December 3Dec 3 Popular Post My uncle (the 4th of July open door shitter) managed to somehow wear pajama pants that were way too long. As in, he is probably a 34 leg but had on pants that looked like a 38 leg. He is also probably an XXL shirt size and was wearing a shirt that fit him like it was a really small L. Naturally the pants would get caught in his feet and yank down the waist several inches exposing his underwear multiple times during the day.
December 5Dec 5 Popular Post I know the running joke about in-laws but Goddamn my in-laws are so much more awesome and appreciative of me than my own family in the last few years, especially at Christmas. I'm so fucking tired of trying to make plans with my family and I'm basically the sloppy seconds of planning like I'm still 23 and single... "oh he'll figure it out".. no assholes - I have a family and I can't just acquiesce to all of your stupid bullshit. Include me on the family planning discussion. Then they ask why they never see me or my kids. Meanwhile my wife's parents go out of their way constantly to make sure everyone is accounted for and thought of. Just really makes you realize how shitty your family is when you marry into a good one.
December 5Dec 5 I cant count how many holidays my parents insisted everyone come to their tiny house and wouldn't have a fucking thing to eat, drink, etc. Those gatherings lasted about an hour before everyone would leave to eat at an Indian or Chinese restaurant. I'd go to a friends where they already had a place set for me.
December 5Dec 5 My kids are grown and out of the house, one in another state. Both have kids of their own. My sister has been making some comments about how it isn't fair that they don't get to see my grandkids, and how my dad isn't doing well, blah blah. My sister's kids are losers and don't have (and will never have) kids of their own, which means my grandchildren are the closest she's ever going to get. I have told her and my dad that I can't control where my kids are on Christmas or thanksgiving or whatever holiday. We either have to have multiple get togethers or go without. Nobody wins and I have to hear about it.

December 6Dec 6 Author Whoever said upthread that I'd enjoy the Lindsey Stirling show was wrong. That was just some goofball shit. Jazzercise + violin carols + lighting designed to blind the audience. For 2 hours. They tried to Cirque de Soleil it at the end & congrats to the acrobats I guess. And there was like a 15 minute "audience participation" bit when she was filming content for her Insta page.To each their own, but watching someone bop around a stage while they air violin ain't my cup of tea.

December 7Dec 7 Author No doubt. It was definitely a "parents w/ young kids" vibe. Why my almost 60 YO BIL has become enamored w/ her act (seen her multiple times) is a bit of a mystery.

That way, the owner of the other dog can go visit her grandchildren over Thanksgiving. I personally don't care because my MIL fucking sucks, but it's sad for me to see how it affects my wife. My kids are totally over it, so I don't have to go to war at least. Update: My MIL texted THE ENTIRE FAMILY yesterday morning to send a video of the two dogs licking each other with the comment that her dog would make the best mom! I have no idea why she thought I would want to see this insane bullshit. My oldest son "liked" the movie after nobody responded for four hours and I told him if he did anything like that ever again I would take his phone away.

It is the weirdest text I have ever received. The dog has not had puppies. It's some sort of purebred terrier piece of shit show dog, and can only breed with the seller's permission (the person she dog sat for instead of visiting her grandkids, and who has actively interfered in shows to STOP this dog from beating her dogs), so part of the insane subtext is that my mother-in-law, who has the executive function ability of a toddler or a severely impaired person, is bemoaning that her precious little shitdog may never be a mommy dog. It is baffling. If I could just press a button that would cause her to drop dead, I would press it. It really makes you think about parents and children. Don't forget to be a good mom and lick your kids tonight.

December 14Dec 14 Popular Post So our lab mix likes to bathe our Schnoodle, and now every time she does, thanks to @BHMCruiser, I have to say to myself what a good mother she would be. And so I took a picture (because everyone wants to see a picture of this). But the picture I wish I'd gotten was the yellow one locking the grey one while the big grey one started humping the yellow one. That would definitely be the Christmas card this year Caption: He would have been such a good father. Edited December 14Dec 14 by dcbc

She's being understanding about the situation but I feel like an inattentive husband.

I haven't bought my wife a Christmas present..even though I know she ordered and got me something But she is very hard to buy for. Monday at 03:51 PM2 days It's cringe holiday narrative letter time. Found this one on the web after I received two in the mail today. Generally if we care about you, we know what you did. If we don't care, we don't care Dear Friends and Underlings, What an eventful year. Back in May, I rolled off the couch and onto the floor, where I proceeded to crawl over to the TV and turn off “Days” for good. After all these years, I decided it was time to give it up. Then I stood up, dusted off my gray sweats, and took a walk around the block. I became so inspired that I returned home, sat down at the computer, and began to write my memoirs. Both of them — three pages each. After 30 years of marriage, Carl got a little fidgety and took up golf. Don’t you just love those little white balls? I now know all about putters and drivers and bogeys and such. As always, our talents and interests complement each other so well. When he leaves, I drink cappuccino and work on my 300 page “to-do” list” and it all works out perfectly. Daisy, our eldest, still prefers thugs to “nice boys,” but we are hoping she will outgrow this phase of her life. Carl is afraid the thugs will steal his golf equipment, and so am I. Iris, our second child, began to emit some frightful adolescent utterances back in October, but has since calmed down. Could have been the Halloween influence. Teens are faced with so much these days. Blade, our son, has grown into such a handsome young lad. Oh, he still blows his nose on an invisible Kleenex and he still runs into a tree every now and then, but such is life. May the year 2014 bring you everything you want, and the strength to cope with everything you don’t want. Happy holidays, The Rose C. Glasses Family t Edited Monday at 03:52 PM2 days by Litig8r

Monday at 11:12 PM2 days Author And the update is that I received the USPS notification that the package was delivered at 11:36AM today. I went to the mailbox (cluster boxes in our 'hood) and there was no key for the parcel box which the package would have to be placed in (at least I would hope they wouldn't try to bend 3 Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab LPs and squeeze into a a standard mail slot). So I immediately went to the USPS website & submitted the tracking # and details only to be bounced to the page saying "our records show your item was scanned. Check with a household member & wait 24 hours to submit a claim." So I'm stuck hoping that they put the key for the parcel box in someone else's mailbox and that they'll do the right thing and drop it on our doorstep. On the bright side, MoFi did insure it so I'll eventually get the albums or money back.
