I’m told that representatives for Texas coach Steve Sarkisian have let NFL decision makers know that he would be interested in potential head coaching openings, including the Titans’.

To be fair, a significant portion of the fan base wants to get even with him for giving us the best years of Texas football since Royal.

I don’t want to get even with him. I appreciate the championship. I want him to shut up and stay away and enjoy his millions.

Legitimate source, don't know why she would scoop unless told to.

My guess is he’s drained from college game but hey it could save us some money in a few years? Could also be behind the scenes stuff as well

I'm sure NFL GMs saw that 8 first down, 179 yard masterpiece and thought, yup that's exactly what we're looking for.

Somebody let scarlet Johansson, Sydney Sweeney, and Mary Lou retton know I’d like to date them.

I don’t see an nfl team being interested but I could be wrong as well. Maybe he’s better in the pros.  Idk. @Nicole44 you called this sort of

This would explain a lot about what’s going on. He seems checked out and appears to be going through the motions. He seems overwhelmed from everything the college game requires (recruiting, portal strategy, etc.) and all of the bullshit UT media throws at him. Combine all of that with his family situation, he’s probably seeing that the grass is way greener in the NFL.

I really like Sark. Hes done a great job for us. I admire how hes been able to bounce back from his issues. He also seems to be very well respected in coaching circles for his abilities.

If this report is true, I feel really bad for him. I hope he's doing ok and I hope this doesnt trip him up sobriety wise.

Sounds like you might have a shot with Mary Lou.

the plan was always 2 years with Arch and the NFL.  This just accelerates it.

He would be but I think Florida is his dream job because of him growing up a Spurrier fan

Pure wishcasting but I’d fuck with Oregon and make Lanning say no lol

Honestly I would rather have the next young, hungry coach not the coke addict propped up by NIL.

It's a Jimmy Sexton special guys...

Agreed.

That said, it is pretty shocking how quickly some of yall think it’s going to be an easy upgrade. We’ve already seen this story play out when it goes the wrong way for all of the 2010s, and it isn’t a guarantee that anyone will be able to match the success that Sark has had.

Honestly, miss me with this shit. It's not as hard with the support infrastructure that's built around the program.

In his defense, Russini may evoke peak Mary Lou Retton.  Present Russini >> present Retton.

It's different in the NIL area.

Not that Texas might not still struggle, but look how NIL turned Oregon, Miami, and now Tech into whatever they are now.

You can have a great coach that can dramatically help the smaller teams with less budget turn things around.   But if your school is a top ten NIL team, you should be competitive if you spend that money wisely.

That and there's at least 5+ guys out there that could do similar or better. I'm sure one of them would take the job.

It shouldn’t have been as hard for the 2010’s but it was.
