October 26Oct 26 Recovering and closing that out was nice, even if it's Brooklyn. I'm raising my season win prediction from 80 to 81. They'll lose one at OKC when SGA gets 43 free throws.
October 26Oct 26 The energy was great in the arena today. The 3rd quarter sucked, but I'm glad they fought back and closed it out. Harper was magnificent. Castle had a rough offensive day. I thought Wemby had a rough game, but then I looked at the stats and they look great. We just need to have our guys hit their shots more often when Wemby passes out of the double team. And everyone needs to practice their free throws. Keldon has been great this season. And from Harper's post game interview, it sounds like he has really taken Harper under his wing and they're the main energy guys on the team. I love it. Oh, and the Jackals section was a lot louder and in sync today then they were in the preseason. I know they're a bit cringe at times, but if they can keep it up all season, it's pretty cool. A lot better than I thought it would be. GSG!

October 27Oct 27 Oh, yes. Before the game started (after the anthem and player introductions, but before the tipoff) they had Peter Holt come out to center court and he told the crowd to go vote. I don't remember everything he said, but the gist was go out and vote yes to make the Spurs and the city of San Antonio better, and it won't cost you anything, it'll cost the Spurs and visitors of San Antonio. The crowd cheered and seemed in support of it. I do feel like he was kind of preaching to the choir, though.

Yeah of course the people that paid money for the Spurs would most likely be in support of nearly anything that the Spurs themselves are in favor of. The majority that are against the Prop A and B are those that do not give a shit about the Spurs or basketball/sports in general. So at the very least you'd think they would be neutral to it since Spurs playing in downtown does not affect them nor will their local city taxes go directly to the building of the new arena. But the dumbfucks at COPSMETRO and others want to rain on everyone else's parade and have stubbornly justified their stance on false talking points like "I don't want my money going to billionaires". That's why when I try to talk about Project Marvel to these people, I don't talk about Spurs or basketball. But instead talk about how other shit that they might actually care about is impacted from conventions at the Convention Center to big events and major concerts at the Alamodome. And all of that shit the Spurs have agreed to invest $500 million towards.
October 27Oct 27 Look at this shit. He was also +33. Gonna be hilarious if he turns out to be a better player than Flagg.

October 27Oct 27 I pulled Zarko's name out as a joke, then actually looked up what he has been up to. One, he's had multiple heart attacks. But then check this out, if Wiki is to be believed. Spurs family shit. Hell, MY family isn't this kind to each other: Quote In November 2017, Paspalj was reported to have suffered a stroke while visiting San Antonio. After spending some time in hospital, Paspalj moved to the home of San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, where he was visited by his former teammate Vlade Divac, who reported that the worst had passed but that Paspalj was only beginning to communicate again.

I'm not saying the citizens shouldn't vote for it, but the notion the entire project will not cost the citizens anything is complete bullshit. They are mostly funding the arena with the hotel and car rental tax increase, but that won't be sufficient to fund the entirety of the project. Not even close. They're being disingenuous by saying no local taxes will fund the arena, which could be true, but a lot will be needed to fund everything else in the project. Also, I've seen nothing about who will cover cost overruns. Guarantee that means the city will. These projects are intentionally underestimated to get them passed, then the inevitable cost overruns will hit the taxpayer. I just hate these lying and deceptive tactics they take on these projects. Tell the truth and let the citizens know what they are voting to get and how much they'll have to spend.

Tell the truth and let the citizens know what they are voting to get and how much they'll have to spend. So you are part of the problem if you claim complete bullshit without backing it up with anything and therefore default to assuming locals will cover some payment for the Arena especially for cost overruns. And the fact that you say you've seen nothing about who will cover cost overruns means either you're poor in your research or you have been gaslit by the dumbfuck COPSMETRO people. So to answer your question on who will cover cost overruns, the Spurs themselves will cover that as already laid out in their non-binding agreement: "The Spurs will contribute all cost overruns and amounts necessary to finish the construction of the Arena in excess of the amounts required to be contributed by the City and the County...." https://www.scribd.com/document/904664083/Sports-Entertainment-District-Term-Sheet Now, if you and COPSMETRO want to claim that this non-binding agreement itself is all a lie, then nobody can help you there.

October 28Oct 28 Wemby's offensive move additions are giddy inducing. Broadcast note that he's scored the most points of any Spurs player ever in first 3 games of the season.
October 28Oct 28 Toronto played 5 hours later than us yesterday and had to travel. Not that surprised we are running them off the floor so far. Let's see if we can put 4 quarters together tonight.
October 28Oct 28 This arena vote push is such bullshit. How much are the PSLs going to be? How much are tickets going to cost? To go to a game is going to be non-affordable for a majority of real fans. See how the average Buffalo Bills fan has been priced out with their stadium next year.
October 28Oct 28 Great basketball. Quick tangent - why is Sochan dressed like Hyde from That 70s Show?

Quote https://news4sanantonio.com/news/local/fans-question-spurs-ticket-affordability-as-project-marvel-vote-nears-local-news-near-me-crime-law-public-safety “I think one of the things we always want to highlight that is happening today is we make 1000-1500 tickets available to fans that are $25 or less,” Spurs chief legal officer Bobby Perez said in an interview on Tuesday. “We have another cohort of tickets that are $12 or less. And so, today, fans can access our game and come to the game Friday night or next week.” Perez said the Spurs will continue these programs and look for ways to expand them in the new arena. “As we look forward to a new arena, we want to continue to be robust and allow San Antonians a chance to come in and watch the hometown team at the new arena.” District one councilwoman Sukh Kaur says the city is committed to making a new arena affordable and accessible to local fans. "This is an incredibly important part of the project, which is why we fought so hard for a community benefits agreement that has yet to be built out,” Kaur said. The proposed arena would be built in Kaur's district. She said the $75 million pledge by the Spurs for community benefits, which was upped from the original $60 million after the Mayor intervened, can also go toward programs that make games more affordable for local families. “I think accessibility for viewership, whether it's making sure you can go for free at the park, or whether it's giving away tickets to our nonprofits that can make sure families that have never had a chance to go to the game have access, is incredibly important,” Kaur said.
