It's not a playoff, it's a brand name invitational when teams with more losses are being campaigned for and included based on the brand name while excluding and campaigning against other schools with

  • are some of y’all trying to be “good fans” or “objective” or something when you say that it’s the florida loss that’s keeping us out? cuz y’all know that’s not true right? it’s only been repeated 10,0

Sarkisian went on the SEC morning show today and doubled down on both Texas deserving to be in the playoffs and reconsidering the OOC schedule going forward. He basically said, with the SEC going to 9

They avoid rematches if they can so it would probably be the semis. A&M isn’t making the semis.

If we get in, it’ll be at #12

a&m is in a good spot to get the 5 seed.

also more SEC teams = greater chance of a matchup. The current rankings would have Alabama going to Mississippi in the 1st round.

G5 will be 12. ACC champ is probably 11.

No, 12 is the Group of 5 team. We have to be 11 to get in.

Miami is the only at large bid threat the ACC has. Yes, we want Miami to win the ACC as that ensures they will be a one bid league

Brother were out. ACC and Big 12 will be 2 bids with Miami taking care of business today

Then who are you knocking out if they are two bid leagues? Bama and ND? Lol moronic take

When we don't make it, The Great Hornsby crash down will be amusing to watch.

It’s remarkable how little help we’ve gotten down the stretch from other teams.

The help is coming. Bama or OU will lose. Maybe some weird shit happens at Stanford tonight.

Miami is out of the CFP right now at 11. The concern is if they miss the ACC championship game and take the spot of OU or Bama if one of them loses. Then the ACC is a two bid league.

they have thus far busted the mayhem path. The replacement theory is still a possibility (SEC is a five bid league and Texas replaces bama or OU).

If OU or Bama dont lose. The crashout wont be coming. If one of them loses and we get left out. The crashout will be generational.

Yes I understand this concern. But we are going to be in front of them. They have two really bad losses and only one quality win to our 3.

What will happen with a bama or Oklahoma loss is they move up a spot which will give ACC their second bid

I wasn’t responding to you. But that is the question and the premise of your replacement theory.

Yeah, my feeling is if ND loses, they will take their place. If Bama or OU loses, we will take their place. ND losing makes it more likely that we get left out so they dont have 6 SEC teams.

Right. Playing Michigan and getting 10 wins isn't a bad consolation prize.

They have 2 losses you our 3 too. The committee has shown so far that that’s more important.

Texas is out, period. If Miami goes to the ACC championship they could take the sole ACC bid so rooting for the ACC tie breaks is important too.

the countervailing view is the SEC gets 5 period and Miami is still bounced for Texas if OU or Bama loses.

What a retarded, inaccurate comment. Betting odds say otherwise and we havent even started the pressure campaign that will begin if Bama or OU lose.

with our win over aggy, Tech will be playing for a bye.  committee might give Big 12 the bye and single bid.

Dude

if the ACC is a two bid league Texas is out. Come on please read for comprehension not for combative argument. Jesus Christ man.

though if bama and OU lose ACC could be a two bid league and Texas gets in, but odds are not going to be very high both lose.

IF Miami gets a bid yes. But Im doubting they will get one if it is for a spot vacated by OU or Bama

We’ve been fucked by the system before too. I don’t think any other bubble teams can claim 3 top 10 victories. So let’s see ✌️

I agree but we aren’t the committee and “Miami beat Notre dame.” 😡

If a 9–3 Texas does not make the playoffs, then the out of conference schedule should only consist of three cupcakes.

Swapping out the loss to Ohio State with a win over a cupcake absolutely has a 10–2 Texas in the playoff this year.

Also, the committee’ s stated policy is that an out of conference loss to highly ranked opponent would be minimized.

I would like to see that policy tested this year with Texas. If Horns get left out, no reason to play highly ranked opponents out of conference.

This is so absurdly fucking stupid.

Texas is #3 or #4 at BEST after SHSU if they played a shit game and beat a bad rice 21-14 or whatever bullshit that first yips team would have done.

Then #4 instead of #9 (they lost ranking even though they weren't losing for all of you dipshits that don't remember) losing to an unranked dogshit Florida team would have dropped to AT LEAST #21. Then after that following it up by beating a top 10 OU gets you back respectable. Then shitting the bed and winning in OT and escaping the gauntlet of the basement dwellers of the SEC. Keeps you hovering around top 10 about where they were anyway against Georgia. Then they got fuckstomped and run out of the god damned stadium. It wasn't a one possession game. It wasn't a last minute loss. It was a 4 score fucking blowout.

They are exactly where they would be with a dogshit win vs a 7 point loss to #1 OSU.

Stop being an idiot.

That’s the dumb thing. If a 2 loss team is getting left out it should be ND.

Tennessee leads Vandy early. That has to help

I'm not sure that game matters. I think we pass Vanderbilt this week even if they win. I still think (maybe it's only hope) that everyone is underestimating the impact of our win. Based on the CFP rankings everyone is using as a basis, it is the best win in the country this year.

I mean we all realize that A&M has one real win all season at Notre Dame and zero wins against the entire top half of their own conference but they were the #3 team in the rankings. We should absolutely jump Vanderbilt regardless. Utah, too. Arguments start at Miami (which we should jump but at least I can understand arguments there).

Yep. And I think if ND loses then Miami takes their spot. I dont see a 6th SEC team getting in sadly.

Miami isn't getting left out with their head-to-head win over ND. And they shouldn't TBH (ND should be left out--they've beaten no one). Both OU and Bama need to lose for Texas to have a chance.

Edited by TXpride

Miami is getting in before us, just gotta accept it at this point.
hopefully it’s the acc autobid - which would require va tech to beat uva.
Otherwise acc is a two bid league.

Yeah Notre Dame needs to be out. Their only decent win is USC.

Putting aside OU and Bama right now (assuming they win)…

We’ll be #12 or #13 at a minimum going into championship weekend if Vandy loses. BYU loses to Tech next week we are #11 or #12. We should want Miami to be forced into the ACC championship game and win it. If that happens #11 gets us in. But to seal the deal we are probably still going to need Bama or OU to lose.

If we pass Miami this week game on.

A couple things that have already been touched on but should be reiterated because they keep coming up:

1) we should be rooting for chaos in the ACC to get Miami into the CCG. That way they either win and get the sole ACC bid, or collect a 3rd loss.

2) we need Tech to win the Big 12 and get the autobid because they’re in anyway. The Big 12 taking two spots would be very bad for us.

hate to say it but it feels like we are out. without a whole clusterfuck of upsets.

I like this replacement theory. In fact, I think it's great. And all of you should go out and start posting on social media about how you also believe in the great replacement theory.

If byu beats tech in the big 12 CCG it’s really not good for us

If BYU beats Tech, not only would it be over for us, but that probably knocks out Bama if they lose to UGA (assuming they beat Auburn), which would be crazy controversial.

Agree with this.  I feel like it's actually better if Vandy wins to keep them high.  We're going to go over them after last night.

Fortunately, that ain't gonna happen.

Go for it. I quit social media years ago. But I’m pretty sure Auburn is our only hope and then some (Miami problem). LSU is looking like steaming hot garbage.

Agree that as of right now it does not look good. C’est la vie.

lsu aint beating homohoma. even with mateer as the ou qb.

The G5 auto bid might be the dumbest thing in sports history. What moron came up with that.
