How'd you feel about Sark when he was hired at Texas.

Not bad, not great. I probably rated it a 7.5 out of 10 hire at the time.

but you don’t “get” kiffin despite he’s done way more at the collegiate level than sark had?

Well and he fucking sucks as a HC without Brady.

As of 2021?

Sark eyeing nfl and the McRib being back? We’re so primed for a coaching search thread.

I am calling Night Crew right now in case there is some type of waiting list. Day crew is a bunch  of wussies typing at work bc they can’t surly at home.

NYG got a decent foundation with Dart, Nabors, and Skattabo assuming he makes it back. They just had issues closing games because Daboll is an idiot. Gave up 33 4Q points to the Broncos then followed it up with another choke. Would be a good fit for Sark.

I get lost on here sometimes. Is Texas looking for their next head coach or is that hyperbole? If true, Can we haz one Nicholas Saban for a short run?

Some Giant blogs don’t think Kiffin is in play for them bc he texted to Jackson Dart’s dad (with whom Kiffin is close) that NYC was too cold for him (Kiffin)

belichick would be dumb as fuck. We have ALL seen the trajectory of awesome he’s been on since Brady went to Tampa Bay

It is an enticing opportunity for a HC who wants to be HC in the NFL. I just don’t think this is a good year pros and CFB to be going HC shopping.

So I brought up NYG as I just think Sark would appeal to them and Sark/L'oreal seem like coastal people, and geez it's NYC.  That being said, looks like it's McCarthy in the clubhouse

Did we ever think that Sark wants to go to the NFL because everyone at his current job hates his wife?

I'd assume it's a factor?  Idk

Sark currently makes more than 20 NFL head coaches.  He'd be looking at a pay cut, and either he or the hiring team would have to pay his penalty clause (I believe $3M) for leaving.  I don't see it, but money isn't everything.

Or you take same money, don’t have to work 24/7/365, don’t have to recruit, don’t have to fully manage 100+ 18-24 year olds, have to appease boosters, fans, etc

McCarthy isn’t a bad coach. He did bring the Cowboys damn close and had to tolerate Jerruh. He will get that offense humming. If he can find a comparable DC that would be a good combo. He’s no stranger to fierce weather and if he can handle an owner like Jerruh he can handle NYC fine.

lol at Kiffen texting that NYC is too cold for him. You guys need to pinch yourselves every once in a while.

I figured that was code speak for “hell yes I will buy a massively overpriced fur coat for NYC winters and take that job,”

It's the perfect time of year...somewhere far away from here.

I could walk, but I'll just drive.  It's colder than it looks outside.

I agree with the first 2.  Would be nervous with Kiffin.  On one hand the results speak for themselves.  But I also heard from people in coaching circles he has a rep as difficult to work for, checks out on details and kind of an organizational mess.   But I've heard that and then he wins 10+ games every year with decently high staff turnover so maybe whatever he does is right and he would kill it.  I just question if he could handle the Texas job + living in a city again (he desperately wanted miami for miami reasons purportedly but maybe he's grown out of that).

Of course, I also can't necessarily think of a better #3 off the top of my head so maybe that order is right.

I want Kiffin for the shit he would say about Aggy and Methlahoma.

I think Freeman wins an MNC at Texas.

Agreed. As bad as he was at game day and his fucking curl route concepts...he seems to be a guy who can take a team and put them on the right track until he wears his welcome out.

They could do much worse than him and as a boys fans I'd not like him there for first couple years.

This is the NIL era, I think someone on surly could coach these guys and probably win 8-9 games. We’ll be fine. He’s not near as good as he thinks he is.

The savior head coach has never mattered less. Saban and Urban are relics of a bygone era. It’s a year to year proposition now, just like the NFL. If Joey Fucking McGuire has a top ten team… clearly there are 50 guys that can do the job.

Well if we were in the Big 12 or ACC and your only goal is making the playoffs, sure.   We just spent top 3 dollars on a roster and the coaching didn’t get it done so that part clearly still matters in this conference.

No, he wouldn't. Or if he did, CDC could structure the $3 million dollar payout as $1/ year for the next 3 million years.
