What you have to understand is that men of the GOP and its sympathizers are completely and totally without honor.  I'm dead serious.  I recently had a professional experience with one of them -- associated with a prominent GOP cause.  And the lack of ethics and honor was among the worst I've seen in an of my years of practice.

They are sneering abusers with no honor or integrity.  Which reveals the core truth: they are gutless cowards.  Every.  Last.  One of them.

In all seriousness, what a pussy. I'm not saying it's his job to defend her positions or that she can't defend herself, but I'm astonished that a male Texan of that generation would just stand there while his friend speaks to a woman that way in public, let alone a colleague.

Really? From the same party and state as ted Cruz? Seems like treating women like shit is on brand

Yeah, but she's not white, so are you really surprised?

Dude.....there is no ratio.  The ratio is zero.  It's all just mocking him.

God, his descent into complete dumbassery, misogyny, and racism has been so sharp.  It's among the most pathetic devolutions of a human being I've ever personally witnessed.

I remember the days on the old site when the posters were mocking the idea of a GOP war on women.  Years of, at best, ignoring misogyny is coming home to roost.

Bingo.  On the same day that a sitting US Congressman called a colleague a "bitch."  Yeah, the GOP doesn't have a problem with misogyny, like, AT ALL.

It's like the entire GOP has a daily to-do list that consists of one thing: "It may be hard, but today, you MUST do something that makes people think even less of you."  And goddamit, they make sure to check that box...every fucking day.

This corruption brought to us by Citizens United. Householder set up a 501(c)(4) to take in a $60 Million bribe and use it for strictly political purposes. And got caught. (How often do they get away with it?) It was to facilitate a $1+ Billion bailout of a pair of nuclear power plants and resulted in a fee being added to every Ohioan's electric bill. Householder funneled the money from his 501(c)(4) through a number of other entities in order to pass House Bill 6 then defeat a ballot initiative seeking to overturn it. Along the way he pocketed $500,000 for himself, took another $300,000 to settle some personal legal bills, and another $100,000 to put toward a house in Florida.

I just watched the press briefing. FBI Special Agent Chris Hoffman acquitted himself well delivering what details he could. He made a solid impression. The investigation is ongoing and I'd speculate is going to get dirtier. Hopefully Householder goes to jail and fucking Trump doesn't find an excuse to pardon him. But bribery, though, that's the sort of thing Trump likes to pardon...crimes that he himself can be accused of.

By the way - in his most recent tweet he's responding to pushback from the Chief Congressional correspondent from the Washington Examiner. You know, the Republican friendly paper.

And micropenises -- so, the party of things that AREN'T a big deal.

If there's ever been a party that screams the exact OPPOSITE of "big dick energy" as loudly as today's GOP does, I'd love to hear about it.

Of course, fascist jackboots loyal to the regime felt the need to shoot exploding pepper shots at a woman armed only with [checks notes] her naked body, so.....yeah, we know the kind of folks we're dealing with here.

What kind of name is Yoho, anyway?

Didn’t know is was anything more than the common greeting when South Austin’s mom meets you at the front door.

Yeah, I long ago figured out that if I'm in a business where they prominently display GOP items or Christian items, that's a business where I can expect to be suckered so I'm better off finding another shop.  That was more true in B to C interactions but I'm starting to see it more in B to B interactions as well, which is scary.

Wait, I mean, I guess it's also one of the last refuges for a "respectable job" for open racists and misogynists, so there's that.

I know I've shared this before, but even 25-30 years ago, when I waited tables, the #1 correlation to being either a shitty tipper or abusive customer (and oh-so-often, it was both) was "anyone who makes a big deal about how Christian they are."  If a table made a big show of holding hands and saying grace, usually loudly enough to proselytize to all around, it was a stone-cold lock that they'd abuse their server and leave a shitty tip.

See a Jesus fish etc. prominently displayed by a business?  Run away, don't just walk.  Nice little on-point meme:

Yup exactly my experience.  If I'm doing business with you and organically find out you are Republican or Christian, we have no beef.  If you are pushing it at me from the time I walk in the door, you are up to no good, and you plan to stiff me if you can get away with it.  People that hide behind their symbols to absolve them of shitty behavior piss me off.  And when the symbols are right out front for everyone to see, that usually means they won't have to wait long to see that shitty behavior.

I'm kind of disappointed that Robert Murrow lost his runoff, cuz iirc, Mackowiac promised to set himself on fire if Morrow won, and I was hoping to see that.

I look at it differently. They are advertising how shitty they are. We all know you don’t trust the person that introduces themselves as not a cannibal. Unless they drive you crazy.

I only put up with them driving me crazy if they are fine and young cannibals.  Otherwise I'm right out.

Man when these dudes switch back to being full fledged republicans they're gonna be a fuckin problem. I've yet to see them miss.

The real cherry on the corruption sundae was the fee Ohio residents had to pay with their energy bill to help bail out the power plants.

In the Portland thread, workswithseed mentioned the damages caused by protesters and the costs assessed to that damage. I argue that the damages both financial and physical caused to taxpayers by officials like Householder are tenfold greater and last for generations.

Well yeah.  They created the Trump Godzilla by constantly attacking Dems over bullshit.  They nuked bikini island when Obama and Clinton were President, and now Trump has risen out of the waters.  Now they have created Mechagodzilla to fight Trump Godzilla.  For sure, Mechagodzilla is going to come destroy the city after it gets done with Trump.  Everyone knows that.  Dems need to bring in at least Mothra.

Come On What GIF by MOODMAN

You're not paying attention. The electorate is getting younger and they won't stand for the politics of old. If you need a model for what i mean, see AOC. Love her or think she's an idiot socialist doesn't matter here. She's the embodiment of what the younger generations want to see in their leaders. There is no going to back to anything here. We're in a whole new era. There is no predicting what happens from here. Is that to say the Dems won't fuck up along the way? I'd bet a nut the Dems absolutely will trip over their dicks along the way. But their voters will hold them to a higher standard than Republican voters have their elected officials. And that matters in this election more than people are talking about.

Republicans are hoping the brainwashing took.

This. Dems need some bad Mothras to come through and clean things up.

It's fascinating to watch the Rs turn on Liz Cheney for being "disloyal" to dotard.  How is this not a cult?  If someone on the D side started bashing a D congress person for "not being loyal to Biden", they would rightfully be scorned.  They have deified dotard and it's fucking insane.

It's the Freedom Caucus. They have some folks with some juice in the House. Jim Jordan, Louis Gohmert, Chip Roy, etc etc. They don't publish their membership (intentionally) so some of them fly under the radar but the ones that had committee assignments (like Jordan and Gohmert) during the impeachment were some of the more egregious characters with respect to framing everything for sound bites, talking points, etc. They are the biggest Trump group and w.o knowing a whole lot about how this stuff works, my amateur view is that is why they evolved out of the Tea Party--that's who elected Trump so rebrand and resolidify and then audition for the future.

With the Democrats, though, weren't some people bashing Bernie and Liz when they didn't endorse right away or was that just regular folks and media and not their colleagues? So much crap has happened I can't keep anything straight. Or am I misunderstanding what you mean by not being loyal?

And by the way, not for nothing, but I don't think Republicans really have the standing to make comments about decorum anymore, and fundamentally, that's his play here.

I don't recall anyone in congress bashing them for not endorsing Biden.  Maybe you're thinking of people on this forum going against B_T for going insane against Biden and hanging onto Bernie like grim death when it was clear he would not be the nominee.

Maybe. It seems like a million years ago those Democratic debates with Bernie, Harris, Booker, et al. We're all a little war weary after three years of not stop campaigning (by Trump not the Democratic Party).
