i know some posters are really committed to the #bothsides position...but for some reason we rarely see any actual posts or stories about equivalent dirtbags, criminals, con men, psychos, perverts, etc., on the other side of the #bothsides. the ratio seems like 100:1 or something. weird. i mean sure we have a whole thread about Hunter's laptop but there's just not a lot of meat there, except for his giant dong.

the only thing i can figure is the adrenochrome must make the 'other side' invincible? it's a real puzzler! 🤔

I don't care where you fall on the morality spectrum or the Christianity spectrum or whatever floats your spiritual boat.  You gotta hand it to Satan's PR/media relations team.  The guy was a minor angel.  Sure he was on the varsity roster and lettered, but he was not all-creation 3rd team or anything like that.  Depending on the version you're reading of the Bible, he's mentioned only between 40-60 times total across all books.  His death toll barely registers in the double-digits, a mass killing that would barely register in modern day American gun culture.  While he certainly planted some dangerous seeds like any cult leader or fascist despot, he never personally laid waste to entire cities, peoples, or temples.  Guy was a one-term nothing-burger, but thousands of years later---he persists.  I don't know if it's socialism or the makeup/wardrobe of his followers, or just the general debauchery of it all...but he should have been a Trump-like footnote in history.  Instead, you've got elected and high-ranking appointed public officials constantly citing him for the ills of society...and incessantly attaching him and his works to the progressive movement.  Which would work more effectively had it not set up the perfect metaphor---Satan/MAGA conservativsm v. Jesus/progressivism.

The little that I do know of Satan is there he was licking his wings, ready to return to Earth and aggregate the forces of evil as an affront to the God who banished him.  Waits patiently for the emergence of a False Messiah to set into motion the final days and his immutable plan.  A cunning, brilliant, deceptive, chameleon of a man who could move between peoples and nations with no effort and bring about vast and tectonic change to the whole of humanity.  Calculating but pure, cunning but seemingly benign, as smooth as silk, with the warmth and comfort and wisdom of the apostles themselves.  Such a man would begin the end, and Satan's Playbook would have its seal broken and Satan himself would ride upon our world.

Instead, he got a failed game show host from New Jersey who apparently has trouble with the 7 activities of daily living.

This dipshit is from Ohio.  Years ago I was rezoning some land in Valdosta and had to go in front of the Board of Commissioners (an easy place to get land upzoned, btw, unlike Florida were the future land use rules were codified in 1985).

There was a kid like this on the dais in some kind of "youth participation" program.  I asked the broker afterward why and she in somewhat reverent tones "He's being groomed for politics."  Like that's a good thing, some asshole with no actual life experience looking for a shortcut in life and doing what his owners tell him.

So the presumptive nominee for the Republican party is speaking at an event put on by a guy who just called black people too stupid to get into college?  And people are just ok with this?

Unless I just fundamentally misunderstand prayer (which is entirely possible) I'm pretty sure anyone can pray at any time. It requires nothing but your mind, thinking you're actually talking to someone.

One thing that I’ve never understood about prayer in school is that there are zero barriers to kids waking up early and praying for hours, if that is their wish. And guess what, school will be over by 4, and they have 12+ uninterrupted hours to pray before the next school day.

praying at school or on the sports field is purely for show.

Shit, they can sit in class every minute and pray to themselves if they want to.

is this law supposed to guarantee them some sort of time and place to publicly pray so that they can be seen?

First two verses of Kasey Musgraves' "Follow Your Arrow":

If you save yourself for marriage
You're a bore
You don't save yourself for marriage
You're a horrible person
If you won't have a drink
Then you're a prude
But they'll call you a drunk
As soon as you down the first one
If you can't lose the weight
Then you're just fat
But if you lose too much
Then you're on crack
You're damned if you do
And you're damned if you don't
So you might as well just do
Whatever you want
---
If you don't go to church
You'll go to hell
If you're the first one on the front row
You're self-righteous son of a-
Can't win for losin'
You'll just disappoint 'em
Just 'cause you can't beat 'em
Don't mean you should join 'em

Isn’t there already a designated silent time or whatever in schools for this very thing?

I don't know about other states, but Texas public schools have a moment of silence for the kids in the morning to dream up their next Minecraft build, pray, mutter unholy things about their parents who changed their iPad password because the kid won't stop fucking watching Cocomelon or Blippi or Ryan videos, or in the case of the older kids, to think about which girl or boy they'd want to fingerbang the most.

That makes me wonder when the first time RINO was used. There was a time when there was a range of opinion in the GOP. It wasn't lockstep. Oh sure they did a great job of joining together behind a candidate, but at some point there was a series of social tests that were to be passed. If you were deemed not sufficient in them your time was done. How many retirements and how many former members no longer attend meetings to share in the bounty of Tahoe's confections?

Now, I have to go look. In Search of The first RINO.

I’ve been trying to figure out the Russian angle with the GOP. I’m pretty sure it is the Epstein playbook. The KGB gets compromising info/photos/video, they then present it to the person and say “we will make this go away, in fact we will support you with the cash flow”. They then have 2 things over the person, the original sin and the new sin of taking money from Putin.

Look at all the people who talk the loudest and are in step with Russia. They all has clear skeletons. It’s easy work for a good intelligence department.

This.

I would think that our intelligence people already have some info on, say, Rand Paul that might have been gathered in ways they don't want to reveal.  So how to investigate without tipping their hand or seeming to be targeting a political enemy without probable cause.

Thankfully most of the peripheral things that happened over Trump's time in office are coming due, including:

  • Fake electors
  • Directed IRS investigations of FBI officials

I'm not sure if we'll ever get answers for:

  • Disappearing Covid supplies
  • Money for Mnuchin
  • Money for Jared

(Edit: Then again, I thought Garland was hard at work on Trump between 2020 and 2022 but it turns out he was sitting on his ass the whole time, afraid of his own shadow.  The one fucking thing he did right was pick Jack Smith as a special prosecutor.  They should put Smith's picture on the $10 bill and Stacey Abrams on the $20).
