November 2Nov 2 Yea dodgers have to be #1 by a big amount in this city LeBron effect? But a great series and this astros fan will give props. Was fun

I am not certain that the majority of baseball fans understand just how big the sport is in Japan. Every single group of Japanese people I meet here are Dodger fans. I mentioned it a few days ago, but that franchise has an entire nation following it. I am happy for Yamamoto getting the Series MVP. His comments through his interpreter are pretty much what I would expect to hear a Japanese player say. They're just wired differently, but in a good way. Good on the Dodgers for pulling out a most improbable victory when they were dead to rights. I'd also wager that Rojas and Smith won't be paying for anything in LA either after tonight's clutch homers.

November 2Nov 2 Author This is what’s great about untimed sports like baseball. It’s never over until the last out.

They are just super nice human beings overall. Can't wait to talk to quite a few of them tomorrow. Can anyone imagine (Insert whatever American athlete you want) cleaning up like that because you were taught to since you were old enough to know to do so?

I was attempting to explain baseball to someone in Ethiopia during the game. My explanation led them to understand baseball being somewhat like cricket. Anyone that thinks baseball games are long should look at how long it takes to finish a cricket match.

November 2Nov 2 Author Crazy to think how many different times we could’ve lost that game. Or last night’s game. But somehow, some way, they won.
November 2Nov 2 Skipped a few pages, but Rojas’ play was so sick. And IKF’s horrific lead certainly didn’t help his team’s chances.
November 2Nov 2 Go Dodgers! What a series.Late to the thread but watched every minute. Lifelong Dodgers fan. Congrats to the team and to Sbbruin (you deserve it!). Will post more tomorrow.

I disagree. Toronto played awesomely. 4 runs on 14 hits should have been enough. Six of their everyday starters hit over .300 for the series. Their defense was absolutely stellar. Three Dodgers that you don't really expect to take the ball out of the park just had great swings at perfect moments against pitchers who didn't give up anything else. The only thing you could really fault Toronto with was their inability to get guys on third base with less than 2 outs home, which was an issue for both teams all series. Says the the guy who's team hit .205 for the series and was outscored 😆 Great series, feel for the Jay's, what a turnaround and to take that payroll into extras in game 7. Thats the effort and managing teams need.
November 2Nov 2 That's baseball. The Dodgers made the clutch hits and plays when it mattered and yeah, a little luck involved with the GRD in G6. I didn’t follow the Series that closely but G6/7 was as exciting and clutch as I’ve seen since ‘75 WS. I’m sure others will chime in on other WS games.
November 2Nov 2 As a lifelong Dodgers fan, and the son of a BROOKLYN Dodgers fan, I officially forgive Japan for any/all actions related to Pearl Harbor. I will no longer mention it in conversation or reference it at all, as would a frustrated wife bringing up a years old conflict with her husband to win an argument. thank you yoshi and shohei and roki for building these bridges across our cultural divide. that being said, fuck Canada! gotta love it when a team has so many chances to win a title and just can’t do it. Peak sports misery for Jays fans Edited November 2Nov 2 by hookemATL

November 2Nov 2 rewatching this, and i still cannot believe the number of outstanding defensive plays. i can’t imagine another game 7 featuring more wildly clutch and impressive plays from so many different fielders for each team. craziest series and game that i think ive ever seen. still can’t quite believe toronto didn’t win it.
November 2Nov 2 Gimenez is such a fucking bitch. Moving his hand off the bat like a little leaguer to try and get on base. Get fucked. Wrobleski handled it perfectly.

So many NON Anglo-Saxon surnames in almost every fond recollection of the game/series. A real melting pot sport.

November 2Nov 2 I didn't care that much who won. I just hate the Othani rule, anti-baseball nonsense. If he can pitch and get pulled and still be in the batting order the rest of the game, then a slow as fuck hobbled second baseman in the cleanup spot, for example, should be able to stay in the order after having a pinch runner. Othani should have to stay in the field if he's gonna bat. He basically had a pinch-pitcher in for him.
November 2Nov 2 Rewatched this morning / just now. Epic series. Glad LAD won. Loving the Blue Jays losing lol

Toronto really outplayed LA most of the series. We just got them when we needed them. Dodgers did their best when their best was needed.
November 2Nov 2 There were definitely mistakes made by both teams, but holy cow the quality of the baseball played in that entire series was just so fucking good. I haven't had that much fun watching baseball in a long time. And credit to the umpires - I don't think there was a single egregious call that directly affected an outcome.
November 2Nov 2 Not sure why all the hate for the Jays and all the love for the Dodgers? No offense to anyone, just curious. Edited November 2Nov 2 by RecoveringAlcoholic
