That's a great article and I was somehow able to access it yesterday without having to pay.  Throughout all of this insanity in the political sphere The Wall Street Journal has been absolute nails.  I can no longer justify not paying the small subscription fee.  That piece celebrates an impressive financial management by Brown but also delves into his shortcomings on infrastructure and other criticisms.  You know, just unemotional journalism.  Anyway, WSJ has been one of the least hysterical outlets out there.

I don't know, fear of death in America does not seem to be making a significant impact, else this little girl's parent's would have never made the trip.

SAN ANTONIO — At least nine people died after being crammed into a sweltering tractor-trailer found parked outside a Walmart in the midsummer Texas heat, authorities said Sunday in what they described as an immigrant-smuggling attempt gone wrong.

Of course it isn’t to Republicans. They think spending like idiots and reducing revenue is responsible.

I forgot what commentator made the same point that the linked article touches on which is distinct to Trump. When it became evident the parameters of the ACA would prevent some patients from keeping their same doctor, the Obama administration ceased making those claims. When it became evident there were no WMDs in Iraq, the Bush administration stopped making those claims. Trump makes false claims, and when it becomes evident they're false, he continues to repeat them in some idiotic defiance of reality.

Another example of how the Bush 43 presidency foreshadowed Trump. Despite every claim justifying the Iraq War turning out to be false: No WMDs; Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11; the oil didn't pay for it; it wasn't over in six months; we weren't greeted as liberators except by some, most of whom turned on us as soon as Saddam was deposed because they didn't want an occupying force of infidels in their country...

Despite the shittastic results that strengthened Iran, gave ISIS its generals, failed to train a new Iraqi army to fight them, and destabilized the region for generations, Dubya still blindly insists that he believes invading Iraq was the right thing to do. At least Obama admits that Libya was a mistake. Bush doubles down on the worst foreign policy decision in the history of American politics.

Bush foreshadowed all of this. Trump just turned it up to 11.

Forcing reps and senators to serve in their home districts would make a world of difference for our country's health.

With respect to video conferencing it's also one more thing that makes keeping the House at 435 members ludicrous. The House needs to AT LEAST double in size. If not much more (I think setting it to one Representative for every 200,000 people would be a good start).

Deciding whether to vote for Trump was a basic intelligence test.  If you voted for him, you failed.

How the fuck do you live in the RGV, basically the only tropical area in the US outside of Florida, AND work for a conservation and vote Republican?

Its sorta the whole thing with "blow up the government" bullshit. That all sounds great and all, but its not like everyone suddenly disappears and we start back at 0 with brand new everything.

Again, to Republicans, it's a "radical view on marriage" to take a position that is essentially "yeah....what the SCOTUS said.  That's the law.  We should follow that."

The GOP isn't a political party.  It's a criminal conspiracy and foreign-funded insurgent attack against the rule of law.

Well, he gets to be a God on another planet and take his wife to Heaven if he chooses (she can't go unless he says it's OK), so I'd trust the Mormon on that one.
