Friday at 06:33 PM5 days I'm beginning to think Dylan Harper could be the first option, and the offense would be damn near unstoppable. But which guard would you bench? Mitch is from the Pop school of minutes management, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to burn all three stars' quality minutes simultaneously.
Friday at 06:49 PM5 days Harper reminding me of some kind of combo of Magic Johnson and George Gervin.

For the time being, I think he should come off the bench and run the second unit like they used to do with Manu, Take Vic and Fox out, let him run pick and roll with Kornet against the other teams backups. There's plenty of minutes to go around and it's a long ass season. You saw them try to close out the Knicks game with Fox, Harper, Castle, Vassell and Wemby. I think that's where they would ultimately like to go depending on matchups. Every one of those guys (with Vassell being the obvious weakest link) can hunt the poorest defender and get a shot off / get to the rim / get fouled at really high rate. Harper is virtually unguardable after 16 NBA games. He gets to the rim at will and finishes as well as anybody with either hand. He never turns it over. He plays really good defense. He reads the pick and roll and finds the open guy with amazing consistency. And for past couple of games he's been on fire from three. I don't know what the ceiling is for him, but this is the floor. Barring injury, this is the worst version we're ever going to see of this dude and I'm almost ready to say that he's already better than Tony Parker ever was.

Barring injury, this is the worst version we're ever going to see of this dude and I'm almost ready to say that he's already better than Tony Parker ever was. I remember Tony as being quicker but, one, his jumper wasn't ever as good as Harper's seems like it already is and, two, Tony lacked the physical tools to be as good of a finisher as Harper already is, so much so that I always felt like his teardrop became such a prominent part of his game as a way to compensate for that. It was beautiful, novel, and frustrated the hell out of opponents. Tony's speed and quickness generated a lot of his interior scoring, and if he didn't quite have confidence that he'd beaten his man he would go to the teardrop. I don't remember him going for contact or just taking it right to a defender the way Harper does. The most impressive part to me is that it looks like Harper is taking it right to a defender or even splitting multiple defenders, but his body moves so fluidly that it looks as if he was completely untouched. Reminds me of a 5'3 running back slipping through gaps and getting out into the open field, but Harper is not a small or wiry guy. He's got superstar written all over him.

I'm on board with the rest of your comment but that's a bit much. Parker went 20/8/3 on 52/35/84 splits in '13 for a Finals team and finished 6th in MVP voting (he finished 5th the year before). Harper certainly has the tools to quickly be a better defender than TP ever was.

I don't want to get too into the weeds on this especially with how great that 2013 team was around Parker and the limited sample size we have on Harper. But look at this per 36 min comparison and per 100 possession comparison. That we're even having the conversation 16 games into this dude's career is insane. Again, this is the worst version of this cat that we're ever going to see unless he gets hurt or plays until he's 40 vs peak Parker with 10+ years under his belt.
Saturday at 01:11 AM5 days I've seen a lot of basketball, and I can't say that I've ever seen many as smooth as Harper. Lucky lucky for us. Edited Saturday at 01:12 AM5 days by Pam Cummings
Saturday at 02:02 AM5 days Vassell is having himself a game. And that lob to Wemby was sick, I'll never get tired of that.
Saturday at 02:08 AM5 days Just flipped over. Should have just been watching this from the start of this evening. We might be pretty good, guys. W3MBY
Saturday at 02:12 AM5 days Feels like DV is hopefully turning a corner. More aggression and confidence less playing like a bitch the past few weeks. He's always had the skillset.
Saturday at 02:16 AM5 days Wemby is fucking retarded. Off the glass to himself to earn a trip to the line. AND HOW ABOUT THAT D VASSELL!!!!
Saturday at 02:31 AM5 days Sochan is shot here. He needs to go somewhere else. Still love the kid and I'll root for him, but it's time.
Saturday at 05:06 AM5 days I have nothing to add except fucking Luke Kornet is awesome as fuck and is a huge reason for this team's success. I can’t believe they got this beautiful, screen setting man.
Saturday at 05:11 AM5 days Anyone feel like we still need someone else down low? Especially come playoff time Edited Saturday at 05:13 AM5 days by BurntOrange&White

I agree, but I think it’s time we all poured out a little OE for Jeremy’s time with the Spurs. Olynyk seems like an emergency big. Hopefully we never have to see Biyambo again.
Sunday at 02:42 AM4 days Spurs are now the 2nd seed after Denver's loss today. Coming into the season, if you had said the Spurs were going to be the 2nd seed a quarter into the season, I would've laughed at you and called you delusional. Go Spurs Go, bitches!
Monday at 01:06 AM3 days This Vukcevic dude is a serious chucker. Their entire team is just ridiculously incompetent and superfluous. Wish Tre could have gone somewhere else.

Monday at 01:15 AM3 days Pop probably benches Castle for doing that but if Mitch is okay with it I'm okay with it.
Monday at 01:25 AM3 days Author The wiz are one of the worst 5-6 teams in the league to begin with. They have little chance against the spurs at full strength. They got no chance with this mash unit they’re putting out there tonight.
Monday at 01:47 AM3 days They mentioned something about a beef between Olynyk and John Wall. He's kind of like a Zaza figure to them.
Monday at 01:54 AM3 days Tre J lighting it up. Also Jesus Christ Branham is getting minutes for them?
