It would be glorious to have them barely miss it two years in a row.

It's not a playoff, it's a brand name invitational when teams with more losses are being campaigned for and included based on the brand name while excluding and campaigning against other schools with

  • are some of y’all trying to be “good fans” or “objective” or something when you say that it’s the florida loss that’s keeping us out? cuz y’all know that’s not true right? it’s only been repeated 10,0

Sarkisian went on the SEC morning show today and doubled down on both Texas deserving to be in the playoffs and reconsidering the OOC schedule going forward. He basically said, with the SEC going to 9

Well we were #2 when we lost to Georgia in the SECC, not #10

Exactly. There was no reason we should miss for losing to UGA. UGA, Texas, and OSU were the 3 best teams in the country last year.

seems to me like a reason we should get in again

Sad thing is that it has less to do with bama and more to do with forcing ND into the equation

Miami is in a conference that has a 5 loss team in their championship today.

And no one cares that Miami played 4 of 6 worst teams in the conference and only 2 of 7 with winning conference records.  And collectively thst conference allowed Duke, 1-3 in the non-conference, to make the championship.  Illinois beat Duke by 26 at Duke.

The best teams they’ve played were at home, two of which were when that team was at their worst.

It should be Virginia or bust from the ACC.

To be fair Miami did look good early and decent as of late. They had a weird stretch of lots of turnovers and weird shit.

Absolutely. Bama doesn't have that bad of a loss on its resume, right?

Agree.  To an extent. They beat ND on a last minute FG at home.  UF on a two game losing streak and reeling.  Then USF on their game 3rd game of Boise-UF-Miami.  Pitt is not good.

One last point on the ACC as a whole, of those top 7 ACC teams, they were 1-3 versus the Big 12 with the only win over Colorado by 7.

Looks like Miami didn’t leave home until October and only 4 road games.

Not near enough critique of what they’ve done.

Hahaha troll right?

And bama looks as bad right now as we did to Georgia.  As a matter of fact it’s a 1 score game at the start of the 4th quarter vs Georgia when Texas was there, before tit snowballed.

you can claim 3 loss Texas doesn’t deserve to be in the playoffs. But you will NOT excuse Bama with. Worse resume.   Their best win is Georgia and it’s similar to Aggie rankings wise.

they lost to OU and we beat them.  Their Florida St loss is as bad or worse than Our Florida loss.

we both best vandy. We lost tot he best team in the nation and they’re might lose even worse than we did to Georgia.

They absolutely look worse. We had a lead on them and were in it until a disaster 4th.

Honestly, I think this national uproar is down to lack of committee communication. Their chair SUCKS at explaining reasoning.

If he came out and straight up said, "Well, we compared Texas to the two loss teams such as Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Alabama and we feel that the Florida loss is one of the worst losses of the group even discounting Ohio State and their inconsistency has really held them back. Bama also has a bad loss but finished ahead of them in conference." I honestly don't think there would be that many people today that would be that upset. We might disagree with their reasoning, but if the communication was there, then I think there would be less uproar.

And having Notre Dame above Miami has pretty much killed all of their credibility.

They’re gonna have a helluva time tap dancing around punishing BYU for losing the CCG but not Alabama.

Elite teams creating separation. I remember certain 70-3 beatdowns. We're close but not quite. Happy with whatever 2025 has to offer 😀

Yep. They want the Miami/ND complaints to go away.

they have an out with Texas due to “3 losses” even if it’s argument

aggy would never be 9-3 with our schedule.

SEC might lose out on two playoff teams because one played Ohio state in week 0 and the other is losing the conference championship game. Shit is burning down if that happens.

From everything I’ve heard, Bama remains in despite a loss

Was wondering about that. If BYU can drop out of the top 12, why can't mighty Bama?

This is not a playoff team. Their spot is very much in doubt unless they make it close in the 4th quarter.

Money. Ratings. Brand. History.

There's probably more.

But he can't do that and then let Bama in after this embarrassment and Florida throttling Florida State.  Why is a Florida State team playing an ACC schedule (SOS 44) that much better than a Florida team that had the 2nd schedule and throttled them head to head.

If Alabama gets kicked out and Texas doesn’t make it and aggy gets in what a clusterfuck.

they don't have any reasoning and they never have. it's been vibes since they started the committee thing. that only reason it exists is so that ESPN has some programming on tuesday nights. they could have just kept a bcs formula but there's no unveiling that.

we're seeing right now why single game head to head is overrated. alabama and georgia are going to finish this season 1 - 1 against each other.

I like it

They won’t knock out Alabama for a championship game loss. They’re still in.

I am of the opinion that no team should get knocked out for losing a CCG…unless maybe they just get destroyed in it

Idk, I am pretty sure BYU is getting knocked out.

And the #1 and 2 teams for eyeballs in all of the ncaa at that. And teams that scheduled too notch teams in the pre season. It’s like they are trying to weaponize stupidity.

Bama is the #9 seed in the CFP rankings.

Yeah and I think they effectively got “destroyed” (which is admittedly a loose and ever-changing definition)

They should if they lose by 20+. And it shouldn’t be a debate.

i don't think BYU was actually in unless they won. kinda like the basketball tournament and some team goes on a run in the conference tourney that otherwise wasn't in.

I thought it was pretty clear we weren't a playoff team by halftime August 31st, but y'all keep it up.

I'm pretty confident the idiots on the committee don't look at any data points other than W/L columns and end game point spread. Even then their "professional eye test" and biases/motives greatly outweigh any data. Cause... anyone that looked at Data on this game would know how bad it was without even having watched.
