Shit.  A friend of mine plays in Ace's band.  I came to know that guy through totally different channels, but I was an absolute KISS fanatic in middle school.  Still one of my favorite bands.  Guess I have a phone call to make.

I’ve got posters on the wall.

My favorite rock group KISS.

I’ve got Ace Frehley.

And I’ve got Peter Criss,

waiting there for me, yes I do.

RIP, Space Ace.

Like many, Ace was my guitar hero, and the reason I play. This one hurts.

So you see, that's where the trouble began. That laugh. That damned laugh...

As a kid living halfway across the world in the 80s in a strict Christian household, I about wore out this 45 when my brother brought it home from college. I knew of Ace Frehley before I knew of his fellow “Knights in Satan’s Service” … 🙄

RIP

Is he the first band member to go? Man what an icon. KISS was never big for me, but I love their hits and had a few friends who loved them. Born in the early 70s I was a little late for them I think. RIP.

Wow. I just reclaimed my albums from my brother for the turntable I got for my birthday…Destroyer, Alive and Alive II being among the most coveted ones…looking back, it was so fucking cool to be a preteen/teenager in the ‘70’s

RIP Ace

This is Peter Criss and Jerry Nolan of the New York Dolls, but I get the sentiment.

Yeah, but Ace is up on that cross.

My step brother (same age) and I were super into Kiss in late elementary/early middle school.  I remember him dressing up as Ace Frehley and I dressing up as Gene Simmons probably the last halloween we wore a costume to as kids.

Written by Russ Ballard for Hello, funny enough.

The world being the way it is, Gene Simmons is probably immortal.

This one hurts a good bit.

RIP Ace Frehley. In 1978, you gave my sister the ability to introduce me to rock music. I still have the second copy of the 8track after I wore out the first one. Should have bought the record I came across a while back.

But this album absolutely fucks.

When I was young I was sent to live with my grandma. I was kinda nervous since I really didn't know her that well, but she dressed like Gene Simmons from KISS to cheer me up, she's the sweetest person in the world.

That’s fucking cool.  Your grandma rocks.

From 1979, Kiss on Tom Snyder. Ace Frehley was known as the quiet one, but this day, high on coke and drunk, took over the show, much to the disdain, as you can see, of Gene and Paul. This clip is legendary. 😂😂

"Actually I'm a plumber" Might be the best Ace line, ever. It's rough going forward, boys.

pretty damn cool ...

Stargate Trivia: Todd the Wraith's facial tattoo was a tribute to Kiss lead guitarist and occasional lead vocalist Ace Frehley who was rumored to be a fan of Stargate: Atlantis. We even tried to get him on the show, but the scheduling never worked.

Ace return during Kiss’s MTV Unplugged performance-pure rock ‘n’ roll resurrection! The crowd lost their minds when Ace and Peter strolled out during “2,000 Man.” This jam session ignited such deafening fan demand that it sparked the full 96 reunion tour https://t.co/KPQNf1NCsL

Going to add some great Ace songs to this thread. Let's start with the best song on side 4  of Alive 2, Rocket Ride:

Ace with Richie Scarlet and Anton Fig, for one of Antons drum course VHS classes. Fucking on fire

So I just learned yesterday that my dad's old boss in the 80s was Aces uncle

Really dug this song when I was in high school, and didn't know it was a cover until years later.

I also had a KISS lunch box in elementary school.

RIP.

It would have been a lot cooler if you'd kept that KISS lunchbox through high school.

Found my old 8 track. Showed it to my son, who responded, "I didn't know they made a KISS video game.

I have Kiss Meets the Phantom on laserdisc. Have come dangerously close to mounting it on my wall over the years.
