Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs

I’m tired of reading all the herp derp dipshittery. It’s like 65% that a 9-3 texas would be in the playoffs.

3 big 10 teams and that’s it. You will not be able to make an argument for a 4th one.

10-2 Domers are in.
Group of 5 team.
SEC, ACC, Big 12 champs.

thats 8 teams. There are 4 left to get in.
Texas would have 3 wins against teams that are top 10 when they played them (and will all finish ranked). We’d have 3 losses. To the #1 squad at their place by a score, to the #4 team in the country at their house (guessing at Georgia) and to a very talented Florida team.
do you mongloids really think, for example a 10-2 Miami team with losses to shitty ass Louisville and SMU are going over us?  And their 12 fans?

root for Georgia tech to lose to Georgia and 1 other ACC game. Root for no big 12 teams to finish with 1 loss while not winning the auto bid. It’s certainly not a guarantee but son of a fucking hitch you simpletons it’s way more likely than not.
all that said/ fuck it let’s go 10-2 and win me $1000 from doc and play for the sec title

It doesn’t matter. In the scenario I said we would see 5 sec teams in. We’d be 6-2 with wins over Vandy, OU and Aggy.
my guess is it would be:

Bama, Georgia, Aggy, Ole Miss, Texas.
You think a theoretical 10-2 Vandy or OU goes ahead of Texas?  Fuck off. (Not personal- just saying).
also there is a very real chance we are like 11 or 13 in the CFP rankings released this week. If Georgia is 3 or 4 we ain’t tumbling  down into oblivion if we lose to them.

I don't have a problem with the assertion that a 9-3 Texas team likely makes the playoffs, but I don't think it's a lock.

I just want to see the scenario in which we go 2-1 in our last three games.  I'm pretty sure we'll lose at least one against UGA or A&M.  Lose another?  That's 50/50 in my mind and at that point we're talking rando bowl game.

Kids, this is what we call premature ejaculation. Settle down. A long way to go.

SEC isnt guaranteed to get 5 teams in.

There's 5 undefeated teams ranked ahead of us and 10 teams with 1 loss. 4 teams ahead of us with 2 losses including OU.

It could happen, but it would take several teams in the top 19 losing multiple games to finish the season.

That said, dont even think of the playoffs right now. Just hope the offense is consistent the rest of the season, the defense gets its secondary players back from injury, and let it happen as it will happen.

I didn’t say lock. I said like 65 percent chance. People are rubbing their vaginas and saying it cannot happen- which is dumb.

Jesus fucking Christ.

A 9-3 Texas isnt getting into the playoffs above the 2 loss teams we aren’t even gonna play for the sec championship. Aggy ole miss bama will all have better records than us.  Put the fucking crack pipe down. Even if we beat UGA and aggy. aggy ole miss and bama have fucking paper soft schedules remaining and they aren’t sticking 4 sec teams in the playoffs

It’s a theoretical thing to talk about as their year goes on so it’s not in every other unrelated thread, not a prediction that we go 9-3 or a guarantee it gets us in. Thus “65%”.

Honestly for anyone that thinks Texas get special treatment just look at this year. Texas loses to Ohio st on the road the current number 1 team and played them closer than anyone else they’ve played this year and then we lose on the road to Florida and drop out of the top 25, beat ou handily by 17 and have won now 3 close games while ou loses at fucking home and is still ranked ahead of us. I can’t remember a season where  top 5 sec pre season team lost two games and dropped out of the top 25 and wins 3 games and is barely moving up. I’ve seen sec teams lose and not budge or move up a spot.

If we lose another game we’re are out. It would take a ton of other parts to move for us to be in. So why not just win out. Fuck 9-3.

We’re literally top 5 in the SEC right now. We control our own destiny. If we clean up at home and keep it close vs GA we’re in. We’ve lost two one score games on the road.

Back it up show your math Nostradamus  explain how a 9-3 gets in over all the 10-2 and 11-1 teams left if we are 4-5th in sec we are barely top20   Even Tenn has a dog shit remaining schedule

It’s actually a useful good thread. I’m just effing with you.

I think the SEC will get 4 teams in the playoffs.  Noncon record against other P4 conferences is the best.

Whether that comes into play I don't know.

Fucking shit man I already did. There are likely to be 5 sec teams in. Texas st 9-3 with a 6-2 sec record would absolutely get in over a 10-2 Vandy or 10-2 OU, both of whom we beat, that we finished tied in the conference with.  The extra loss would be at Ohio state. They won’t punish us for that if we end up 9-3 either tied conference records and head to head wins.

you will not be able to make a case for 4 big 10 teams at the end of the day. Might we see 2 from big 13 or ACC?  Sure. But it’s no fucking guarantee.

Thanks a fucking lot Yo ass probably just put us at 8-4 . . .

That’s the rub- in that scenario Texas is likely the 5th best SEC team. Do you value a 9-3 Texas with 3 top 10 wins and no bad losses over an 11-2 Georgia tech or 10-2 Miami?  My guess is yes but it’s not written in stone. Root hard for NC State. And the CFP claims strength of schedule matters, they want big time non conference games, and they are putting on a TV show and Texas has been the most watched team in college football this season.

SEC teams in:
11-1 Bama

11-1 UGA

11-1 aggy

9-3 Texas

Ole Miss is gonna lose again and be left out at 10-2 for their collapse against UGA and inexcusable November loss.

Yes. Absolutely 109 times out of 100. We’d be tied in conference, have a head to head win and they’d have a better record because we lost by 1 score at the #1 team in the country. It would  take the committee 5 minutes to make that decision

Ole Miss has 3 home games left: South Carolina who is shit, Citadel, and Florida. They play in Starkville. Maybe Florida can give them a decent game. The rest all won't.

It's November. I have a hard time seeing how we get in with one more loss, outside of college football chaos like we have never seen before.

I pulled 65% out of my ass. The computer says 67%. It’s almost like I know what I’m talking about and yet we have morons running around here saying no chance.

I think you're right that a 9-3 Texas team gets in, with a 3-2 record against top 10 teams.  In general 10-2 gets you in, and 9-3 is where we'll see an argument or two every year.

But how does it help to separate this conversation into a new thread?

One of our losses shouldn't even fucking count, dude. We played in Columbus on opening day.

You have to examine the games individually.

I think we are rooting for close Georgia win over Florida and definitely a win by NC State over Georgia Texh tonight.

Seriously?
it’s a place to talk about the rest of the year who to root for and what’s going on around the country and how it theoretically affects us instead of doing it on every unrelated thread on the board.

Come on, man.  Vandy beat Charleston Southern, Virginia Tech, Georgia State and Utah State in noncon games.  Should they go 10-2, they would have wins over these common opponents with Texas:

Kentucky

We also beat Kentucky and beat Vandy head to head.  It's not a stretch to think we'd get the nod over Vanderbilt.

If it came down to one of those teams for the last spot, what is Vandy’s argument for going in over Texas and why would the optics be bad if Texas was the pick?
