November 19Nov 19 We have some of the dumbest fucking players. Okay that's a bit much but we do a lot of dumb shit. Edited November 19Nov 19 by ztejas
November 19Nov 19 Calling for a challenge on that is embarassing. Shut up, scruffy. Edited November 19Nov 19 by ztejas

November 19Nov 19 "Sochan we only have 6 minutes for you tonight" (2 games later) "Alright Sochan you're playing point guard. Lace em up."
November 19Nov 19 We got absolutely worked on the glass but took care of the ball, shot better than they did and picked up some points at the line. I think Mitch had the right guys in the game most of the 2H, too.
November 19Nov 19 Got to catch the last 10 minutes, I'll take credit for that Barnes heater. Officially on Sochan watch now. If he goes another week shooting over 40% from 3 (he's at 53% for the season), there's no way he can stay playing less than 20 mpg, right? I really just want to see him continue to fight for his rotation spot. If he unlocks another level, fucking perfect.
November 20Nov 20 Author They needed that one last night. Schedule gets tough going forward. Atlanta (at home Thursday) has been playing a lot better without Trae. Then it’s a pretty brutal road trip- Phoenix, Portland, Denver and Minnesota. They could easily go 0-4 over that stretch. They need Castle and Harper back in the worst way to try to help hold down the fort until Wemby gets back. Also want to give Olynyk some love. He provides zero rim protection but he knows how to play. Huge upgrade from Biyombo if they can get him and Sochan to serve as backup platoon center to Kornet for time being. One other thing about Wemby. If he doesn’t hit 65 games he doesn’t qualify for postseason awards and can’t get the super max extension. Might be a blessing in disguise as long as he’s healthy most of the time.
November 21Nov 21 Nobody watching? Sochan and Jones Garcia out here competing for player of the week awards.
November 21Nov 21 At the game tonight. Keldon is on fire from 3 so far. Good game from a David Jones Garcia so far as well.
November 21Nov 21 Hell yes. This is better. I know it's the Hawks without Young and the Grizzlies without Morant but these guys without Wemby, Castle AND Harper are impressing. JONES GARCIA!
November 21Nov 21 Didn't watch tonight. I like how these guys continue to TCB. Really nice rebound from those two Ws games. Fox is playing like an all-star again and the glue guys are gluing. I still think we have work to do to contend in the West and look some of these other teams eye-to-eye but the foundation is looking good. These next four will be another litmus test - Phoenix and Portland don't suck and DEN and Minny are obviously WCF contenders. Steal one or two of those and we should be fine - we just need to keep winning at home and against shit teams until some of the cavalry returns. We will all just pretend that Sochan didn't go 0/5 from 3 tonight - although I like the 5 dimes, 0 turns and just 1 foul.
November 21Nov 21 Author Last night was the first game I've attended this year. There are certain things that you get watching in person that don't come across on TV: Specifically, Sochan's jumper still is a disaster. While the hitch is gone, he moves the ball across his face before releasing and there is still sidespin on the shot. The jackals... not a fan. I get what they're going for but it feels like you jammed the student section of a college game into 5 rows of an NBA stadium,. The rest of the crowd really isn't involved with whatever they're doing and if they are like me, they find them mostly annoying. Maybe it will take a while for them to find their place in the game but right now they are non-stop. I would hate it if my seats were in that section. Last night, we were two sections over and it was still too close. I love Jones-Garcia. Ignoring for a minute that he's a three level scorer who can create on his own, he picked up Dyson Daniels 94 feet and completely disrupted Atlanta's offense. They really don't have minutes for him once Castle and Harper get back, but I've seen enough between summer league and now to feel like they should give him some sort of Champagnie-like deal where they can keep him for cheap for multiple years. This is the best basketball Keldon Johnson has ever played. I still get a knot in my stomach when he launches a three and he's fucking traffic cone on defense, but he's found his calling as a hustle guy off the bench. Fox is such a pro and his bbiq is undervalued. He sees stuff before it happens on both ends. He understands that he's supposed to get his teammates involved early and then take over later when needed. I still don't know how the fit is going to work when Wemby gets back, but they might be better off playing through him and letting Wemby be more opportunistic off-ball instead of running shit through Vic where teams can set up more easily to defend him. I haven't seen much of Risarcher so he might have just had a bad game, but he was the worst player on the floor last night. Thank god we dodged that bullet in the draft. Any games that aren't against the dregs of the league that they win with this Mash Unit of a team should be considered gravy. I have a feeling the next 4 are going to be rough.

Look at European basketball fans and the home court atmosphere they produce. Or European soccer fans like the yellow wall of Dortmund behind the goal I love going to Spurs games. But you go, you watch the game, you cheer when good things happen, maybe you chant "De-fense" a couple of times... Outside of the playoffs, there's no real atmosphere. They want fan engagement. They want chants. They want songs. And they want it all season long.

College just has a way better atmosphere. I hope the spurs can do something to make it more fun. They could start by playing less fucking music all game and create some chants beyond "go spurs go."

I’ve only been to one game in Moody but I endured some of the dullest and most lifeless basketball environments of my life in a half filled Erwin Center. Bob Weltlich, holla. And even when it was filled, it was still generally pretty sterile. Hell, I was at the strollin Nolan game which was off the charts as far as UT basketball environments go. I’ve been to hundreds of Spurs games going back to the Hemisfair arena. Yeah, you’re going to have some clunkers here and there when the team is down and it’s a 41 game home schedule but overall? You can miss me with Texas basketball ball game having a better environment than your average Spurs game and don’t get me started about the intensity of a Spurs playoff game.
November 24Nov 24 Olynyk is getting too much run for my liking. Would be nice to see more Carter Bryant.
November 24Nov 24 Author After careful consideration… still hate Dillon Brooks. Spurs need to defend the three better. Tighten their shit up on defense.
November 24Nov 24 I can’t quite put my finger on it (and maybe it’s most of our starters being out) but we need another piece or two to really be legit contenders but idk where

There is nothing wrong with the roster from a basketball standpoint that needs to be addressed this season. We still have a ton of draft picks, too.
November 24Nov 24 In terms of what's on the books Vassell's contract is bad but not killer and we owe Fox too much money but not by a lot.
November 24Nov 24 Vassell tries to force too many dumbass shots. Dude just isn’t that kind of player. Defensively, just got killed on the perimeter again.
