the line of scrimmage.  Got to Coach better.  Got to play better.

first 3 questions are about the o-line.  also Sark looks like he's sweating a bit.

Did he go for his walk before the presser?

We might have the worst OL in P4 and the season is almost half over. We are way past “golly we just need to coach and play better”.

But yeah, I know, what else is he supposed to say.

Brown bald-spot paint is a little too dark, little too wet. But it goes well with CoachSpeak.

This seems to be Sark’s problem. He can’t recognize these guys can’t play better or maybe he does and realizes there is no immediate solution.

And y'all are concerned?

Dude doesn't get paid the big bucks for nothing.

Man that is some hard-hitting analysis Sark.  Although that is probably the depth of analysis that the mouth-breathing Austin media can comprehend.

I mean...he's not gonna name names on who's out....he did mention Nick Brooks and it sounds like he is part of the plan going forward.

What do you expect him to say at this point?  There isn't a waiver wire.  It's beyond obvious there isn't a solution.  It's clear now this season was fucked months ago when Sark and the rest of the staff convinced themselves this offensive line would grow enough to be serviceable.

Flood hasn't had time to help Brooks regress yet, give him a season

A true freshman being part of the plan going forward tells you all you need to know about OL personnel.

At least the media’s asking better questions. He’s of course defensive. Maybe delusional.

Paraphrasing Sark just said “let’s see how the other 135 FBS teams do if they played at Ohio state and at the swamp”.

what an awful attempt at deflecting criticism given the fact USF beat Florida at the swamp a few weeks ago. USF

Wait, what? Sark's offenses at least look dynamic? I am uninstaling chatgpt right now.

That was in response to a stupid and unanswerable question by Kunt Bowels, so I'll allow it.

it's also hard to say that Sark displays conservative decsion-making under pressure (how many times does he go for it on 4th down rather than kick a FG?) and that back to back CFP playoff semifinals is underachieving relative to roster talent.

Stressed.  Feel for the guy tbh

you feel for the guy making 11 million a year in a 7 year guaranteed contract for  having to answer very basic questions about why he is failing on the job?
