I could not get my monitor to work through the Surface dock yesterday morning and after rebooting was getting an error message that appeared to be related to Avast. I attempted to delete Avast (so I could reinstall) and reboot and it has not been able to restart since.

When trying to reboot, it is just showing the restart screen on a loop. Eventually I was able to get to the Surface UEFI screen, and after trying to reboot from there am getting some type of "Network" error message (but it just continually goes through that loop as well).

I have tried everything I can think of with (VERY) limited technical skills and can't get to the recovery screen. Anyone have any suggestions? And if not suggestions on where to take it in Northeast Williamson County? (Hutto/Georgetown/Round Rock)

Well that sounds....less than ideal. Any hope of recovering anything recent? And suggestions on where to take it in the aforementioned (or North Austin) area?

F*** me, I hate technology sometimes...

7 years, but I wanted something that would (theoretically) last a while so it is (was?) an 8th Gen i7 with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD.

The rest of your post might as well have been in hieroglyphics/way above my head. Will start looking for computer shops up here--many thanks for the help, Imma!

This.  You're fucked.

You may be able to force a safe mode or command prompt start by booting from a USB image, then applying an image restore, or running a number of scripts you can find on Google.

But I would start shopping for a new SSD now.  Samsung has a good health monitor utility.
