Aren't they effectively at this point?  Any time the Trump admin loses a case they care about, they just pick up the Supreme Court bat phone and any injunction will get stayed with the quickness via the shadow docket, with the promise of "getting to the merits eventually" ...

There’s few of the national guard cases like Chicago that he has not done that with and you know he wants to smash us heathens here.  

Just as a thought experiment, if you had asked Stephen Miller three years ago about the powers of the presidency, what would he have said?
