I posted the following about the first season in HBOMax thread, but that thread sucks for discussing or promoting an oddball show like this one, so I figured I'd start a new one.

I just finished the second season, and man, this show is fucking bonkers. You really never know what is going to happen next.

It's in Spanish, so if you're not fluent, you'll have to do the dubbed and/or the subtitled audio.

It's worth checking out.

I watched it a couple of years ago after seeing the first few episodes of s2 at a film festival shortly before it premiered.

Those episodes were so wtf/ridiculous, especially without having seen s1, that I later watched all of s1 and then the remainder of s2 as it was released.

Giamatti being in s2 is what got me to commit.

Overall it was fun, but like a lot of stuff from Spain they get so hung up on religious-oriented tropes that it becomes tiresome/laughable. I get that it's just their culture, but after watching a lot of their stuff it has started to wear on me.

Fun series and I was bummed they stopped after s2.

I’ve had this on my list to watch forever because it seemed like a Spanish “When Evil Lurks”, I’m a sucker for religious horror and I’ve been a little underwhelmed with my most recent forays into serialized frights (Evil, Castle Rock, From).

It sounds like this is a little campy, maybe like Evil (for those that have seen it), is that right?

Haven't seen Evil, but it's campy at times, though not exclusively.
