Bilas - Duke is living at the FT line...yeah we know Jay its how Duke wins most of their games.

Yes it is early & yes our team is rough around the edges but am I wrong in saying they are much better coached than last year’s Terry’s team? I feel like we never got into the paint last year.

I do know what to think watching a Texas Longhorn men's basketball team that plays like they are coached

#304

Duke disgusts me lol.  Like how much of a failure of life are you to coach them and not win a title every year

We’ll see how the last 7:34 goes…

We do appear cohesive with a design in mind in the first game of the season moreso than last 2 seasons

I don't really think we know yet.  we seem to be hitting the glass a bit better.  look reasonable on D.  it's hard to tell playing Duke.  they are good and then you add in standard Duke refball.

With Smart and Terry 9 of the last 10 years it feels like a luxury. Penders' teams gave off the same vibe, too.

It's nice to have a real coach in charge, regardless of what ends up transpiring. Other than being arrested for domestic violence. Almost regardless.

I feel like I can hear vulcanitis cursing in Lithuanian the entire game.

Sudas, Rupuze (I can’t find the correct font for the Lithuanian letters…)

Swain will average 18-plus in SEC play if we give him the ball. Miller I'm sure knows that but for now wants to see guys share. I guess.

well he's got a chance to win this game.  he's got 8 OOC games against other teams.

This doesn't feel like sharing. This feels like Swaim passing the ball out and never seeing it come back in. It's the first game. Not really complaining. He's just really good and he needs the opportunity to be a difference maker. Especially when this roster lacks them.

My favorite traditional Lithuanian curse is "varpa užpakalis".

"That's surprising" - from the Duke fan

That was some comment.  I'm sure it was our fault the ball spin reversed and the ball went out of bounds.  Come on, Bilas.

Just as last year Pope a liability on perimeter D

I’m still not a Pope fan.

Good fight tonight. Definition of a schedule loss. This team has some nice pieces and some meh pieces.

#328

I'm looking at the box score and he's got 16 shots, with the next closest Pope at 9.

I guess I want him to shoot every shot. I hope I don't think that, but I would like to see him touch the ball more regularly on every possession.

oh wow, i thought that was clearly off of wilcher.

I was hoping they would start calling some of that differently.  when the D player pokes the ball, the ball rolling barely off the defenders hand should not be part of the action.

I expected to lose bc it's Duke and college hoops, but this still beats getting fucked in those hideous black uniforms by 50 when we had nba all stars on the roster

#333

instead of letting the first half refereeing continue to the 2nd half they start blowing whistles everywhere because Duke was losing.

Nice high low from Vokietaitis to Traore.

Traore is just rusty out there. Couldn't finish.

Swaim directing traffic. I really really like this kid.

#342

They sure do shoot a lot of free throws and Make a lot of threes and don’t commit many turnovers

Maybe learn to spell his name, then?

"Share" is indeed being generous. The shots we're getting aren't that bad, but we have marginal shooters taking them. Swain needs to be taking at least half of those. He's our only guy I think would get many minutes for Duke.

I’m going to hope Duke’s perimeter D is on another level and our wing players will play better going forward.

the next 5 games will feel like we were swinging a weighted bat this game.
