How many times did he get past our linemen when other QB's would have been caught? He's the kind of person you don't want to be competing with at your first big job when you are in your twenties, unless you were really, really determined and don't waste your nights partying w your friends, 'cause he's gonna be grinding away. I'm happy someone like him, who has had a tough road, is having success. Doing this with six years experience definitely helps.

Sark and PK played this game exactly how you are supposed to. That’s what made the officiating so egregious. Also, Gilbeau to too dumb to play DB. To me it just means you may not understand the game thread or even surly during a game, is just pure emotional trauma center. we live and die with each play. It means we lose or win based on that play. Yes it’s silly but expecting fans to be reasonable in the middle of a game is a losing battle. Also complaining about people griping during a game, IN the game thread, is just as fucking silly as those of us in the game thread complaining. basically you can’t expect hard core fans to sit on their hands during 1 game of 12 games season. November 2Nov 2 That was one of the worst 4th quarters I've ever seen a team play. Sark's teams have way too much trouble with closing teams out.

November 2Nov 2 Popular Post Coincidence that we won by 3 and the line was 3.5? Naaaaahhhh the 2 point conversion was awful. Why even have the pylon cam? Vandy's OL was egregiously holding throughout the game. Lance Jackson was tackled from behind on Pavia's TD run The no-call PI on Mosely's near TD. That unsportsmanlike in the endzone was garbage

A penalty should have been called on him as well. Re the 2 point call camera angle did not appear to be perfectly in alignment with the playfield edge of the goal line. Replay showed a ref with the proper view of that edge which makes it likely the ball just brushed the line. I thought it was wrong at first too, but that slight angle makes a difference.

That is the one play that made this an anus puckering game. You just cannot have a bust in that situation. I thought I saw Guilbeau pulled late and I did not see him return. Can anyone confirm?

On the pylon deal, I don't think that's right. Yes, the camera was a little bit behind the pylon looking forward and that introduces a "parallax" error. But you can also see the entire front edge of the goal line and mentally project a plane upward from that. The ball was never close to that plane, much less across it. The parallax error made it seem the ball was closer to the pylon than it was. There apparently is an "official" camera in the pylon itself, but it would be subject to the same type of error as the broadcast camera, because a pylon isn't exactly a rigid structure, so you'd have to do the same plane projection as with the broadcast camera and isn't inherently more accurate.

He’s never been great in the backfield but it’s gotten especially bad. Can he not handle the move to CB? Could he move back to star/safety? Hes a good enough athlete that I’d like to see him deployed in some way, but he clearly can’t see the field well enough.

November 2Nov 2 I owe the thread an apology. Apparently the site outperformed last Halloween weekend by a pretty wide margin traffic wise (double digit %) I wasn't thinking about how this weekend is one of the weekends with lots of "other plans" for nearly everyone.

I think it was the overhead view that got the call upheld. There was a shot where it seems like a smidge of the football may have grazed a smidge of the white line, so call on the field stood. The parallax error from the pylon cam makes it seem more egregious than it probably was. Having said that, I usually role my eyes when sports fans complain about officials cheating and what not. Yesterday and the infamous OSU game are the only times I can remember being truly stunned at the level of bad whistle we received.

It was obvious in the stadium the ball never touched the goal line. Every camera angle showed exactly the same except the one camera angle that was not right down the goal line. They only angle they apparently used was the one with parallax error.

No. The closest the ball came was at the end. And we literally saw it not touch the pylon (the edge of the endzone). There is no doubt that ball did not cross. The evidence of that is conclusive angles don't change shit.
November 2Nov 2 1 hour ago, Dahobbs said: It was definitely ok state level of fuckery. I'm still in shock about the 2-point "conversion" Eh, don't agree. Please let me clarify. There were absolutely multiple pivotal plays in this Vandy game, particularly in the second half, that were pretty egregious in how bad they were. The 2 point conversion is among the worst incorrect field and then incorrect reviews I've seen. I'm sure there are one or two that might be close, but holy shit that one floored me. All that said, while there were a goodly number of incorrect calls and the obscenely bad 2 pt conversion, okie state was next fucking level. I need to go back and look but I recall (perhaps incorrectly) that it was something like 20 penalties and 160 yards against Texas and like 2 for Texas. It was all game long and constant. Even a buddy who was a okie state grad and lives in fucking Stillwater, grew up there, admitted the officiating was paid off. Right at the end of the game. When an opposing fan, even if a friend, sees it that clearly, it's a level beyond.

We watch the ball at its absolutely closest point to the end zone pass in front of the pylon. If it doesn't touch there, it doesn't touch anywhere else. Either the review officials were crooked or fucking idiots.
November 2Nov 2 The league office won’t say a word. If they do somehow, they’ll just say it wasn’t conclusive enough to overturn the call on the field. I assume the official who made the call is the same one who made the unsportsmanlike in the end zone on Pavia that should have been the only penalty there. Was he the same one who called Filsaime for Pavia taking him down?
