This--I don't watch a lot of college basketball but Bilas and whoever were just totally uninterested in calling the game.

I get it's Duke, but Texas isn't fucking Samford.

I guess Bilas wasn’t expecting Texas to live up to its gaudy resume of one FF and two NIT Championships …

if a blind person had the broadcast on they wouldn’t have even known that Texas was in the building. the entire broadcast was dedicated to all things duke.

A casual Texas fan tuning into the first game of the year would have been truly lost with all the new faces. In theory the broadcast should help with that, although in this case they didn’t really seem to think that was necessary.

It is exactly as I expected.

Gonna be a "hard pass" on any future Dick Vitale suck fests.

They wanted to give Dickie V his own “classic” while he’s still alive, so I get it. Duke has always been one of his favorite teams to cover. Texas agreed to be a participant in this dickie V Duke virtual home game for whatever reason, but it still wasn’t as insufferable as the Bill Walton Ali Baba Chinese game we played a decade ago against UW.

Texas is one of the highest profile collegiate competitors in any venue in which it appears and it just seems bad business to treat it as an invisible entity.

He‘s right in that Duke’s perimeter D was outstanding.

Bill Walton was absolutely my favorite announcer in the NBA back in the day. The Ali Baba game was atrocious. RIP
