The FanDuel contact had to get some info from his/her(probably a her if I had to guess) committee contact first.

Maybe. I’d like for that to be the case. Maybe not. But it went from off the board to on the board. Utah not on the board. candy +4000. Miami +750. So- that tells me if they did get word that the committee has it 10- bama

11- byu

12-Miami

13-Texas

14- Vandy

15-Utah.

or no information and they are guessing like we are.

Disney Suits...sure.  The ones in the room that have to deal with the questions and shit can kill this off quickly tomorrow night and not have to deal with it next week when they are dealing with some other controversy.

Now, if the suits at Disney have real sway over the suits in the room, sure, I guess anything is possible.

It seems incredibly hard for me to believe that Disney doesn’t have the biggest vote.
I also concede it’s possible they have no say. It’s really interesting.

I bet they rank us 12 but out because auto bids so they can say they thought we were one of the 12 best BS

If we are 12 on Tuesday I’m super excited. That means there is a real discussion that could happen inside that room

if you are saying we end up at 12 because we are 13 and jump byu then I’m pissed.

Not really. It just means they’re doing it so they can avoid the ripple effect.

Pretty simple for the committee to rank Bama 10, BYU 11 and then say Saturday is being treated like play in for that 10th spot, with Bama having preference. If they both lose, then everything will be looked at with clean slate.

(Edit: They won’t do that)

(Edit 2: F. Forgot BYU can still get auto bid so probably disregard)

This make sense, Bama and Miami both left out last year.  this sets up for at least one of them being in unless BYU wins.

They can’t have it Bama 10, BYU 11, Texas 12 and not have a discussion about what happens if bama and byu both get wrecked. It’s not possible.

Root for a retard fight in the ACC that makes Miami look guilty by association.

it won't happen but the funniest thing would be BYU kills Tech, Bama loses convincingly, and Bama/Tech drops out after losing to teams they already beat and we (or Miami) take the 10th spot.

The thing about Miami being 12 and us 13 is that we can wage a smear campaign against Miami all season. The mouse doesn’t give a shit about the ACC and Miami can’t draw flies to a pile of shit as far as game day crowd. We can wreck them behind the scenes if need be.

It is interesting that while the bowls are involved in this, I don't think they have any say anymore. butts in seats don't matter. They get quarters and semis and get to still wear their cool jackets, have dinners/events and hand out a trophy, which is all they ever cared about anyway.

Best case Texas ends up at 11 or 12, and still out.

Any CCG team ranked at 10 or better THIS Tuesday is in the playoff.  The committee will not deincentivize playing in CCG

44 minutes ago, Hookem10 said:

Exactly, committee has to adjust to that but won’t. They’ll just assume the ccg participants are 1 and 2. Unbalanced conference schedules make it more difficult to determine who the 2 best teams are.

Not to nick pick here, but here is what people are missing. The rankings do not assume the CCG are 1 and 2. Bama is currently the 4th ranked SEC team according to the committee (that could change tonight), they finished #1 in the SEc standings. Virginia and Duke are in the ACC championship game and neither are the top ranked ACC team by the committee. The committee is pretty clear on the fact they do not believe the CCG always has the top 2 conference teams. If Duke wins the ACC, they will not be in the playoffs. This idea that the committee views CCG participants as sacred is nonsense

A team getting blown out in their CCG doesn't make a difference?

This ACC Championship is a shit-show with Duke vs UVA

Yeah, but a 7-5 Duke would be a travesty in the CFB Playoff as the ACC rep

Um... I'm not sure how to break this to you but the Manny _Iaz coach Duke team is 7-5 with it's top win being (checks notes) #21 Tulane is playing against the biggest fraud in 2025 Virginia. For the record Virginia's top win is (checks notes) ummm.. 8-4 Louisville? 7-5 Duke???

So it can't be anything but exactly what you're "hoping" it will be.

idea was fine , the execution of it is ridiculous

i dont even think its complicated to fix , make a transparent weighted scoring system , remove the humans , remove the ap and coaches poll influence from the scoring system

this is not a technical challenge

Not sure what you're missing but a 8-5 Duke at maybe top 25 in the polls as the ACC champ isn't getting in the CFP.

It should be 16 at a minimum. Probably 24, like FCS.

You forgot kick the G5 the fuck out of the conversation and being in a P4 conference is fucking REQUIRED! (I'm looking at you Irish)

Edit - and ACC always gets the worst seed regardless of record.

CCG winners don't auto-qualify? That changed this year, right?

The five highest ranked conference champions and the next seven highest-ranked teams will be seeded into a 12-team bracket based on the final ranking, with the four highest-ranked teams receiving a first-round bye

Your notes fail. Tulane beat Duke.

I don’t watch the talk shows at all and I made the mistake of going on YouTube to find clips. Wow.

its this simple (and none of them say this even if they advocate for Texas) - is it the best records or the best teams?  If its records Texas is out and get low schedules are going to suck but fine thems the rules. If its best teams then Texas is in, by a comfortable margin.

no one is talking like this. But thats the only question - best records or best teams?

I’ll save the metrics that get Texas there comfortably they’ve been discussed ad nauseam.

If we’re 14 then that’s the committee saying fuck you to sark and his threats of not scheduling big OOC games moving forward. Basically it’s “fine we don’t care if you do or don’t”.

But if we’re 14th then that’s some huge bullshit.

"but reconsider, the NCAA, the college football playoffs, the networks, and especially your conferencemates, love the 10,000,000 viewers for a week 1 game you bring"

Imagine trying to pick a top 4 between:

  • 13-0 B1G Champ Ohio State
  • 11-2 SEC champ Bama
  • 11-2 Georgia
  • 12-1 Big 12 champ Tech
  • 11-1 Oregon
  • 11-1 aggy
  • 11-1 Ole Miss
  • 12-1 Indiana

Easiest solution for the committee is just put Texas ahead of Alabama tomorrow based on their shitass performance against Auburn, our double digit win over #3, and Florida kicking FSU's ass.

It will obviously not happen but it would be a lot cooler if they did.

I halfway think they’ll move us back just to crush any hope.

Ohio State

Georgia

Indiana

Texas

I hope the committee is smarter than the poll voters, bc we barely got a bump for beating a top 3 undefeated team. Seems to be that impressive wins don’t help you as much anymore the later into the year.

Voters are happy to punish, stubborn to reward

The loss column is the only thing that matters. You could fuck Cindy Crawford, Pam Anderson and Sydney Sweeney all in the same year, but if you also fucked Rosie O’Donnell too that’s all anyone is going to remember. The hotties don’t cancel out the ugly loss.

That’s pretty easy.

1.) OSU

2.) Bama

3.) Tech

4.) IU

Did we cum or not?!

Honestly the path of least resistance for the committee is leaving both ND and Miami out.

ND simply doesn't have enough wins of consequence. Weak schedule where they lost their two hardest games. Nice looking team in terms of margin of victory but not enough results on the field.

Miami was fantastic in the OOC but missing the CCG in a very weak ACC knocks them out.

Then the wildcard is BYU who can potentially take a spot if they beat Tech.

Leaving us out will be an incredible fuck you to interesting OOC games. The networks are going to absolutely hate that outcome.

If Florida is Rosie O'Donnell who the hell is Florida State?
