We worked at the same delivery service, and everyone called him "Little Man", which is the one aspect of being short that he actually didn't seem to mind that much. Came in to work one day complaining about the accident he'd just had. But it wasn't his fault. You see, the sun was in his eyes as he ran the yield sign under IH35 exiting the turnaround from the northbound to southbound feeder at 290. Accident happened at noon, but yeah, ok.

My Dad’s frat brother and lifelong best friend from the U. of Missouri (Class of 1933) was an Army Air Corps pilot (DFC) who flew a B-24 in North Africa and a C-54 over The Hump to China in WW2. A true BAMF officer and a gentleman who happened to be 5’4””. He was like a dear uncle to me & my brothers, so he tolerated us kidding him about his height as we grew older and taller. Quote The Heisman Trophy finalists for 2025 will each receive a custom watch, the Heisman DIASIMOS, crafted by AXIA Time as the Official Timepiece of the Heisman Trophy. This tradition began in 2024 when AXIA Time became the official partner, and all finalists receive the same exclusive timepiece, regardless of whether they win the award. The watch is a 40.5mm bronze-plated titanium piece with a black and bronze design, powered by a Swiss Sellita SW300 Elabore automatic movement, and features a sapphire caseback displaying the movement and a personalized engraving ring. It comes with a black alligator strap and a walnut display box inspired by the Heisman Trophy base. The market price is $2,495, but the watch is not for sale and is a one-of-a-kind gift.

Today in Aggie History - Dec. 26: Reveille VI was dognapped Quote Dec. 26, 1993: Reveille VI was kidnapped from her handler's family home in Dallas. She was four months old. Both Reveille V and VI were staying with Mascot Corporal John Lively's family's home in Dallas ahead of the New Year's Day Cotton Bowl game against Notre Dame. Reveille VI was let outside in the fenced backyard early in the morning, according to The Eagle. When a family member went to let her back in the house, she was gone. Lively and other E-2 cadets spent the next few days searching for Reveille before notifying A&M officials on Dec. 29. The alleged kidnappers, who called themselves the "Rustlers," contacted the Austin-American Statesman and demanded a ransom: "A&M had to publicly announce that Reveille had been stolen and state that UT was superior to A&M," according to The Eagle. Reveille was valued at more than $750 so her abduction was classified as a third-degree felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. The puppy was returned Dec. 31. She was found tied to a sign post near Lake Travis. It was the first time an A&M mascot had been stolen by a rival school.

December 19Dec 19 Does Pavia have another year of eligibility? Am I wrong on this? Isn't he currently challenging that?
December 19Dec 19 I worked with a guy years ago who was 5 feet tall. His wife was like 4'10". They weren't dwarves but had some other genetic issue. Both of them had amazingly good (and funny) attitudes about their height. We became pretty good friends and hung out often. Once he and I went to a movie and as we walk up he says "Buy one adult and one kid ticket. No one will questions us." For the record, I'm 6'2" and the two of us looked a little like each other. The best though was when we'd go out for drinks and he would get carded. Once he was told that they wouldn't serve him and tried to keep his license as a fake. He went out to his car, got his car registration and his work ID with his picture on it and showed it to the manager. I had my work ID with me too and showed him that we worked together. Dude straight told us the little dude had to be a high school intern or something with his brother's ID. Still wouldn't serve him. Little man thought it was hysterical. We were the nearly the same age, I was in my early 30s and he was like 2 years younger than me. Another time, some drunk dude was kind of badgering him about dwarf tossing. My friend told that dwarf tossing was on Tuesday's and if the dude came back that day, it was on. We were at one of our regular places and the bartender backed him up. "Yep, dwarf tossing is on Tuesdays." Drunk guy leaves eventually and my friend looks at me and the bartender and says "Well that's just great. Now I can never come in here on a Tuesday ever again. Unless... Either of you know a real dwarf that is willing to get tossed." He let all of that stuff just roll right off his back. He knew that getting bent out of shape wasn't worth it.

Think that was just some bullshit thrown at the wall that never materialized into an actual legal argument (5th NCAA year, 7th year overall) My view is that any NCAA eligibility rule is inherently invalid until a collective bargaining agreement is eventually developed. That’s several years away, at the absolute earliest. Pavia’s not suing for an extra year yet, but he could. And I think he’d win. Until a CBA is reached, get ready for mercenary 30 year olds. We’re going to see it at some point. It may even be with Pavia once he figures out he’s a 6th round pick at best (I think UDFA is most likely) and may be able to work out a contingent NIL deal with a desperate CFB team. That would be for a bigger number than anything he’d get as an NFL rookie UDFA, practice squad player. It does appear that won’t be with Vandy. They’ve signed their 5* (over UGA), and are moving on either way.
