It's not a playoff, it's a brand name invitational when teams with more losses are being campaigned for and included based on the brand name while excluding and campaigning against other schools with

  • are some of y’all trying to be “good fans” or “objective” or something when you say that it’s the florida loss that’s keeping us out? cuz y’all know that’s not true right? it’s only been repeated 10,0

Sarkisian went on the SEC morning show today and doubled down on both Texas deserving to be in the playoffs and reconsidering the OOC schedule going forward. He basically said, with the SEC going to 9

The last 4 teams were an abject failure. Miami had 2 bad losses and JMU and Tulane are in. Absolutely ridiculous.

First round of the playoffs may be unwatchable

Any of yall think bowls will eventually go away? Due to more player opt outs, expanded playoffs, and teams already declining an invite when a coach leaves?

They aren’t what they use to be.

Wow, wow. They still actually put BYU ahead of us, even after yesterday. Committee is completely detached from reality.

I repeat what I said above.  The committee has people on it that loath Texas.  Fact.  Alabama is crashing and burning at the end of the season but they use the “whole resume “ to keep them in.

I would argue Notre Dame passes the eye test RIGHT NOW, in August/September not so much. But who the hell knows what criteria THIS committee is using on a team-by-team basis, much less the entire field

That’s because they played garbage teams later. It’s like aggy looking good when they were beating nobodies.

A playoff without James Madison or Tulane would totally lack legitimacy, so I for one am glad.

Notre Dame won 3 playoff games last year, including a dogwalking of this year's #1 Indiana. They also have the best player in college football and have won 10 straight games.

I’d be heated if I was nd.

You play no one. And easy path to get in. But you still don’t get in.

I’m a hurricane fan now. First round only

Committee hates Catholics.

How many of these teams would Texas be favored over if we played them next weekend at a neutral site? Half?

Well, I’m “not happy” for JMU and Tulane.  Definitely lose the 5th conference champion guarantee.  Frankly, I would lose the 4th as well.  If you want to guarantee conference champions “only in the top 15”……OK, but that wouldn’t be my 1st choice.  If I’m ESPN, be real.  You don’t want to be stuck selling JMU v Oregon, Tulane v Ole Miss to advertisers.  Hell, Miami at A&M is even a harder sell than ND v A&M.  Forget the inclusivity.  It’s just a bad product

BYU had to win to get in. That was acknowledged by everyone who's not in the Big 12. The Big 12 was a 1 team league.

But why?

What. The. FUCK.

I just lost 5 figures in the prediction markets on this shit. Thanks a lot, Sark

That was supposed to be a down payment on a pool

I say it all the time, but there are plenty of people here that put their heads in the sand about Texas Hatred and refuse to accept the truth.

At least 2

Just absolute, complete, fucking nonsense

Just now, Tex Pete said:

But why?

Because the Big 12 is not good and they lost by 22 to Tech. Wins against Utah, Arizona, and the rest are not highly rated by the committee and pretty much everyone else. The Big 12 is a one team league now.

It's a moot point but technically they moved BYU down a spot to #12 but that was done 100% so they could put Miami and ND next to each other to justify the flip on the last ranking.

Excuse me. I believe you misspelled 'moo'.

Too bad. Maybe Sark will learn to use bye weeks for game prep instead of watching his wife get split into two.

They wanted to include the ACC. That is why ND got hosed.

Have a 4 games play-in round instead of lame ass conference championship.   Please.

Ok cool so BYU’s dogshit performance in a conference championship matters, but Bama’s doesn’t and it’s more about “body or work”?

That work includes getting raped by FSU and playing both UL Monroe and EIL… cool

Fucking garbage.

I'm pretty sure Wulaw would get his real estate license revoked if he insisted Kamala Harris was gonna win. He's been approaching a Helobious level of reverse Nostradamus though

This, exactly. ND's schedule was as much of a joke as aggy's,

All but Georgia and tOSU

That was in reference to your lottery playing buddy.

No, you don’t got it.

So ....  we should be prepared for every team we play, even the shitty ones? Intriguing concept. Possibly just radical enough to work.

Fuck off outta here with that shit. Dumbass.

Ohio St  9 pt favorites

Indiana  7 pt favorites

Georgia 4 pt favorites

Tech 4 pt favorites

Oregon 7 pt favorites

Ole Miss push

Aggy 1 pt favorite

Oklahoma 1 pt underdog

Alabama 2 pt favorites

Miami 3 pt favorites

Tulane 16 pt underdogs

James madison 6 pt underdogs

so 3 teams theyd be favored, basically a push with 3, then decent underdogs vs the top 5

this is comparing their Sagarin PREDICTOR scores

They were never getting in without winning that game. They're terrible.

A playoff without James Madison or Tulane would totally lack legitimacy, so I for one am glad.

So in the eternal discussion of is the job of the committee to get the 12 best or 12 most deserving, you are a “most deserving” believer?

I’m a “12 best” follower myself.

Even if it was a "12 best" using their rankings, we'd still be the first team out behind BYU..... lol

They have to play in the old Pac 12 bowls through this year. That's the Alamo Bowl for them against BYU.

One thing is clear.  BCS, 4 team playoff, 12 team playoff doesnt matter.  In every case it hasn't been about getting the best x teams in the country.  Tulane and James Madison are gonna get rolled
