Sarkisian went on the SEC morning show today and doubled down on both Texas deserving to be in the playoffs and reconsidering the OOC schedule going forward. He basically said, with the SEC going to 9

I get we should cancel Notre Dame and I would cancel the Ohio State and Michigan games also but now is where we need the SEC that we are part of to also make sure all the SEC teams cancel every OOC game that is high profile on their schedules.  That would send the real message.

Not really….a team needs to be given credit for playing these games, not penalized….win win.  Committee needs to recalculate how they chose these teams…gotta be a better way.

Cancel OOC marquis games once tOSU/Michigan are over...with 9 conference games, you just can't risk it, the CFP committee has spoken, wrap it up.

Expansion doesn't solve the ooc problem. All you've done is exacerbate it just like going from 4 to 12.  Now teams will not schedule tough ooc to avoid that 4th loss and get in with 3.

The only solution to ooc conundrum is to say you'll consider strength of schedule instead of solely relying on losses, and then actually doing it.

Yeah, but if you get to 24 with play in games replacing championship weekend, at that point, there wouldn't be much to bitch about.   For example, if you went 4-4-2-2-2, SEC could seed top 8 with play in games.  If you finish top half of league, lose your play-in game and still can't get one of the 10 at large seeds, I don't think you have much of a case.

I still say that if UVA beats Duke in the ugliest game  imaginable (meaning an ACC team will have to get in) and Ohio State and Georgia and Tech win big there can be a rethink happen next Sunday.  We certainly shouldn't stop the pressure campaign.

We should probably publicly cancel the Domers series tomorrow and then privately tell ESPN that if we end up behind Miami we absolutley will cancel the OSU and Michigan games Monday afternoon.

I think we probably honor our home and home with those 2 unless they also want out.

Fuck that. If we’re going to make this big stink and go to every show on the networks spewing it then stand by it. Cancel all or be pussies and don’t cancel any.

Yeah, Aggy lost 4 ranks for losing to us and we only gained 3. It's like they treated us like we are the shittiest team alive that pulled a fluke upset. God damn I hope this team uses that as a chip on their shoulder to just absolutely assfuck Michigan in the Citrus bowl and go on a tear next year.

Last time we beat Michigan in a bowl we won the national championship the next year.  Let’s prove the “time is a flat circle” theory.

Hopefully we can get Longhorn-shaped Cheez-Its as a consolation.

fuck that, cancel michigan and ohio state now as well.  what’s the point in playing the games if there is only risk without reward.   have you seen our sec conference schedule next year?  harder than this year!

Fuck then. Fuck Miami and ND. Fuck Aggie and Indiana and Oregon and tech and BYU for not playing anyone.

Yes, it’s almost as if OSU was our “de Sade” moment

Threatening to cancel Mich and OSU is the ultimate new sheriff of Rock ridge holding himself hostage.  We're not doing that and nobody would take the threat seriously.

Everyone just getting their feels out. When we got into the playoffs the past two years the same posters were openly laughing at the ones who didn’t get in and making logical arguments for why those teams didn’t deserve it. Now that we didn’t get in because of our three losses they only want to play easy randos and drop our OOC schedule.  I am sure aggy is enjoying our meltdown. I am hoping it lights a fire under our administration and BMDs that Tech, OU and Aggy are all getting in. And we are going to the citrus bowl. Caldwell should starts!!!

They won’t cancel the big OOC games they make too much money

Fuck that. I want the Ohio State and Michigan home games. Absolutely cancel the series with ND, but more as a fuck you to ND for rigging the system as an independent.

They are going to adjust the committee rankings process next year to get rid of this 2 or 3 loss issue. Either by emphasizing SOS or going to 16 teams.  There is too much money at stake, they don't want the OOC blueblood matchups to go away.

Leave it to Texas to resort to extortion in an attempt to make the playoff.

No. It's over Johnny. We're most likely playing Michigan in Orlando. You can do the warm and fuzzies over the last time we played them and that will cool some of the rhetoric about cancelling those. In the summer, we'll announce we're dropping the Notre Dame series but with a replacement already lined up.

just from overall game experience I'd say cancel OSU but keep Michigan.  Would like to host Michigan.  already did the OSU host thing and their fans are dicks anyway.

They won't cancel mich and OSU games because they make Texas too much money as home team.  But going forward, Texas will make as much money from 2 home games vs. tomato cans than a home and home vs a blue blood.

This is correct. I think they go to 16 teams. It’s already built in with that bye week for the P4. It’s a shame bc the teams left out are playing the best football right now. Should have been 16 from the jump once they decided to expand it.

Fuck that. Look at our 27 schedule not they go to 16 (especially if they keep AQ) the argument will be for 4 loses left out instead of 3. You want to play underwood in his 3rd year while breaking in Bell in his first or 2nd game in a year you have bama, Georgia, Auburn, OU, Aggy and st arky on the schedule?  When 3 losses gets you in and 4 doesn’t. No fucking way.

Wouldn’t the offset of canceling tough ooc be made up with playing playoff football in Jan?

But like, if the rules were better, we could get both. That's what everyone should want.

Go look at the Texags meltdown. They went from a bye to hosting a real team in the first round. They are praying BYU wins so they move up to the easy spots LOL

We won't cancel Ohio State and Michigan because our media partner needs those games. What we'll get in return is a 16 team playoff so a tough OOC loss doesn't hurt an SEC team.

bowl game doesn't fucking matter. it's a scrimmage.

I'd rather win a scrimmage than lose it...not to mention picking up another game against Michigan in the all-time wins column. Speaking of which, we're now 1 win behind the Domers.

Something. It’s not every day you see blow U, Tech and Aggy in the expanded playoffs it’s got to piss them off. At least Aggy is forced to play an actual opponent.

Why risk an Arch Manning, Collin Simmons acl tear? All for a game that means completely nothing. Get the extra practice. But WGAF about a bowl game.

Because 10-3 sounds a lot better than 9-4.

We need to keep the Ohio St and Michigan games.   Keeping  them mitigates the we are chicken shit to play them because we are afraid of a loss which will be the media driven spin

But for all means yes to cancelling the Norte Dame games and the primary thing front and center is rest of the SEC and B10 for that matter need to quit giving them legitimacy until they join a real conference and have to go through the same rigors associated with this

I would just suggest not losing to a 4-8 Florida team.

Bama lost to 5-7 Florida State by 2 TDs and they will be in. Thanks for your insight.

Fuck it- now you’re playing for seeding. They’ve made it abundantly clear they aren’t rewarding shit for making your schedule harder than it has to be. Schedule like Indiana, take your road losses in conference and get the best seed you can in the playoffs. Absolutely no incentive to schedule a good game in September. Fuck the CFP committee for ruining college football,

I don’t know why he said that. maybe he got AD approval to say that? Or did he wing it? The committee was unimpressed? If he was winging it imo it is bad look. You have to back it up if you are going to say that as your big pitch for why we should get in. I guess? 🤷🏻‍♀️
