what an awful attempt at deflecting criticism given the fact USF beat Florida at the swamp a few weeks ago. USF

It was a bit of a trap question though, asking him how stunned he is. What’s he supposed to say that doesn’t create an embarrassing sound bite. He’s not wrong, I don’t think there are many teams that would have beaten Florida Saturday. Our offense was always going to be bad in this game, but their offense was dialed and they bullied our elite defense.

To infinity and beyond

Any team that can scheme to get pressure on the QB and has an accurate QB themselves would have beaten them.  I’d guess that’s 20 to 25 teams.  So 25/130 I guess is not many.

He needs to own the loss in absolute terms, not in platitudes. He needs to say that it's an unacceptable level of play that happened and he's doing everything in his power to change things so that it never happens again.

He's not doing that right now. He's saying they got beat by a good Florida team and just didn't play up to their ability. What we watched wasn't a team not playing up their ability, it was a completely unprepared dogshit performance and saying anything other than that is disingenuous at best.

Another conference I didn't hear him say "the standard is the standard." I just want him to say the quote he said for a couple of years now and say the team isn't playing at that standard.

Sorry nobody asked: Coach, your QB was sacked, hit, pressured, or forced to scramble on about eighty percent of his plays. It looks like OU may have an even better D than Florida... how are you planning to fix that?

Tom Herman 1-0 reference.

A lot of programs have used and still use that mantra of going “1-0” in prep for games, so I didn’t get a Herman flashback. A Herman flashback would be if Sark said “Winning is hard”

They were 1-3, including a loss to South Florida at home.

This is the type of shit you might be able to say if you had a crack shot game plan and most of your team played really well but you just had a few unlucky plays not go your way. When you say this type of “winning is hard” bullshit after a complete catastrophe of a game from all sides, angles and dimensions, well, that’s infuriating.

Probably a repeat of  "Play better.... Coach better...."

It’s one thing for our offense to shit the bed, but defense travels and we all know PK fucks. I think we can conclude that Florida’s offense played the best it has all season Saturday. Of course, now they have to go on the road to aggy so I’m sure they’ll look inept again.

I don't suppose anyone asked why we put a true freshman tackle into the game at LG, instead of the guy who was the presumed starter all offseason up until we boarded the plane to Columbus. Because that might reveal useful information and we can't have that.

"Sark, shifting to this weekend.... Do you like the pirate ride? That's pretty cool right? When you hit the high point you really feel it in your stomach. Thoughts?"

They didn't exactly score a fuckload...I get that you are saying they played out of their minds and at their ceiling, but it just wasn't that good. Texas legitimately shit down it's leg.

Clear demonstration of innumeracy. Ain't nobody playing themselves, so that's at best the other 134...

No wonder we keep failing at "fourth and two, men, let's get a yard."

Agreed with immamac. This was a piss poor performance against a 1-3 team. Just say that.

They missed 2 two walk-in touchdowns to guys that were wide fucking open, the OL kind of shit the bed, we were lackluster on defense (I thought the long TD was OPI tbh), absolutely didn't get the benefit of some holds on key downs, and lost by 8. It was a WINABLE game, just like tOSU, and they just plain shit the bed. Hell, I wasn't mad at the playcalling today; guys were open.

There was even a mention of explosive plays! No run-through of the stats though

I hope I’m completely wrong but it’s starting to feel like the comment about reporters’ faces when they take a shit was the inflection point to the downfall of this team’s season (and possibly Sark’s career at Texas). Something about that comment really fucking rubbed me the wrong way and felt like some shit fuckface Herman would say. I really don’t like how Sark has handled this season and his lack of awareness about our situation is starting to show in his comments to the media.

Hence my earlier post saying snarky and sarcastic works when you are a winner.  Now may be the time to tone it down

What do you expect him to say at this point?  There isn't a waiver wire.  It's beyond obvious there isn't a solution.  It's clear now this season was fucked months ago when Sark and the rest of the staff convinced themselves this offensive line would grow enough to be serviceable.

I would have preferred something along the lines of “we need to find solutions along the OL” If all the guys behind the current starting 5 are worse we are fucked. Robertson needs to start at C. A complete open competition at LG. Any anyone that wants to challenge the Tackles should be able to do so too.

Sark is correct in the thinking that the team was pretty close to pulling off the win. Where he's incorrect is that they didn't and because they didn't they were actually never close at all.

Sark has an issue realizing what reality is instead of what he is perceiving from his vantage point.

When you look at the ESPN text based game tracker, the game doesn't look all that bad for Texas outside of a few things here and there. When you watch the team and have seen what is happening it's a fucking train wreck.

129th out of 136 in penalties for the season. Always a telling stat.

I don't see it above but one of the more telling responses was when John Hygh asked Sarkisian: "Coach, you praised your team for how hard it fought in the second half so how do you explain not doing so in the first half after two weeks to get ready?'  What was telling was that Sarkisian didn't really have a response.

In this day and age, the vast majority of coaches are not gonna give you the blunt sound bites that make you feel better. Particularly Sark. He runs a tight ship and wants to keep things in-house as much as possible.

Nothing should make us feel better anyways besides a better and improved product on the field.

I think the team was arrogant enough to believe the records and their preseason hype and expected to show up and win.  In some ways, the schedule really f'd us this year starting @ OSU and then having 3 games that were never going to be in doubt.  I'm with Imma that I don't know where the leadership is on this team.  I'm not surprised by the offensive performance (although the disaster of the OL clearly worse than I imagined) but was really disappointing to see our defense show up and give up that long TD drive first possession and then turn around and do it again after we cut it to 10-7.  That's bullshit and not being as mentally prepared and ready to play as your opponent.

All five starting OL have bruised vaginas and are questionable for next week; hopefully they can gut it out.

Also, the most adversity a lot (almost all) of these guys have encountered is a playoff loss and close losses to comparable teams.

All that preseason chatter about our defense breaking sack records now seems a million years ago. Have Collins, Burke, Spence and Hill really combined for just 2.5 sacks in 5 games? That total literally would have been an average Saturday for Kiki DeAyala.

We were talking about this on drive back from game.  I don't get it.  On offense (OL in particular) it's clearly a personnel clusterfuck that Sark and his staff completely mismanaged or misevaluated.  But I don't get the defense as we've watched these same guys completely dominate.  I'm trying to think back to the last game (even a game we won) where what was on paper an inferior unit completely outplayed us.  Maybe OU in 2023 when Gabriel went off?  Washington scored a lot of points in '23 but that was a really good offense and Penix played an elite game.  Lagway played solid but our D flat out just got whipped at the LOS and we haven't seen that in forever.

This team is basically the aggy eye patch dog of college football teams. My expectations are below cellar and I’m not even cancelling golf outings anymore for this team

If we hear of a players only meeting then we know we're truly fucked this season.

Dysfynctional teams that are almost dead last in penalties committed in the nation probably aren't organized enough to hold one of these.

We can only hope they beat aggy after all chest thumping they are doing now with their number five ranking and our fall out of the polls.

An aside, how in the hell did aggy get three SEC games in a row in College Station?

This is where I’m at. Anyone that has ever been around head football coaches will know how they are and how they process a game. Most games are a few plays here and there from being a different game and while we view it from a fans perspective which is we expect to win 42-3, sark is going off what he sees as a head coach which is we lost at Ohio st 14-7 and at Florida 29-21 and both game we were driving to tie the game and both game we had drives that should have ended in a touchdowns but didnt(tosu fumble at the 1, two missed wide open td passes vs Florida).

Sark sees us 4 plays away from being undefeated right now and thinks he would get the angst if we had lost 35-7 in both games.

Not sure why everyone expects him to say anything different when he also gets softball questions from the media.
