They ‘probably’ don’t need the help?  Lol.
Their differential is the best of all time by a mile.  Of course I prefer my vintage bulls and how they did it but in today’s game I’m not gonna cry.  They get a whistle.  They’d win regardless.  I’ve never said otherwise on here.

OKC is a great team, possibly an all time great team, and they're probably going to win 70 games and the title again. But their record and point differential at this point of the season is a little bit of fool's gold. I said it a couple of weeks ago, but they have played the weakest schedule in the league and they've had some opponents injury luck as well. Granted they've been without Williams almost the entire season but they're so deep and they've been getting teams into garbage time so early, that their second unit keeps pouring it on so the numbers are a little skewed. Credit to them for being  damn near 15 deep, but they are running it up on some scrubs. That isn't going to necessarily help them come playoff time.

Go back through their schedule and tell me what their best win of the season is? Maybe opening night at home in 2OT against Houston? They smashed a mostly healthy Golden State at home. They beat Minnesota by 8 at home in a cup game. I guess they smacked the Lakers without Lebron pretty good. Maybe the league is a bit overrated this year?  I'd really like to see them match up with Denver. I'd like to see them against Houston again. I'd like to see them play anyone from the east with a pulse. Those two games against the Spurs over the next 10 days should be fun, too.

Wait. Are you saying you would take Chet over Wemby? Ok Nico.

Saying OKC/Chet aren't "built for this" is big talk from a 21 year old that missed half the games last season and half so far this season.

Check back when he's +70 games in the regular season and then a deep playoff run.

I’d actually reference their point differential last year and not this year if I’m making my case.
No disagreement with anything you said.

I'd agree with all that.  The two teams that worry them the most are Denver and SA (if healthy).  Jokic is just a fucking load and Wemby gives them problems on defense because they take a lot of mid range.  SA is still pretty young, though.

They're still easily the best team if they shoot reasonably well.  That's why I wouldn't read to much into that cup game.  They just shot bad and they did last year out there as well.  Maybe it's the arena and the depth angles.  Who knows?

I don’t think so. I think they’ll win 67 plus games unless they have horrible luck. It’s one of the best teams I’ve ever seen even if the game was called straight and on top of that have a sixth man on the floor at all times.

If you look back at the playoff games OKC lost last year, it was mostly the ones where Williams laid an egg shooting.

Also, the Spurs didn't shoot particularly well, either. Barnes has been their best three point shooter and he went 0-8 from downtown. Harper was 3 / 13 from the field. Wemby only played 20 minutes. Not sure either team really played their A game.

Regardless, I think we're looking at the next great rivalry in the league over the next 5-ish years. 12 people outside of San Antonio and Oklahoma will watch it.

Dude, hasn’t he played a higher percentage of his NBA games than Chet?

I’d guess Chet has missed at least 10% more games but point remains they’re both fragile.

Here’s the issue.  OKC without Chet is still the odds on favorite.  SA without Wemby can make the playoffs and that’s about it.  Although they’re much better without him than I’d have guessed.

Neither have been great but at least Chet played 82 games in a season once and 10 games in those playoffs.

It's amazing how instantly insecure the OKC fans become after losing their biggest game of the season and seeing the Boogeyman hand them an L despite playing just 20 minutes. Saw some comment on instagram from some rando saying the same "we'll win it when it matters!" shit. Maybe SGA can massage his vagina to 12 FTAs next time we play.

Take the fucking loss, pussies.

Yes so insecure.  This from the guy who said Presti doesn’t go a day without regretting the Harden trade.  Literally the dumbest comment I’ve ever seen on these boards.

Oh okay so the Harden trade is good now since you won a title 12 years later. Thanks for clearing that up for us.

Lol.  So he still cries about that trade?  Have you ever succeeded at anything in life?   You dwell on the past?   Really odd comment.  But maybe that’s how you live…

There’s two of them. They can probably just text each other.

This is the best game I've seen all season.

jonas v fouls out in 14 min lol
And Houston fans think the refs were bad. JV and Jokic both fouled out.

damn it...i fell asleep trying to listen to the game with my pods connected to my laptop and missed the final 3 min. woke up and checked they were starting OT and fell back asleep instantly and missed the entire OT lulz

Can someone tell my why the Clippers are so bad?  I didn't think they'd be great but The Nephew and the Strip Club Warrior are playing and putting up numbers.

They're the 3rd worst record in the league at this point and the inevitable season ending injury to The Nephew hasn't happed yet.

Because they are the Clippers.   The Clips will ALWAYS Clip

They’re old. They played the wolves last week which was my first look at them, predominately healthy.

They were already old before they added Lopez and Paul who were 2 of the oldest FAs next to horford they could’ve added. Lopez shoots terrible 3s from 34 feet out.

I don’t think hardens the threat he once was.

No youth anywhere on the roster for them to turn to.

They run out of juice after the 1Q. Kawhis clearly not then dominant player he was 5-10 years ago. Still a decent shooter but he’s not the shutdown guy you once feared

After him they don’t have any defenders outside of Dunn so that’s what you get. It’s a mess. OKC licking their chops at the cherry on top of one of the most lopsided trades in sports history

Yeah they were the oldest team in league history before they cut Paul

The nephew is a bum and a loser. They should have never traded Norman Powell. Harden was playing for a contract last year. They are old as fuck. And as mentioned, they are the Clippers and they do Clipper things. I think Ty Lue is one of the best coaches in the business, but they may be tuning him out at this point.

That may be one of the dumbest videos i have ever seen

Makes sense but they were old last year and still made the playoffs and almost the second round at that.  Maybe they just finally hit their wall.

OKC already got Shai and Jalen out of this and they could conceivably have two top five picks in the next two drafts.

Who knew Normal Powell was the glue holding the Clipper's ship together last year.

Well it was a clear downgrade going from Powell to John Collins, whos utterly worthless. small PF, cant rebound, shoots under 50%.

Their bench goes from Batum, Bogdan Bob, Drew Eubanks and Derrick Jones. Decent bench, Batums a good veteran smart defensive player and the others will keep you afloat with at least Harden, Powell or Leonard out there with them

Now i dont know what their bench is, Brook Lopez is terrible, Kobe Sanders, kobe Brown, Bogdan and something called Yanic Konan Niederhauser.

I’m good.

I cant seem to give a single fuck about the NBA cup.

So now the 3 NBA Cup champs are...

See if you can remember without looking.

Spoiler

LA Lakers over Pacers

Bucks over OKC

New York Knicks over Spurs

The NBA Cup seems to be improving and it does make Fall NBA a bit more interesting.

Are you stupid or something, Chet was drafted a year before Wemby and has played in 6 more games than him

Wemby has played in 43% of games.  Chet 30%.  They’re both in the same class of fragile.

edit: looked that up few days ago after I guessed they were 10% apart.  It’s close to what I quoted above.  Take wemby’s minutes restriction rest of this year and they’ll likely get closer to percentage playing time missed.

He's on a minutes restriction the entire season?  That makes the "built for this" even more cringe.

They haven’t stated it but yeah imo they’ll be extremely cautious with him.

nobody over 30 will care, but the players care, and it’s going to become a big deal at some point in the future, the equivalent of the FA Cup in soccer. the young guys in the league are mostly rich, cultured, and fans of soccer, plus we have a ton of international players for whom this kind of tourney is old hat. those guys care, and while the rest of us really don’t care right now (in the competition’s infancy), i’ll bet you that in 10 years it’s become a really big deal.

They always have been and will continue to be extremely cautious with him as they are with all of their players coming off injury. But he's not on any sort of permanent minutes restriction as far as I know. He played 20 minutes against OKC. 25 last night. They are just ramping him up.  He was playing ~35 minutes a game before he got hurt. He's 21. You guys are dreaming / being ridiculous.

With regard to comparisons to Holmgren, you're the doctor... you tell me the likelihood of the deep vein thrombosis coming back to be something chronic or that is career altering? That seems like a one off, especially in the upper body. Chet, on the other hand, had a lisfranc injury before he ever played an NBA game and fractured his pelvis. He seems a lot more fragile to me and he doesn't look like he's filling out the way Wemby is even though he's two years older.

I hope the Spurs remain extremely cautious with Vic not only for his long term health but also to the point where they keep him out enough to not hit 65 games and isn't eligible for the super max. Helps their cap down the road. As long as he's healthy for the playoffs...
