Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs

So if Duke wins, both Miami and ND get in because they have 2 losses as opposed to our 3 losses?

Sarkisian went on the SEC morning show today and doubled down on both Texas deserving to be in the playoffs and reconsidering the OOC schedule going forward. He basically said, with the SEC going to 9

The only way we’re getting in is if Helobious comes to this thread without being pinged and declares with certainty that we’re not getting in

We may need Helobious and Greenspoint in a tag team effort, to pull this out and kind of doubtful even then.

Duke winning has no bearing on us, Miami, or ND. It’s either JMU or Duke for the 12 seed in that case

They should have a shot, but they shouldn’t have an auto bid. If a badass team comes along they will have needed to have a good non conf schedule and earn it as an at large bid

Fair. So long as no undefeated teams get left out again I am alright. 2017 UCF deserves to get blown out by the big boys like any basketball mid major.

If we get one major G5 upset every decade in the playoffs I say it was worth it.

Riveting football.

I thought Duke doesn't get an auto bid because of their ranking. JMU gets in instead as one of the top 5 conference champs. Then the committee may choose to let Miami in instead so they don't leave ACC out completely.

It can help Miami. The committee was going to be wary of letting in two ACC teams. This lets them drop the autobid for ACC champ and give an ACC spot to Miami.

Duke winning the ACC tells you exactly why ND and Miami's SOS are in the 40's

That would still require Miami getting into the top 10 so as to receive an at-large. The committee’s reasoning for doing so couldn’t really be determined either way.

One of Duke, UVA, or JMU is getting in regardless.

What is this SOS you speak of? /playoff committee probably.

Yeah the committee will make Miami 10 and bama 11. 12 is JMU/Tulane

No shot. Bama will be 10, they are going to aggy.

Duke and UVA have no path to getting in if Duke wins. It's JMU and (perhaps Miami).

That would bump Bama.

Nope. Miami can only get in as at-large. Top five conference champs still get auto bids

One of Duke, UVA, or JMU will get in. If Duke wins it’s them or JMU, if UVA wins it’s UVA.

Not if they aren't ranked. See: Duke.

The committee will rank until they have gotten to the fifth highest conference champ, even if that team falls outside the top 25.

If it's Duke, they need to scrap the entire system and start over from scratch.

Can we all STFU about Miami? ACC is dog shit and they couldn't even get to the champ game, which was won by a five loss team.

so the football gods were too little too late with the chaos for us this year.

Dropping Bama seems to solve a lot:

- No forcing of ND/Miami question

- Avoids 1st round rematches and first round intra-conference games

The big problem is the “punishing for a CCG.” Bama made it easier by getting smoked.

Duke is not going to jump JMU if both win. Why do you keep insisting on either Duke/UVA/JMU? Duke with their 5 losses will not be in the top 25 even if they win the ACC.

Texas moves to #9, Miami to #10, Bama to #12, ND to #11, easy

Tulane is already in as the 4th highest conference champion. It will be JMU/Duke for the 5th conference champion spot. Most assuredly the #11 and 12 seeds.

If Duke gets in, the internets meltdown tomorrow afternoon.

Why are you doing this to yourself?

It's not getting punished for losing a game - it's getting punished for looking like roadkill and having negative rushing yards right before the playoff

Probably right. I’m just saying it’s not certain that JMU is in. It will be either them or Duke for the last spot and the UVA/Duke result does not open a spot for Miami, ND, or Texas.

How does the Ohio State loss effect us?

I'm extremely happy!!!

So much is about to change based on what happens tomorrow. SEC CCG is gone if Bama is out. Getting rid of G5 autobid. More teams.

Ohio State lost to the Beastie Boys.

I think Miami has to be out.  How do you put a team in when their conference Champion isnt even in.

We take their playoff spot obviously.

Yeah, that would be the logical thing to do, but then again how do you justify ND above Miami and Texas. The committee has a hard on for certain teams.

anyone with a SOS higher than 50 needs to be undefeated or else Ws Ls are thrown out

No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn!

Ohio State may be a paper tiger, but we still don't know because between them and Indiana the only legit team played combined was Indiana beating Oregon. Ohio State only playing 2 playoff good defenses all year and only scoring a combined 27 points total in 2 games looks bad on them.

I think Georgia runs away with the national title winning every game they play by double digits.

Lil dramatic. They got humiliated. It wouldn’t be some seismic catalyst if there are consequences for it.
