November 8Nov 8 Author swain with an alley oop assist and a three on the opening minute. Edited November 8Nov 8 by Derka
November 8Nov 8 Author early in the season swain seems to be our go-to guy. vok shows promise, and pope looks good shooting the ball.
November 8Nov 8 Author offense looks much better than previous teams, unsurprisingly. still not always fluid with so many different guys getting playing time.
November 8Nov 8 I like bringing Weaver off the bench as a change of pace. Also at some point I’d like to see Traore replace Codie as a starter. He is just such a great rebounder. Then Codie can come in with the 2nd unit.
November 8Nov 8 If we get everybody back next year, we could be pretty good with some portal additions. Some high upside guys. Swain, Duru, Vok, Codie, Wilcher are all just going to keep getting better.
November 8Nov 8 Loved seeing the McDermott back to back 3s. He isn’t a complete trash end of bench player. Dude hit almost 300 3s in high school and was a Texas 5A all-region player. Good for him.

November 8Nov 8 Author we scored 97 and our leading scorer had 16. the depth is real. figuring out the minutes is going to be huge. if we are able to use our terrible schedule to figure that out then it will have been worth it.
November 9Nov 9 McDermott could have gone other places and done very well. A mid major sharpshooter. I don’t know why we can’t find real minutes with a guy that could hit 5-6 of those every game with a big th at can make that backside pass.
November 9Nov 9 Prediction: Duru is going to be an all-conference player before he is done at Texas. He is going to be very good. What’s up with Heide?

November 10Nov 10 Starters:- G - Mark- G - Pope- SF - Swain- PF - Traore- C - VokietaitisBench:- G - Weaver- F - Codie- F - DuruHeide averaged 20 mpg for a good Purdue team, so I hope we see a good contribution from him. But right now Duru looks better. Wilcher will also likely contribute.

But right now Duru looks better. Wilcher will also likely contribute. I don't think we will see much of Vokietatis and Traore on the floor at the same time, if ever, even as the season evolves. They are our only legit big men (Codie doesn't have the size to play center against against any team with a real big man), and they will likely continue to sub in for each other.
November 11Nov 11 You are probably right, but I wish we would play them both together for part of the game. Traore averaged 30 mpg for Long Beach, and Vokietaitis is averaging 24 currently. I would like to see them both get 25-26 mpg which would mean there are stretches where they both are playing together. Traore is such an exceptional rebounder that we have to get him on the floor. His career rebounding rate is 14.4 TRB/40, which is up there with the best rebounders in Texas history. We also aren't a great shooting team and his offensive rebounding will offset it and help us get extra possessions. I also think their games are somewhat complementary as Traore is most at home on the blocks, while Vok can get the ball outside the paint take it to the rack. Again, not saying they should play all of their minutes together, but 5-8 minutes per game would be good. I also don't think Codie is bringing a ton to the table yet. I would give some of his minutes to Traore, and I would move Swain to PF for some of the game and get Duru / Heide more minutes.

Well my statement didn’t ring true for today and you were right - thought we looked best with both guys on the floor at the same time.
